Story
Meet Kimber. He was taken in with his brother and buddy Ruger. He is a 3 1/2-4 yr old, 70-75 lb sweetheart lab mix. Kimber is just a big love bug. Tends to be lower energy. He’s a bit on the shy/timid side compared to his brother. He enjoys plenty of affection, chasing and talking to birds, sunbathing, chewing bones, playing with doggy siblings, taking walks, or lounging on the couch. Kimber would enjoy a nice yard or land with doggy friends, plenty of affection, and maybe a couch or comfy bed to call it a day on. In his foster home he has become accustomed to an indoor/outdoor lifestyle. Kimber is vetted, neutered, microchipped, house trained, kennel trained, walks on a leash, and knows basic commands. Kimber would make a great loving companion. If you would like to meet this sweet guy and make him part of your family, please complete an application at https://forrescue.net/dog-application/ . He is located in North Alabama with transport available to your area. Friends of Rescue requires a virtual home visit and vet reference prior to all adoptions. Let me introduce you to Rosco. He's a cheerful 3-year-old lab mix, full of energy and enthusiasm. Rosco is incredibly active and has a unique way of showing affection unlike any other dog. Unfortunately, I've realized that I can't provide him with the attention and time he needs anymore. He's well-trained in basic commands like sitting and staying, and he's always gentle when taking treats from your hand. I'm hoping to find him a caring home where he'll receive the love and care he truly deserves. Are you ready to make Rosco a part of your family?

Story
🎀 PHEE🐾 Phee is a female, 9 month old pittie/lab mix! ❤️ Phee is very alert and takes notice of what is going on in a new situation. Her foster mom’s favorite thing she does is steal her big dog’s ball after he drops it at my feet to throw. He drops it and she will run up and grab it and run off with the ball. All the while wiggling her butt back and forth. 😆 She loves dogs & loves going to doggy day care. She has now learned to sit and is potty trained in her crate at night! She is still working on her dog walking skills and her nervousness with new people, but she has come a long way! She will need someone that is patient and eases her into her new home, and then she will have lots of love to give🖤 If interested in adopting one of our available pets, please fill out an application at http://www.dixiegirldogrescue.org/adopt-form Most of our are pets are fostered in Southern foster homes and are posted for adoption once they are completely vetted and ready to travel. Our pets are adoptable in Alabama and New England States. Our adoption fee includes transport fee, spay/neuter, current vaccinations, deworming, heart worm test for animals over 7 months old, all necessary vetting and an interstate health certificate. Story
Affectionately called "Tiny Terra" by her foster pawrents, this gorgeous little pup is an adorable mixture of sassy and sweet. Terra is a medium sized mixed breed that we guess is part Lab and part who knows. She was pulled from a local shelter after being put on the euthanasia list. We saved her, got her healthy and this little pup is ready for her furever! And yes, her ears do naturally stand like that. We're in love with them too. Terra is a precious pup that loves to play but has also settled into an amazing pup that enjoys a good cuddle and movie on the couch. She loves to play in the yard and would adore having a 4 legged sibling that likes to play. She also enjoys going for runs or walks in the neighborhood. This girl handles car rides like a pro and immediately starts the sniffs when you crack the window. She is naturally curious though so an owner that can help establish boundaries would be better. She's managed to get her nose in our coffee cups more than once but isn't destructive. This playful pup will be an amazing addition to the right family. Terra would be great with older kids that are steady on 2 legs. She's incredibly smart, knows sit and working on place, house trained, crate trained, and knows her leash manners. Terra corrects easily and is very sensitive so gentle guidance will be all you need for her. She can get chatty when she's frustrated, like when her 4 legged siblings don't want to play. :D A simple "that's enough" and she settles. If you're interested in learning more about this gorgeous girl or would like to apply and have her join your family, please submit this form: dixiegirldogrescue.org/adopt-form. We'll forward it to her foster mom who will reach out from there.

🎾Jak Hi I’m Jak, I started my life in a rural shelter but I am thriving with my foster family! I am a very very sweet and loving boy who wants nothing more then to cuddle my humans! I LOVE going for walks, chewing on bones, playing with toys and sunbathing in the yard. My foster mum says I’m perfect on the leash and walk well with other dogs. I’m good with kids and other dogs. Jak is a great listener and has been fun to train and work with. He picks things up so quickly! Jak would make a great addition to any family or single person who has plenty of love to give and wants to take him on the locational outing. Jak does not enjoy dog parks but will go on every hike or public outing with you.

🐾DARLA❤️ Darla is a 1-year-old lab mix that is unfortunately looking for a new home because the baby in her home is allergic to her😞 so we are here to help! Her current humans say they love the way she smiles when she stretches for her walks in the morning, and that she is the perfect exercise partner! She is a loveable companion that brings happiness and joy to even the darkest of days ☀️ Darla is a very adventurous pup. She loves to socialize with other dogs and play all day. Her perfect home will have treats, toys, and bones - and of course nice spot to sleep and hang out when her humans are gone! 💤 Although her tiny human is allergic to her, Darla loves babies and kids. Humans and dogs of all sizes are her bff’s! Darla’s current mom says she has been her joy and hope in dark times, and she is hopeful for a wonderful forever family for her. 🏡 If interested in adopting one of our available pets, please fill out an application at http://www.dixiegirldogrescue.org/adopt-form Most of our are pets are fostered in Southern foster homes and are posted for adoption once they are completely vetted and ready to travel.
