Story
Scooter was rehomed from a family out of state. He is a loving dog who loves to play. He is a little over a year and still learning his size, weighs 65lbs. He did not have much exposure as a pup, and needs a relaxed environment. He can have a lot of energy, and would need a yard. He loves to play, and cuddle. He can bark at strange noises and when he wants attention. However, is usually quiet in the crate unless he whines to signal that he needs to go. He would do best as an only dog and adult-only or no-children household. And since he is still learning his size, he may be best suited for an experienced adopter. He has a crate, toys, and food to take to a new home.

Story
Chloie is a caring, vibrant, stubborn 5 month old puppy. She is playful and exciting. She loves the outdoors and playing with other dogs. She will need a loving and nurturing family to care after her. She requires a lot of attention and can be clingy at times. She is very smart, so she catches on to things quickly as well.

Story
Miniature Labradoodle that loves to cuddle with you on the couch and in your bed. Raised with older children and around children ages five and up. Loves to play with other dogs, enjoys going to her groomer, doggie daycare and even the veterinary office. Easy going walking in crowded streets. Does show stressors when left at home alone (cries and scratches at the door). Managed separation anxiety utilizing sturdy kennel and playing TV. Some days are better than others. Not recommended to live in a condominium due to excessive whining when she is stressed about being left home alone. House trained but still has accidents. Currently uses “porch potty” at our condominium. Needs you to walk with her in the rain to potty on bad weather days. More willing if she has a coat to walk in the rain. Great recall during off leash play. Allows other dogs to take food for her food bowl. Must be feed separately to ensure she eats.

Story
Hi there! My name is Serena and I'm about 1 years old. I weigh a whopping 77#s so I guess you can say I'm a big girl. I'm a black Lab mixed with Shepherd. As you can see by my pictures, I am all black except my paws, I mean my giant paws, are sable coloring like a Shepherd. Nobody knows my past history as I was found as a stray and picked up by a local animal shelter. Did you know large breed dogs and if their fur is black, we are the last to be rescued? Well, I must have won the jackpot that day because I got something called a Freedom Ride. Treasured Animal Rescue said give us a silly girl that needs a Freedom Ride. I'm in a foster home that has other dogs, cats and I do very well with them. My first couple days I had to learn so much. 1st, my name and then I had to learn the routine of a foster home. I didn't like going into a kennel, but I then realized my kennel (crate) is where I get my meals, nice treats and I catch up on my beauty sleep. Now, all my foster Mom has to say is "Serena, go kennel". I'm a real lady where I will tell you I have to go potty. No accidents from me. I will whine or give out a bark. Oh, let's talk about my bark. In the house I am very quiet unless all the dogs are barking but inside, I'm quiet. Outside? Oh different story. My foster home is right by a school and when we get to play outside and its school time, we see all these kids running around and lots of cars. That is when I bark, and I have a really loud bark. Like a locomotive bark but hello? I'm a Shepherd and Shepherd's tell you things when we bark. That's our DNA. I haven't been around little kids, but my foster family thinks I should have a caution. Not because I will be mean. I take food very gentle but when I get excited, I do jump and remember I noted my weight - that's a lot of weight jumping on a little tyke. I only jump when I get excited. But you tell me "Serena, down" I get down. See, not only am I pretty - I'm a smart cookie! Silly Serena is my nickname because I get silly. All the fosters are always posing for pictures. My family says we got to get good pictures to put in your profiles. Well, that's when I put on my silly hat. I know SIT and then I'll give you one of my paws and then just for the heck of it I go silly, and I roll over on my back and get you to rub my belly. So, if you are looking for a big dog to make you laugh but yet, let me be a lap dog than I am your gal. I could use a little help in walking on a leash. I do pull but not only am I beautiful I am also smart so I know in a short time I will learn walking on a leash. When I see other dogs (mostly big dogs) I do get very excited and will bark some more. Small dogs are more my speed and I make friends with them right away. So, what do you say. Ready for silliness? All you got to do is complete an application and our fun times begin! xoxo, Serena Serena is located in our foster home in Aurora. Story
Hello, my name is Henry, and I am 10 years young. I'm a quiet boy and you can see by my picture I like a couch. Do you have a couch for me to lounge on? My Owner went to a home that doggies weren't allowed (assisted living). Her Caretaker brought us to a local Animal Control. I wish I was able to go to the doggie barber beforehand as my hair was really, really long. I know some guys like that hippy look but on a dog, I was a hot mess. I got a groom and yeah, it's quite short but it will grow back. It's just hair, right? And come Summer I will like the coolness on my skin. I'm in a foster home that has other dogs and cats. Us doggies all go outside together, and we play. Being I'm a "mature" guy I really don't play as much but I check out what the other dogs are doing. I like to be with my foster Mom and of course be on a couch. When it's time for us to eat dinner or go outside my foster Mom gets me off the couch and I act silly. I roll over on my back or give her a high 5. I hope one day I will have a new home and maybe it can be with another mature person. Someone I can spend my golden years with. I promise I will keep you company and I don't require much. Just a couch, lots of love, high 5s and when the time comes - take me to a doggie barber so my hair never becomes that hippy look. Ready to meet me? Just say the word and we can set up a play date! Couch here I come! Henry is in our foster home in Aurora. To meet this handsome Dude, please complete our adoption application at: https://treasuredanimalrescueinc.org/application-dog-adoption/ Sorry, Treasured Animal Rescue does not adopt out of the State of Illinois Thank you for choosing to adopt! Story
I hear the train a-coming. It's rolling 'round the bend. And I ain't seen the sunshine since I don't know when… If you know these lyrics, I am pretty sure you know who my namesake is. My name is CASH. I am named after the legendary music artist with a soulful voice. I don’t quite have his singing ability. Actually, I am very quiet. When I do bark, my foster momma says it is pretty wimpy and more of a whine. She likes that I am not very vocal. I was not born in Arkansas like Johnny. My hometown is in southern Indiana. It was there that I became a “Highwayman” when I was walking the roadside as a stray dog. I was picked up by the local animal control officers and threw behind bars. If I had a better singing voice, I could have serenaded the other shelter animals with my rendition of “Folsom Prison Blues”. When I promised to “Walk the Line”, I was released to Rover Rescue. All I could do was “Cry! Cry! Cry!” knowing that my life was going to be so much better. I was going to live in Illinois in a loving foster home until my furever home finds me. Unfortunately, I didn’t get to ride in the “General Lee” on the 5 hour trip. My transport north was in a van along with other dogs excited to become Rover Rescue fosters. I am truly a “Man in Black”. However, I do have some white on my legs and chest along with some black spots. The vet thinks that I may be a Black Labrador Retriever and German Shorthair Pointer mix. My brown eyes are my most striking feature. They are the color of warm cognac. You just get lost when you stare into them. I currently weigh 53 pounds with an ideal weight being around 57. I am a charming young adult, around the ages of 15 to 18 months. I am one of the most affectionate dogs. I love to snuggle with my people. When on the couch, I will join you and will have to be as close as possible, if not in your lap. I will not be happy unless I get to sleep with you. I just want to be your cuddle bug. All I have to do is look at you with my big brown eyes and I get my way. My foster momma thinks I would be a great fit for just about any household. Even though there are no small children in my foster home, I seem to really like kids of all ages. I was very gentle when I met children at a recent adoption event. I am housebroken and crate trained. My crate is my security blanket. I will run and hide in it when I am unsure of loud noises. I eat all my meals in my crate. I will patiently wait inside if my meal is delayed. When I first arrived in my current home, I would spend my alone time and bedtime crated. Now that I have proved that I am not having accidents and am not destructive, the door is hardly ever shut. When I am contained in my crate, I am very quiet. I would love to have a June, Willie or Waylon dog in my furever home. I have been introduced to several dogs and have been friendly with all. I match the other dog’s activity level. When there was a 4 month old puppy in the house who was a burning “Ring of Fire”, I was a great playmate/babysitter. Now that there is only the 8 year old resident dog, I am much more calm like “Cool Water”. I do enjoy playing with toys and will play catch. I even bring the ball back for another throw. I will need a home without any cats. I am way too interested in birds, squirrels and rabbits also. A fenced yard will be needed to keep me safe. I do like to follow my nose. I walk well on a leash and enjoy car rides. I ride in the backseat, but will put my head on your shoulder. “Well, Alright” if you are looking to add a country gem to your household, please consider me, CASH. At least, I am not “A Boy Named Sue!” My foster momma, Darla, would love to talk to you on her home phone of 630/406-9405. The adoption fee for CASH is $225. Adoption fee includes: - microchip - spay/neuter - age appropriate vaccinations: Bordetella, DH(L)PP, rabies - heartworm preventive & flea/tick preventive
