Meet Baxter 🐾 Baxter is a sweet, affectionate boy who takes his job as a professional snuggler very seriously! Give him some attention and he’ll happily soak it all up. And if you stop petting him before he’s ready, don’t be surprised if he gently paws at you to let you know he’s not finished yet. ❤️ Baxter loves being outside, enjoying tasty treats, and having a good chew toy nearby. He’s also a great little travel buddy who rides nicely in the car and walks well on a leash. Baxter enjoys the company of other dogs, but he’s just as happy hanging out with his people. He would do best in a home with another friendly dog to keep him company and help him feel comfortable. When meeting new people, Baxter can be a little timid at first, but it doesn’t take him long to warm up. Once he does, his affectionate personality really shines! Baxter is crate-trained and stays comfortably crated when his people are away. He’s a loving, easygoing companion who would make a wonderful addition to a family looking for a loyal cuddle buddy. All of our dogs start their journey in Memphis, Tennessee where they remain in loving foster families until they are adopted. Once adopted, some pups stay local in Memphis. Many others travel via one of our transport partners to their new forever homes. We use Pet Express Transport (https://petexpresstupelo.wordpress.com) for our Nashville, Knoxville and New England adoptions. For our Midwest adopters, we have our own private transport. Breed selection is done in conjunction with two local vets and is not to be considered a guarantee but rather a well-educated decision from well qualified staff. Due to the extremely high volume of inquiries we receive, we ask that you request, complete, and submit an application before asking additional questions. We try very hard to include all pertinent information in our bios. We are excited to help you find your new family member. However, Woof River is 100% volunteer operated. Adam Dean is currently in RI and looking for a 'furever' home! Adam is happiest when the snow is falling and good luck getting him to come back inside. This fun loving guy thrives with another playful dog to bring out his full personality and match his energy. He adores his people, lives for car adventures, and is ready to be your copilot through every season. Adam is a really sweet boy!  At first he is slow to warm up but by the third day he was in his foster home he really opened up!  He loves to follow his humans around and lay next to them during the day.  He is good with people and has met kids at some of our adoption events.  He loves hanging out with the resident dogs and he'll lay and snuggle with them and enjoys playing with them too.  He hasn't been noted to resource guard.  He also isn't vocal.  He loves to be outside and run around in the yard.  He's not destructive but occasionally will start to nibble on his doggie bed.  He is easily redirected with a toy.  He is doing very well with housetraining and hasn't had any accidents yet.  He likes his crate and sleeps in it all night without crying.  He's food motivated so he should be easier to train.  Adam is great in the car and usually just takes a nap.  He isn't very high energy but does like to play with toys.  He will snuggle up with his foster humans on the couch at night before bed.  He would do best in a home that is willing to be patient with him while he gets comfortable and is looking for a chill laid back dog.  Adam will require another friendly confident dog in the home to continue to help him blossom!September 11, 2026, 8:50 pm

Techno Henson is currently in RI and looking for a 'furever' home!    Techno is slowly learning that the world can be a safe place. While he is still very shy and timid, his confidence grows a little more each day as he watches and follows the lead of other dogs. Techno is looking for an experienced adopter with the patience, time, and understanding to let him progress at his own pace. A home with at least one confident, friendly dog is required, as he relies on canine companions for comfort and reassurance. Because Techno is a flight risk, he will need a secure fenced yard, careful management, and a crate or safe space where he can decompress. He is not yet house trained and will need time to build confidence before venturing outside. Thankfully, he is very food motivated, making positive reinforcement a great tool for earning his trust. Techno may not be your best friend on day one, but for the person willing to give him the space he needs, the reward of watching him blossom into a devoted companion will be truly special.
