Story
Acquired from a coworker in Ione. She is four years old (born in March 1, 2020), and 22 inches tall from paw to withers. When she was a puppy, she was attacked by another dog, and has not responded well to other dogs since, even her littermate who she used to play constantly with. She is very sweet with humans, enjoying hugs and kisses, she will try to weave between your legs if you're sitting, she'll lie down at your feet if you rub her belly for a long while, give back kisses, and enjoys attention. We are looking for a home where she either has a big yard to play around in, or with a human who has a very active lifestyle. Even so, she may need some extra training since we also experience daily instances of resource guarding (growling after we try to take back food or shoes she steals from counters). Finally, she has patches of dry skin and lumps in her ears and unfortunately, we cannot afford the treatment or time, though both may be easy issues to care for.

Story
We adopted Sirius in March of 2023 to serve as a companion and be trained to be a service animal for my disabled teen. Things were progressing, if slowly, before we were forced to move suddenly in December. Since then he has developed extreme anxiety, and we have exhausted all resources that we have access to. This manifests in several different ways, but one of the biggest is he refuses to eat or drink unless my kid is in his line of sight. In addition, if they leave him alone for more than 30 seconds he starts barking and whining - this includes for middle of the night bathroom breaks. He's non-reactive with cats - curious, at most. We don't have any experience with him and dogs in "his space" like we do with cats, but out in the open on the street, other dogs and people are a passing curiosity. In his space, however, his anxiety manifests in almost constant barking and/or movement. He's not aggressive - his barking will be accompanied by his retreating wherever he can hide.

DNA is pending! Dogs: Yes Kids: Older kids are ok Cats: Unknown Crate Trained: Yes Leash Trained: Yes on a head harness Housetrained: Working on it Meet Lionel, your future soul mate. He’s a lovable dork whose silly personality and heart-throb looks win over everyone he meets. Lionel is a lovely work in progress, but aren`t we all? He’s a medium energy guy that would love to join you on your daytime adventures and then crash on the couch with you for a Netflix marathon once he’s had some good exercise. Lionel is new to household living, but he’s learning fast. He’s still a bit like a mischievous puppy in that he’ll carry around your shoes and nibble your fingers.Oh and he’s a tall guy so that kitchen counter is just at nose height!Right now supervision and managing him like a puppy in the house helps him make all the right choices. He really wants to make you happy and learn, so he will quickly earn more freedom and house privileges. When he gets in trouble his signature move is to flop on his back and convince you he’s totally innocent. Lionel currently lives with 4 other large dogs in his foster home.He gets along well with everyone, although not everyone appreciates his dorky clumsy play style. His foster home does not have cats, but we always recommend slow introduction with cats and we can share information on how to do this. His current foster home does not have kids, but we’ll be getting more information soon on how he feels about living with kids. Please check back! Lionel is super smart and knows the basics like sit, down, and wait, with a side of `4 on the floor` etiquette in progress. He`s a joy to walk with a gentle leader, calmly taking in the world. He sleeps through the night in a crate. He loves chew toys and bones and will even play fetch. So, if you`re looking for an epic true love who’s all heart and silliness, Lionel might just be the companion you`ve been searching for.

Story
I'm a disabled Veteran with bone cancer and I am no longer able to care for Mocha like she deserves, like walking her regularly in fact I can't walk her at all due to my health condition. She's a good and friendly pet, while in my back yard, she is also a good guard dog 🐶 as well. She barks at passing Patriots and other dogs but quites down afterwards. She will be a great addition to anyone that loves dogs.
