Baxter was found abandoned near the American Legion post is Ennis in late October. My son brought him to my house for protection from the elements with two nights of freezing temperatures expected. We took him to the vet and he is chipped, but the vet contacted the owner, and the owner did not want him back. We got him fully tested, got all his vaccinations updated and started on Heartguard and Nextguard. He is very sweet, about 2 years old, 63 lbs, neutered, apparently house trained, very friendly and smart. After two weeks of slow integration, he and my 3 dogs share backyard playtime and get along fabulously. In these two weeks, he is learning to walk gently on leash; has learned “sit”; and “stop/sit/stay” at intersections on his walkies. He loves people and wants to spend time with both human and canine buddies. He’s a very active dog and at his size is probably not suitable for a home with small children; and to continue his training probably needs an experienced dog owner.

This handsome boy’s right legs were partially amputated when he was just a pup by someone who’s clearly on the bullet-train to hell. Technically, Charisma is special needs, but don’t tell him that! He’s active & gets around well – he can even jump into the car! He’s been dearly loved by his adoptive family for many years, but sadly, must now be rehomed. He’s healthy, crate-trained, & would do best with a small dog to keep him company. Although he prefers women to men, he has lived with a man & was devoted to him. C’mon – everyone could use a little Charisma! How about you?

I am on the hyper side and tend to get along with other dogs as long as they are males and can handle my energy.
