Story
Coco is 4 years young. We love her! She’s a sweet loving pet. Watching TV, she will come and sit or lie next to you or lay on your lap. She loves to play ball, toss it and she will retrieve it. She also plays catch. She rings the jingle bell hanging from the door knob when she needs to out to pee . . . she responds to the commands “go to bed” “Coco come here,” “SIT, “DOWN,” “OFF.” Unfortunately, we’ve learned that dogs need attention and daily walks/exercise and we don’t have time to give her what she needs. In a new home, we are looking a family that can take her on daily walks, play with her and give her the time she needs. Ideally a family with kids that will play with her often but a family with adults can also work well. Coco does not shed hair and must go for grooming every 2 months or she will look like a bear with eyes covered. Watching TV she growls, sometimes barks at animals but is learning not to. She gets nervous and growls/barks when dogs and animals come near her.

Story
Maui is a beautiful, sweet, and silly 100lb Double Doodle (her wisdom panel shows 45% Labrador Retriever, 32% Golden Retriever, 22% Poodle, and 1% Flat-Coated Retriever). She came to SPAR facing life and death, having to undergo her second gastrointestinal surgery. She luckily pulled through the surgery and the weeks of recovery. She had previously had a foreign body removal 6 months prior as a puppy. Maui is looking for a special home. Having already used two (or more) of her spare lives, her body cannot afford another foreign body removal or gastrointestinal surgery. She cannot have access to any toys or anything left out she can chew on (blankets, dog beds, her leash, plastic dog bowls, etc). She sleeps in her kennel at night and is great around other dogs of all sizes. She is learning about cats in her current foster home and might be okay around dog-savvy cats. She would be okay in a home with older kids that understand the safety concerns of leaving things out where Maui can get into them. She has decent leash manners and enjoys going on walks. She is very smart and would love to take additional obedience classes to bond more with her new family. Maui also has already had an incisional gastropexy, so no future risks of GDV, or “bloat”. If you are interested in meeting Maui, please complete the adoption application. We go through a multi-step process for our dogs that includes meeting at the fosters home, a home inspection, and reference checks.

Hi there! My name is Aja and this is probably the most difficult thing I’ll have to do, but I am looking to re-home my fur babies. I will be moving to New York in about a year and wanted to give ample time to this process so I can ensure they find the right home(s). Here is a little information about each dog. I would prefer, but don’t require that they go to the same home. Please let me know if you have any additional questions. Hubble * Breed: Labradoodle * Age: 4 years old (Birthday 7/13/21) * Size= 50 pounds * Personality= Very Cuddly, Very loyal, Active, Playful * Things to keep in mind:Needs daily exercise, Has allergies (fixed by cytopoint shot with yearly vaccines), Has Rx food for allergies (Hill’s Science z/d kibble), Likes people, but barks at first

Elmo is a sweetheart who was found at 3 months old out and about. He is in the process of getting his neuter. He loves attention and cuddles. Elmo took well to leash and house training, and is a very mild-mannered pup. He is amazing at the vet!

Story
12/03/25What did we do on today’s adventure:I’m always excited to get out of my small kennel. It has been lonely since Squishy, my bonded furry friend got rescued without me. This time I sensed adventure as I am being fitted with harness! I let many human friends try to adjust my harness and in return got treats! I quickly jumped into the car when the back door opened and although I was nervous and anxious during the ride, I welcomed sunshine and crisp cold air when I arrived at the park! I saw a few squirrels and wanted to give chase but my human told me that they are friends and I left them alone. I was so overwhelmed by the new environment that I nervously reacted when I saw cyclists zooming towards me. Runners jogging towards me made menervous as well as I felt they were going to chase me. My human friend noticed this and helped me get pass my big emotions by distracting me or asking the other humans and dogs to give me plenty of space to pass safely. Other than that, I am an adventurer! I loved going down to the cold streams and licking the fresh dew off the green grass. A couple of human friends who walked pass me commented that I was a very cute dog! I wish I could’ve shown them my skills at catching treats thrown mid air and my powerful snuggles! We completed nearly 5 miles of trail adventures and I wish I could go for more soon. What should potential adopters know about me:Shiloh needs help regulating his big feelings when encountering dogs on leash or fast moving (runners, joggers, cyclists) objects. He would strive with calm environment and patience from his people as he learns to feel safe. He was found as stray with a bonded chihuahua who left the shelter so he would benefit from love, patience and structure from experienced dog owners who is willing to work with him.Three words to describe me:Playful, intense, loving
