Story
Sebastian is 7 years old. He is a great dog for someone who doesn’t have young children or babies. He’s smart, energetic and very cuddly. However he requires a lot of attention and has high separation anxiety and we just don’t feel we can give him the full care lately that he needs with young babies at home. It’s heartbreaking but we know he could be easily loved by the right family.

Story
Gus is an energetic, fun-loving Labradoodle who absolutely loves people and thrives on human attention. He especially enjoys playing fetch, being outside, and spending time with his family. He is very affectionate and loves to cuddle. We adopted Gus about 8 months ago. He gets along well with our German Shepherd, but Gus and our Labrador have had repeated altercations, primarily around food and high-arousal situations such as outdoor play. Because of this, we believe Gus would do best in either a single-dog household or potentially with a larger, non-Lab breed dog (similar to our German Shepherd), in a calm and structured home. Gus is approximately 2 years old and is up to date on his vaccinations. When we adopted him, he tested positive for heartworms and is currently about 8 months into treatment (slow-kill method). He will need a retest in 4 months and is expected to be clear. He walks well on a leash and has done basic training, including sit and wait, he does great with people.

Euronymous is a large 1 year old dog that has been with us since July 26, 2025. Before we got him he came from San Marcos and was there about a month. He’s a fun-loving, energetic pup who’s happiest when he’s splashing in water or soaking up attention from his people. With his high energy and zest for life, he’ll thrive in an active home—ideally one with a spacious yard where he can run and play. Since he’s spent most of his life in a kennel, he’ll need some patience and guidance with potty training, but he’s eager to learn and ready for a fresh start with a loving family.

He moves through life at a comfortable pace, taking everything in stride and spreading peaceful vibes wherever he goes. Huey is incredibly loving and affectionate. He adores being close to his people and is always ready to share kisses and soak up attention. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will happily lean in for snuggles, Huey is your guy. He appears to be potty trained, is great on a leash, and seems to do well with other dogs, making him a wonderful fit for many different types of homes. Whether it’s a leisurely stroll, a canine companion to hang out with, or a quiet evening relaxing together, Huey is simply happy to be by your side. Story
Senior Spotlight! Captain Crunch radiates joy and happiness so much so that he has to dance by tapping his paws on the ground! Despite his age, Captain still has plenty of energy to give to his next family. He loves to go on walks, play with a good tennis ball, give hugs and kisses, and he especially loves to smile and show off his charming underbite. Possibly not the brightest bulb, Captain frequently lets things go in one ear and straight out the other, but his love for people and other dogs makes him a certified sweetheart! He loves to snuggle in blankets and would make a perfect cuddle buddy. Captain does great with other energetic dogs, but he might be too much to handle for smaller or elderly dogs. We did try to see how well he would do with cats, but his interest was a bit too elevated for us to give him the approved Cat Pass. Captain Crunch is desperate to get out of the shelter. He was a long stay at another shelter before we pulled him to PAWS, and is coming up on being a long stay here, too. We're eager to get him out of the shelter!
