Story
Meet Louie! Through no fault of his own, sweet Louie is in need of a loving new home. Louie is about 2 years old, a handsome Lab/Shepherd/terrier mix with a striking brindle coat, weighing in at a sturdy 58 pounds. He's an energetic, people-loving guy who gets genuinely excited every time someone new walks through the door — Louie truly loves people and is good with kids, strangers, and everyone in between. He's easygoing with other dogs too, and has always done well with the pups he's been around, though he hasn't had the chance to meet a cat yet. Louie is a smart, food-motivated boy who had some early training as a puppy and is eager to learn more. What he really needs is an active family who can match his energy and give him plenty of exercise and mental stimulation to help him burn off steam — he's the kind of dog who thrives with a job to do, whether that's a good run, a long hike, or a dedicated training routine. With the right amount of outlet, Louie is a loyal, affectionate companion who will return that effort tenfold. He's neutered, current on his vaccines, and on monthly heartworm prevention. Louie's family adores him, but between work schedules and a family member's allergies, they're simply not able to give him the time, attention, and exercise he deserves. He's ready and waiting for a family who can. If this is you, please complete our adoption application ASAP! The adoption fee of $150 will include spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate/required vaccinations, treatment for heartworm, and any other necessary medical treatment to ensure a healthy new pup for your family. IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: Although we do our best to describe the breed, since our pups all come from shelters, we can not and will not make any guarantee on breed or size. We can tell you that they are 100% RESCUED! And that is the BEST breed! *Please note that we are a foster home-based rescue and we do home visits as part of the adoption process - we are unable to adopt to families who live outside of the Chicago and surrounding suburbs.
