Story
Peace (3 y.o.) is a sweet, lovable dog who enjoys being close to his owner. He has lived with his litter-mate, Joy, since he was born on a farm. He has not socialized with other dogs and barks frequently at new people/animals. He has also never been formally trained, but has potential if someone has time to work with him. He can be high energy, but spends most of his time indoors. He could use more exercise, but is VERY strong, so we're unable to walk him. He plays outside in fenced-in yard daily. He is house broken & crate trained. When we are not home, he stays within one room with his sister & door closed. Loves riding in the car. With new people, he warms up quickly & loves children and adults. Peace does have anxiety & will shake if afraid of something new: wind, bells, noises, tall men. He prefers to be introduced slowly & have his owner nearby. As soon as he relaxes, he is his old lovable self. Loves to cuddle & make silly faces. Has recently shown ability as a retriever.

Story
Joy is a 3 y.o. lab who has lived with her litter-mate, Peace. since they were born on a farm. She is very gentle, cuddly, lovable, and still fancies herself a lap dog. Joy has not been socialized to be around other animals. However, she is very good with children and adults. She is a companion at heart, so if she is separated from Peace, she would do well with someone who is home during the day. Joy is house broken and loose during the day. At night and when we are out, she likes to sleep in her crate next to her brother in a single room with the door closed. She loves riding in the car. She is not formally trained, but Joy is extremely bright. She prefers mental stimulation to physical exercise.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Cherry's Meet Your Match Designation: Wallflower Shy yet charming canine searching for a patient owner with a relaxed lifestyle. Looking for gentle guidance to help me come out of my shell. Treat me sweet and kind and I’ll blossom.  Please Note: We will require that they can only be adopted by a family who has had personal experience with abused dogs.  Please view her sister & her video below from when they first arrived starving when they were 5-months old & today at around 70 lbs & now that they just reached one-year-old ---I expect she could go 75 lbs full-grown Our lovely Lab/Chessie sisters were abused in their previous life in VA. While they have made great progress here in their foster home, they are both initially nervous around humans but do warm up when given enough time to know you do not want to hurt them. No aggression whatsoever but rather they go to the ground, it's very sad. We will require that they can only be adopted by a family who has had personal experience with abused dogs.  We accept Zelle, PayPal & Credit Cards for the adoption fee.      All LnF pups/dogs have been temperament tested & live in foster homes ~ All pups and dogs have been housebroken (puppies are paper trained) & crated trained ~ All pups/dogs have been Microchipped ~ Tested for Heartworm, Ehrlichia & Lyme ~ Each dog is on Heartworm Medication year-round while in our care ~ Up to date with Rabies ~ Distemper, Parvo & Leptospirosis vaccines ~ Wormed.      Our adoption fee includes (30) days of FREE pet insurance with an option to purchase, but it's your choice. We strive to provide the BEST medical care available so that YOU are assured all our pups/dogs are healthy, up-to-date on all necessary shots, spayed or neutered by our rescue.         Adoption Requirements:  *A minimum physical 4-foot high fence or is higher is always mandatory and must be installed.  Some dogs may need a 6-foot wood or vinyl fence & if so it's noted on their profile. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Update: Reggie is not ready for adoption at this time. We will be working with him on some behavior modification. He was not properly socialized and now he is showing fear aggression with strangers. We will post updates about him. If you would be interested in sponsoring his training please visit our website to make a donation. Any help is greatly appreciated! Reggie was surrendered to a shelter when his owners could no longer keep him. He is about 1 year old. He is nervous at first and will need someone to understand this and continue to help him gain confidence. He is super sweet when he gets to know you. He is full of energy and loves to play. We are not sure about his breed but he only weighs about 30lbs, perfect size!  He does fine with cats and some other dogs.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 30, 2023, 1:23 pm
