Story
Meet Cali! Cali is a 4-month-old lab mix puppy with a sweet and gentle soul. Born to a feral mom, she and her siblings spent the first couple of months of their lives without much human interaction, so she’ll always be a bit shy. But once Cali warms up, she’s the most easygoing and lovable companion you could ask for. Cali adores other dogs and finds confidence in following her four-legged foster siblings. She’s doing great learning the ropes, including house training and using the doggie door. At night, Cali cozies up in bed with the children in her foster home (they even argue over whose turn it is to snuggle with her!). Cali is looking for a patient and loving family with another dog to help her continue building trust and confidence. If you’re ready to give this sweet girl a safe and happy forever home, Cali will fill your life with quiet love and gentle loyalty. Story
Affectionately called "Tiny Terra" by her foster pawrents, this gorgeous little pup is an adorable mixture of sassy and sweet. Terra is a medium sized mixed breed that we guess is part Lab and part who knows. She was pulled from a local shelter after being put on the euthanasia list. We saved her, got her healthy and this little pup is ready for her furever! And yes, her ears do naturally stand like that. We're in love with them too. Terra is a precious pup that loves to play but has also settled into an amazing pup that enjoys a good cuddle and movie on the couch. She loves to play in the yard and would adore having a 4 legged sibling that likes to play. She also enjoys going for runs or walks in the neighborhood. This girl handles car rides like a pro and immediately starts the sniffs when you crack the window. She is naturally curious though so an owner that can help establish boundaries would be better. She's managed to get her nose in our coffee cups more than once but isn't destructive. This playful pup will be an amazing addition to the right family. Terra would be great with older kids that are steady on 2 legs. She's incredibly smart, knows sit and working on place, house trained, crate trained, and knows her leash manners. Terra corrects easily and is very sensitive so gentle guidance will be all you need for her. She can get chatty when she's frustrated, like when her 4 legged siblings don't want to play. :D A simple "that's enough" and she settles. If you're interested in learning more about this gorgeous girl or would like to apply and have her join your family, please submit this form: dixiegirldogrescue.org/adopt-form. We'll forward it to her foster mom who will reach out from there.

Story
Smokey is a PRECIOUS “coyote pup” that we pulled from a local shelter and is ready for his forever home 🖤 If you give Smokey scratches, he will beg you for more. He loves attention and affection and will try his hardest to please you to earn more lovins! He is friendly with other dogs and people, and doesn’t pull on leash, making him a great walking or hiking buddy. 🏕️ This handsome boy is attentive, and quick learner. He is medium- energy, making him great for active lifestyles but also lazy when you need him to be! Once comfortable in his new home, Smokey may start to push some boundaries. For example, when left alone he may grab a shoe or the remote control. He's also not very comfortable with certain things, like getting into the car. With patience and positive reinforcement training, he is sure to overcome these mental barriers.🥰 Smokey knows the cues "sit" and "stay" but doesn't always respond, so he still needs some work on basic obedience. He is fully house trained! Smokey needs a forever home that will be patient with him and continue his training. He would also appreciate a semi-active lifestyle, regularly going on walks. He will do very well in a home with children and other dogs or being the only dog.🐶 If Smokey sounds like the one for you, please apply! Story
🐾Meet Mittens Mittens is an adorable lab/border collie mix who was born around the first of October. He has a gorgeous black and white coat with thick wavy fur on his back. Mittens is a fun, happy puppy. He loves to play with his siblings and really enjoys his time outside getting to explore in the fenced in yard. He is crate trained and working on house training. Mittens is definitely “the big brother” with his two siblings and he takes his job very serious. He is always the first to check out new toys or treats and of course he thinks he must have the first bite of food at feeding time just to make sure it’s okay for everyone 🤣 Mittens is a big puppy but he still loves to sit in your lap and get lots of love and attention. He would be an excellent companion dog or a wonderful family member to a family with children. If you think this handsome boy might be the perfect addition to your home, please submit the adoption application. Mittens is ready for all the new adventures and to start making memories with his new family. 🎈
