This is Benny, a double doodle. He turned two in March. We were blessed with him at just a few weeks old. He is a friendly and family oriented dog. He is up to date with his vaccines and is potty trained. He is playful with my kids and does well with other animals, including our other dog. We have had a few life changing events these past few months and have a lot going on right now. Benny is active and requires attention. He needs more than what we can provide at this moment. Sofia was hit by a car. Her pelvis was broken in two places. Her femur was broken. She was in so much pain that she tried to bite our vet twice. We barely knew her then. With the severity of her injuries and the long, hard rehab ahead, our vet was honest about the road she was facing and urged us to consider euthanasia. We were torn and overwhelmed. In a moment that felt impossible, we said we’d wait on her heartworm test to help guide the decision. She was heartworm negative — so she got the surgery. After 10 days in the hospital, something incredible happened. Sofia did a complete 180. The scared, hurting dog turned into a tail-wagging sweetheart and quickly became a staff favorite thanks to her gentle nature and loving spirit. During rehab, Sofia gave us 100%.
