Story
Luna is a beautiful 1.5-year-old Lab mix who is quietly stealing hearts. She’s a sweet, gentle, and loyal young dog who is a bit shy at first and needs some time to warm up. Luna didn’t have the best start to her life, but she is learning more every day what it means to feel safe, loved, and cared for — and it’s wonderful to watch her confidence grow. Luna is not overly energetic, but she does enjoy playtime and truly loves going for walks on a leash. With how happy and focused she is on walks, she would make an excellent walking or running partner for someone who enjoys getting outside together. She is extremely food motivated (nothing is off limits — even green beans, broccoli, and cucumbers!), which makes training and bonding much easier. Luna does very well during the day while her people are at work or school, and  she often chooses to relax inside the crate on her own. Because so much of the world is still new to her — sounds, people, and experiences — Luna does best with gentle reassurance and patience. Once she knows she’s safe, her sweet personality shines through. She would likely thrive with a younger, playful dog in the home who could help build her confidence and show her the ropes. Luna truly just needs a chance. With a little time and kindness, she warms up within days and becomes a devoted, loving companion. She’s ready for a calm, understanding family who can help her continue discovering the good life she so deserves   If you are interested in adopting/meeting this pup , please complete our online adoption application that you can find here: https://www.starfishanimalrescue.com/adopt/dog-adoption-application  . Story
Say hello to Pixie, a sweet and sassy little hound/lab mix girl weighing about 13.5 pounds who has a beautiful cinnamon-colored coat, a striking black muzzle, and white stocking legs that make her absolutely irresistible. One look at her precious face and it’s easy to see how she could melt even the toughest heart. Pixie is the perfect mix of gentle sweetness and playful sass. Pixie is a world-class snuggler who loves curling up for naps with her people. She enjoys playing when you engage with her, but she’s also perfectly happy entertaining herself with her toys. She has a soft and thoughtful side too—new things can make her a little shy at first—but she’s gaining confidence every day and continues to blossom. Pixie loves to play! She is the reigning queen of the sneak attack when playing with her brother. At mealtime she’s a perfect lady, sitting patiently while you prepare her food and eating enthusiastically with the sweetest, gentlest manners. Pixie is currently working on her potty training. She willingly goes into her crate and will sleep there, though she’d much rather snuggle up next to you in bed (she may have been a little spoiled!). She sleeps through the night, can jump onto the couch, and confidently goes up and down stairs—even using stairs to climb onto the bed. This smart little girl is also incredibly intelligent and curious. She quickly figures out treat puzzles and is quite the problem solver when she misplaces her favorite toy. Pixie loves meeting new people and will happily run over to greet visitors. She hasn’t had the chance to meet dogs outside of her brother yet, and while she hasn’t met cats, she does seem interested in watching outdoor critters through the window. Pixie has a fair amount of puppy energy when she’s awake and playing, so she would thrive in a home with a larger fenced yard where she can run and burn off energy. Because of this, apartment living may not be the best fit unless her adopter can provide plenty of walks and exercise. If you’re looking for a loving, cuddly, playful companion with a soft heart and just the right spark of sass, Pixie may be your perfect match. She’s ready to fill a lucky home with warmth, laughter, and affection. If you think Pixie might be the one for you, come meet her and get ready to have your heart stolen!   If you are interested in adopting/meeting this pup , please complete our online adoption application that you can find here: https://www.starfishanimalrescue.com/adopt/dog-adoption-application  . Story
Mary is a 40 lb. Lab/Terrier mix is equal parts spunky and sweet, and she's on the lookout for her forever family! She was born in approx. November of 2024. Mary is a playful pup who absolutely loves romping around with the resident dog in her foster home. She plays hard, wrestles joyfully, and is always up for a game of tug or a shared snuggle. She gets along great with other dogs and would thrive with a playful canine sibling who can match her energy and help her learn the ropes. She's also house-trained and crate-trained, though she does have some crate-related quirks. Mary tends to get protective of her space and isn’t a fan of people approaching her crate unless it’s time to let her out. Outside of the crate, she’s been social, loving, and well-mannered around both adults and kids (ages 10 and up). Mary is still a young pup, so she’s working on her manners—like keeping all four paws on the floor when greeting people and learning not to “surf” the table for snacks. She knows “sit,” comes when called (most of the time!), and is starting to follow her foster brother’s lead in ringing the bells to go outside… though sometimes it’s just a clever way to distract him and sneak a toy. She may bark for a few seconds when new people arrive—but she’s a smart girl, and her foster family is working on building her confidence through training and consistency. If you’re looking for a fun, affectionate, and clever young dog to grow and learn with, Mary could be the perfect match! She’ll do best in a home that’s ready to continue her training, offers some structure, and ideally has a friendly dog to play with. Jamison is an almost 4-month-old lab, hound, and terrier mix weighing about 10 pounds, and he’s expected to grow into a smaller-to-medium-sized dog.
