Story
Meet our darling Dakota! She is an almost 2 year old, 65 pound, black and white, Labrador/Pit bull mix. This beautiful girl is great with kids and cats but would prefer to be the only dog in the home. She is fine with farm animals: caged chickens, goats, horses and cows. Dakota is being rehomed because she has too much energy for her family existing elderly dog. She is an active girl and will need daily walks. She is the perfect size for an active family that hikes and runs. She loves the water and she loves to jump in the lake! Dakota wants to join you on all life's adventures. She LOVES chew toys so please have lots of toys available! KONG Brand last longer than most. She walks well on the leash and rides well in the car. Dakota knows the commands "sit" and "stay" but needs some more training, as she likes to greet you with jumps. She is housebroken and will go to the door to be let out and if you don't pay attention she will nudge you. Going outside with her and using the command "go potty" will reinforce good habits and a new routine. She can CLIMB and JUMP so please have a securely fenced backyard. She is spayed, microchipped and currently vaccinated. Dakota is waiting for a her forever home. Here is a list of things that should help us answer you in a more timely manner. 1. When you apply please always use the same email address. If we need to look something up later and you used a different email we are often not able to find it. 2. Adopt a Pet and Petfinders ask you to send us an enquiry. This always delays our response. (Why) a. Our biographies are always very detailed. Therefore sending an enquiry asking us to repeat what it says in the biography causes a lot more work and delays our response. b. We are a small non-profit and do not always have the help to answer as many enquiries as we get. c. Again our Biographies are very detailed and if you just click the link near the bottom of their bio you can fill out an application which we will respond to. 3. For the AFC website (scroll down to the bio at the bottom it says (apply to adopt today- click that link) www.animalfriendsconnect.org 4. For Petfinders ( scroll down to the biography then click the adoption link) http://animalfriendsconnect.org/adoption-application-dogs/ 5. For Adopt a Pet (scroll way down past “Ask about me”) you will see the biography and underneath that will be the adoption questionnaire link. Story
Amy is a shy blonde lab. She was found running stray with another dog. She was very thin and looked like she had been trying to survive as a stray for a while. She is current on all her shots as she is being prepared to attend dog training classes so had all the tests required for that purpose. The ideal home for Amy would be where she can run with a large female dog friend and have lots of human attention. She is shy at first but is showing promise and will be a wonderful family pet. Story
Hi my name is Lexi and I am about 1 year old.  I came from a military family that could no longer keep me due to moving someplace that won't accept dogs.  I am very cute and am dying to find my new forever family and home.  I love kids, I like playing with them and all their toys, chasing them, taking over their beds and calling them m own.  Call to set up a meet and greet with me you won't regret it. ##1423516##

Story
Nala is 2 years old. She will be 3 in October. Nala was found on a rainy day during January 2021. Once I took her in, I noticed she had been most likely abused, she either got dumped or ran away. She is a very sweet, smart, loyal, & playful dog. We cannot keep her around other pets due to her not getting along with other dogs since an incident. This is extremely heart breaking to me having to rehome her because I really love Nala. She’s become a big part of my life. But I am currently 8 months pregnant & cannot find a home anywhere where I can take her with me. I live in a 1bedroom studio & need to move asap. I’ve tried over a year trying to find something bigger where I can keep her. This is my last option. I just need to make sure she goes to a good home where she won’t be hurt again. She deserves a better life than I am currently giving her. She is microchipped & has her shots. She is good around kids & people. She’ll be good in a home with no other pets.
