Story
Meet our darling Dakota! She is an almost 2 year old, 65 pound, black and white, Labrador/Pit bull mix. This beautiful girl is great with kids and cats but would prefer to be the only dog in the home. She is fine with farm animals: caged chickens, goats, horses and cows. Dakota is being rehomed because she has too much energy for her family existing elderly dog. She is an active girl and will need daily walks. She is the perfect size for an active family that hikes and runs. She loves the water and she loves to jump in the lake! Dakota wants to join you on all life's adventures. She LOVES chew toys so please have lots of toys available! KONG Brand last longer than most. She walks well on the leash and rides well in the car. Dakota knows the commands "sit" and "stay" but needs some more training, as she likes to greet you with jumps. She is housebroken and will go to the door to be let out and if you don't pay attention she will nudge you. Going outside with her and using the command "go potty" will reinforce good habits and a new routine. She can CLIMB and JUMP so please have a securely fenced backyard. She is spayed, microchipped and currently vaccinated. Dakota is waiting for a her forever home. Story
Hazel is a sweet and playful large breed mix ( Lab mix puppy with possibly some Shepherd ? she appears to have webbed feet ) who is looking for her forever family. She is about 16 weeks old and weighs about 40 lbs. She loves to play with her siblings (Henry and Harper) and snuggle with her foster humans. She is very people oriented and really wants to spend as much time with her people as she can. She is the alpha of her litter and very eager to please her humans. Hazel has a gorgeous brown, tan, and cream colored coat She would do well with lots of handling and training. She recognizes the sit command (especially for a treat!) She is still very much a puppy and is learning what mouthy behavior is. She is an inside dog with outside privileges. Room to run is essential. She is working on potty training. She has been around small children but has not been around cats. She will do best in a home with someone who wants to spend lots of time with her and/or has a doggy sibling. She will need a lot of outdoor adventures, exercise, chew toys and will benefit from consistent training. She has started her vaccinations and is scheduled to be spayed and micro-chipped. Story
Maddie- Black female lab/shepherd mix 10 months old and is a very friendly young dog. She has beautiful golden brown eyes. She responds well to loving attention and connects quickly with people. We do not know how she was treated before she came to us but she was very underweight and a bit timid at first. She has put on proper weight and looks like she will be no more than 40 lbs at most. Maddie loves to chew on bone-type toys and stuffed toys too. She will need some formal training. She does respond to a firm tone and will sit and wait when she really wants to jump up for attention. She loves to be petted and hugged and will sit next to you to receive it. Because her living situation makes it necessary for her to live outdoors only, we do not think she has had the opportunity to experience living indoors. We have found that dogs her size potty train quickly. Maddie and her brother Mason were dumped in a northern Stockton neighborhood in the middle of the night. They were fortunate to find their way to the house of a friend of our rescue. Unfortunately, they are cat rescue people and are temporarily fostering the two pups. Maddie and Mason are having to live outside as they cannot be indoors with the cats. They each have kennels and an overhead covering but as the weather turns colder we are hoping to get them placed in loving homes as soon as possible. They need homes where they are part of a family with an indoor living area. Story
Mason- Black with white chest male lab/shepherd mix 10 months old and is a very friendly young dog with warm brown eyes. He is all about attention. He gets very excited whenever any person comes to see him. He has not had any training as a younger pup and will definitely need some formal training. He does respond to repeat corrections when he becomes over-excited to be given some attention. Someone hurt Mason when he was younger, he was hit hard on the right side of his face. There is no bone damage but he does have some nerve damage which causes him to not completely close his mouth. He has a prescription that could help the nerves recover. His right eye is also slightly retracted and gives the appearance of being smaller than his left eye. But be assured that none of this slows him down. He is a happy Boy. He loves to play and especially likes stuffed and soft toys. Mason is not expected to be more than 40 lbs. He was extremely underweight when he was found but has put on weight now and is looking much better. Mason and his sister Maddie were dumped in a northern Stockton neighborhood in the middle of the night. They were fortunate to find their way to the house of a friend of our rescue. Unfortunately, they are cat rescue people but they are temporarily fostering the two pups. Maddie and Mason have to live outside as they cannot be indoors with the cats.
