Story
Meet Abby, my sweet-tempered, 3-year old lab mix with a beautiful black brindled coat. I need to re-home her so she can be the center of attention. She is completely up to date on all vet care and loves to go on walks and watch squirrels. My challenge is that her 12 and 17 year old siblings are in poor health and frail, and Abby wants to play so badly. She sent her 17 year old brother sailing off the deck steps recently, just trying to play with him. Abby is 55 pounds and my older 17 and 12-year old doggies are half her size, so the dynamics of age and weight are just not working. I have some health issues too, and cannot handle all three. Abby has a gentle personality and a calm environment is great. I do not know how she would be with children because she has not been around them. She loves dogs and is curious about cats. She is indoor/outdoor and needs a fenced yard. She is initially skittish, and warms up quickly once she understands someone is friendly.

Story
This good-looking fellow is Blue, a 1 ½ year old mix of Lab and Husky.  He weighs about 55 pounds now and shouldn’t increase in weight anymore.  (Unless you feed him doughnuts!) The first time you meet him, you’ll see how his short, black coat shines in the sun!  Blue (called that due to one of his eyes being part blue) is a good boy.  He gets along well with other dogs at daycare, and he’s terrific with his foster’s six-year-old son.  And they love each other so much!  Although he gets along with all kids, though, it might be best if your family doesn’t have very small children, not because he’ll intentionally hurt them, but he might knock them over because he’s excited at play.  Shy upon meeting, Blue would do best in a home with another dog, a pal who could help him feel more comfortable with his time spent alone.  A canine friend would really be great!  A fine boy, he would be a great addition to your family! ! Story
Say hello to Shadow, a 1 1/2-year-old male Lab/German Shepherd mix weighing around 55lbs. Shadow is a very shy boy who has been with us in rescue since he was six months old. This shyness is greater in some rescues than in others, so we asked a trainer for help, and he’s progressed a lot.  He’s more playful and confident. We’re looking for a warm and caring family that will understand when he’s timid and will provide him with a fenced yard to help with that.  Though he’s gentle natured and wouldn’t hurt a fly, small children may startle him; therefore, a home with older children or adults only would be best. Shadow does well with other dogs and cats and is also housebroken. His foster says of him, “ Shadow K is an extraordinary dog, he just doesn’t know how to show it. His heart is filled with love!” (Revision11/24/23, ML)  Please check out his video!   **It is rare that we know with certainty the ages or mixes that make up our dogs, but we do our best to be as accurate as possible based upon our experience. ** Adoption Fee/Transport Fee: $250.00April 24, 2024, 2:47 pm

Story
Gemini, a 35 pound,1-year-old Lab mix, is one sweet girl! She was one of 3 adult female dogs and 9 puppies who were dumped in a ditch. The other two adult dogs, Aries and Aquarius, are also available for adoption as are 6 ditch puppies (Goat, Pisces, and littermates Sagittarius, Leo, Capricorn, and Taurus). You can read more about their rescue story here: https://www.crossingpathsanimalrescue.org/rescue-stories/three-adult-dogs-and-9-puppies-rescued-from-a-ditch Gemini is a true beauty, sporting a short blonde coat. Since her rescue, she has opened up and put her loving temperament on display. Her favorite activities are playing with her toys and walking. She gets along great with other dogs, and we will have to cat test her to see how she reacts to them. Gemini truly deserves a loving home after such a tough start to life. Story
Dahlia was abandoned in a cemetery when she was even smaller and younger than she is now.   After she was found, she was taken to the shelter where Crossing Paths found her and brought her into rescue!  A sweet, sweet Lab/Bulldog mix, she weighs between 20 and 25 puppy pounds and will grow to be between 50 and 60 pounds.  Now, at 4 months old, and with those big shining eyes of hers everybody loves being around her including other dogs, kids, and her foster’s cat!  (posted 2/45/24, TN)     **It is rare that we know with certainty the ages or mixes that make up our dogs, but we do our best to be as accurate as possible based upon our experience. ** Adoption: $395 which covers quarantine, shots, worming, medical records, spaying/neutering, microchip and an Alabama State Health Certificate.   Transport, if needed  $160   We consider the transport to be of great importance and, as such, take particular care of the dogs during the trip . We make every effort to arrive with healthy and minimally stressed dogs.  April 24, 2024, 2:47 pm
