Hi, I’m Cester and I’m ready to find my forever home!  Name: Chester Breed: Labradoodle Age: 9 months Pet Location: Jackson, MO Gets along with: Dogs?: All dogs Cats?:  Not yet tested Kids?: All children Training: Leash trained: Working on it! Crate Trained: Goes to crate/kennel on command Potty trained: Indicates a need to potty (is a puppy, expect some accidents) Car:  Working on it! Meet Chester  Chester is a fun-loving, affectionate young doodle mix with a playful spirit and an even bigger heart. At just 9 months old, he’s full of happy puppy energy and loves spending his days running and playing in the yard with his foster siblings. While he’s definitely an active boy, he also enjoys downtime and is always ready to snuggle up once playtime is over. Chester is a true velcro dog who loves being close to his people and wants to be involved in everything you’re doing. He settled into his foster home very quickly and has a sweet, eager-to-please personality that makes him a joy to have around. He already knows some basic commands, is potty trained, and does well loose in the home. He crates easily when his foster is away, though he may cry a little at first. Chester can be hesitant around men initially and may be vocal until he feels comfortable, but once he builds trust, he becomes happy and affectionate with them as well. He would benefit from continued socialization, training, and confidence building as he grows. He gets along well with female dogs, is good with kids, and has shown no food aggression or concerning behaviors in foster care. Chester sheds very little, but his coat will require regular brushing and occasional grooming to keep him looking and feeling his best. This sweet boy is looking for a family or individual ready to continue helping him learn, grow, and thrive. With his loving personality, playful nature, and loyal heart, Chester is sure to make a wonderful companion. Until the profile is removed from the public’s view, this dog is considered available for adoption. To apply to adopt from Just Giants Rescue fill out an online. Story
Our 10-month-old, 56 lb puppy is a loving, playful, and very energetic young dog who absolutely loves playing fetch and being active. He sleeps great in his kennel at night (kennel included with rehoming) and has so much potential with an active, experienced owner. As he has grown, we’ve realized his strength and energy level are more than our family can safely manage. He is very strong, can jump, and could easily pull someone off balance, so we feel he would do best in a home without small children or older adults. He would love a fenced in yard or acreage to run. This is a difficult decision, but we want to find him a home where his energy, strength, and playful personality can truly thrive.

Story
Urgent Plea for a Foster Home for Mindy Mindy, a sweet and gentle 9-year-old Lab and Hound mix, desperately needs a safe place to land. Her previous family failed her, and she was abandoned, but she still has so much love left to give. A senior dog might not run a marathon alongside you, but she will happily walk by your side. The slower, gentler pace of life settles into their old bones, making every moment shared with them special. Like fine wine, dogs get better with age—their muzzles may be whiter, but their hearts are fuller. Mindy is a 55lb, loving senior girl who enjoys spending time outside, taking walks, and playing with toys. She still has more energy than a typical senior and thrives on attention, treats, and bones. She does well in playgroups with proper introductions and is currently kenneled with other dogs at the shelter. She is crate trained but, like many senior dogs, needs a consistent routine to manage her bladder. She also walks best with a harness. Mindy’s Story: Mindy came from Texas, where humans failed her, leaving her to face an uncertain fate in a shelter. She is still adjusting and needs a gentle hand to help her rebuild her trust. She is also vocal when meeting new dogs, so proper introductions are essential to help her feel confident. Her Situation is Extremely Urgent! Mindy is finishing up her final 10 days of rest from heartworm treatment and will be ready for adoption soon. However, her current foster family is in crisis and can no longer care for her. She must be relocated immediately. We do not have a physical shelter, and our boarding partners are completely full for the next few weeks due to Spring Break. More than that, we are deeply concerned that placing her in boarding will break her spirit. Mindy deserves a warm bed and the comfort of a home in her senior years. We are desperate to find her a foster or forever family right now. Can You Help? While you foster, we provide all necessary supplies and vet care through our local veterinary partners. You provide the love. If you can help by fostering or adopting Mindy, please email us as soon as possible at: adopt@safehavendogsil.org Please help us help her! Mindy deserves a second chance at love and security. Time is of the essence—she needs you now!

Story
Meet Chestnut – The Sweetest Little Firecracker! 🐾 6-Month-Old Male • Terrier Mix • Energetic & Loving Hi there – I’m Chestnut! I’m a 6-month-old terrier mix puppy who made a big journey from Texas to find my forever family, and I just know they’re out there waiting for me! My foster family says I’m curious, playful, smart, and oh-so-lovable. I’m always up for backyard zoomies, a good game of tug-of-war, or chasing after a ball (fetch is my favorite!). Once I’ve burned off some energy, I love nothing more than curling up on the couch for snuggles. I adore meeting new people and pups—I’ve never met a stranger! While I don’t live with any kids in my foster home, I’ve done well around small children during visits. I also get along great with other dogs and would love a home with a playful furry friend—but I’d also be totally happy as your one and only sidekick. I’m a smart cookie, too! I already know several commands like “Sit,” “Wait,” “Down,” and “No,” and I’m learning more every day. I get super excited and may jump up to say hello, but that’s just my happy puppy energy—if you give me attention, I settle right down. I’m fully potty trained (yay!) as long as I get frequent outdoor breaks, and I sleep soundly all night in my crate. I’ll even take daytime naps in there, especially if there’s a cozy blanket waiting for me. My foster family absolutely loves me, but they know I deserve a forever home that can give me all the love, playtime, and guidance a smart, energetic pup like me needs. Could that be you? I can’t wait to meet you and start our next adventure together! Our standard adoption fee is $375 cash or check and $385 credit card ($10 processing fee). . It includes spay/neuter when age appropriate at our participating vets, age appropriate core vaccinations, fecal testing, deworming, flea and tick preventative,1st vet visit at one of our participating vets, and micro-chipping. We must have an application, conduct a phone interview, and meet your entire family to approve an adoption. Applications will not be reviewed unless fully completed. An application does not commit you to adopting and does not guarantee adoption but does allow us to begin the review process. Please email adopt@safehavendogsIL.org for an application or additional details. Please note that the breeds and sizes posted in this biography are educated best guesses and are not guaranteed. Story
Meet Lettie Mama duty? Officially complete. Now Lettie is ready for the fun part: being somebody’s spoiled best friend. Lettie arrived in Illinois from Texas back in November after her owner entered hospice care. Her foster family thought they were just welcoming one dog… until Lettie surprised everyone by announcing she was expecting puppies too. Since then, she has been an amazing mama, raising a beautiful litter of babies who are quickly finding their forever homes. And now? It’s finally Lettie’s turn to shine. This gorgeous Lab/Husky mix is estimated to be between 1–3 years old and weighs about 40 pounds. She’s the total package: completely housebroken, smart, playful, affectionate, and full of personality. Lettie loves: • Playing with her dog friends • Hanging out with kids • Coexisting peacefully with cats • Toys, bones, and backyard adventures • Being near her people • Sleeping all night on her cozy blanket like the perfect house guest She’s happy entertaining herself when needed but is always ready to join in on family fun. She enjoys having free roam of the house and has excellent manners. She can be crated if necessary… although she may file a formal complaint about it. Lettie has spent months taking care of everyone else. Now she’s looking for a forever family that will love, spoil, and cherish her the way she deserves. If you’re looking for a loyal companion with a playful spirit and a heart of gold, Lettie may be your girl. For an application or additional information, please email adopt@safehavendogsIL.org (Also yes… you are absolutely allowed to rename her. “Mama” was a temporary situation.) Our standard adoption fee is $465. We offer a $15 discount for adopters who pay by cash or check, making the adoption fee $450. The adoption fee includes spay/neuter when age appropriate at one of our participating veterinarians, age-appropriate core vaccinations, fecal test, deworming, current on flea and tick preventative, and microchip. To ensure the best match for both our dogs and adopters, we require a fully completed adoption application, a phone interview, and a meet-and-greet with the entire household. Applications will not be reviewed unless fully completed. Submitting an application does not guarantee adoption and does not obligate you to adopt; it simply allows us to begin the review process. To request an application or for additional details, please email adopt@safehavendogsIL.org Please note that the breeds and sizes posted in this biography are educated best guesses and are not guaranteed.
