Story

Oliver is a sweet, gentle soul and we are so happy that he is safe and sound. He was found as a stray and, through his microchip, his family was contacted by the shelter. They said they no longer wanted him. Well, WE DO WANT HIM AND SO WILL YOU!!! He is an amazing dog! Oliver is 100 lbs and about 10 years old. He is a playful, yet mellow, boy. He is considered to be generally healthy, as his lab-work came back great. We are treating him for eye and ear infections (should clear up) and he received a pain injection for arthritis. He's an active boy who loves, loves, loves to play ball. He also knows how to relax and just chill. Oliver is good with the dogs in his home pack but will require slow introductions to new dogs that he meets. He's not a dog park sort of boy, as he was likely not introduced to that experience in the past. He will do great with a backyard to play fetch in! Oliver is a sweet, happy dog and is a joy to have around.

Story

Carmelo may be old in age but he is still very much a puppy at heart. He loves to go on walks around the neighborhood and mark every step that he can. He loves to cuddle and lick you at any chance that he can get. You will never be alone the minute you wake up; he is a shadow through and through. He loves his bones and his squeaky toys and will rip the stuffing out of them to reach the squeaker and be proud of his work. When he wants attention, he will lay his head down on your lap and just stare at you with loving eyes, begging for pets, even sneaking in a little lick. He will watch you as you work and will even try to squeeze himself into the cat bed, which is amazing to watch him squeeze into a tiny doughnut. He does well with smaller dogs and dog savvy cats, but best to still monitor if need be. I am looking for a home that will take care of this old dog during his senior years. Someone that will take him on a daily walk and give him all the love and affection he needs.

He's fully potty trained had rounds of parvo and got he's shots. He loves people so he's down side is just that he gets super excited and won't leave you alone 🤣 If you are looking for a playful, sweet, best friend Simba is your boy. Simba will be neutered before he is re-homed. Apartment living will not be a great option for Simba unless the potential owner is very active. Meet sweet and innocent girl, Raven. At only ten months old, this little girl ended up at the Hayward animal shelter after her owner passed away. She lived with a couple of other dogs in a backyard and was completely shut down and afraid of people when she came to the shelter. She was however, extremely dog friendly and the shelter staff worked with her closely to help overcome her fears. She did very well in a temporary foster home and went on to find a long term foster home through Lucky Dog rescue. Raven hid in the crate and under the ottoman in her foster home the first two days. With the help of another foster dog buddy, she started coming out of her shell and warmed up to her foster mom. On day three, she hopped on to the foster mom’s lap and there’s been no going back ever since. Raven is 100% sweet, loves other dogs and dotes on kids and people once you give her some time. She has bonded so closely with her foster friend and lives for snuggles, lap time and pets. She has no guarding issues and is the best dog there ever can be. She’ll make a perfect second dog for a lucky family! Raven thrives on dog to dog interaction and it’s important she gets plenty of opportunities to meet and socialize with canine friends. She is potty trained, uses doggy doors, crate trained, super playful and also is mellow, cuddly and affectionate all the same. Since being a backyard dog, she’s come a long way! We can’t wait for you to fall in love with this amazing girl!

**Meet Buddy this Saturday, April 20th from 11:00 to 1:00 at Dublin Petsmart West, 6960 Amador Plaza Rd.** Buddy is a fully-vaccinated 60-pound male black lab mix now in foster care. Buddy was apparently dumped in Livermore and ran loose of at least six weeks before he was trapped and brought to the shelter. He was too scared to be put up for adoption, but his (now) foster parents took him out for walks over the next month and established enough trust with him to bring him home to live with them. Buddy lives with two other dogs and a five-year old child. He is calm and gentle with his foster daddy but still very shy with strangers.
