Story
Hi, I’m Vitorio! I’m about a year old, which means I’ve perfected the art of being adorable, slightly chaotic, and 100% lovable. When I get excited (which is always), my whole butt wiggles like it’s got its own personality. Honestly, I don’t even know who’s in charge back there. I’m super sweet, super loving, and fully committed to being your personal shadow. Need a cuddle? I’m there. Need a smile? I’ve got you. Need someone to follow you to the bathroom? Say no more. I’m great with other dogs too—basically the guy at the party who wants to be friends with everyone. No drama, just vibes. *Important things to know: • I will love you immediately • I will wiggle aggressively • I may forget personal space exists • I am 10/10 good boy material If you’re looking for a best friend who comes with built-in entertainment and unlimited affection, congratulations… you just found me. Now hurry up and come meet me—my butt is already wiggling in anticipation. 💛

Story
Apply to Adopt Me! At approximately 7 months old and 42 lbs, Duke is in an ideal stage of puppyhood: full of energy and curiosity while already showing signs of intelligence and eagerness to learn. This possible lab mix responds when called, works for treats, and responds well to positive reinforcement. Duke knows “sit” and is learning more commands. He is leash trained, potty and crate trained, and sleeps through the night consistently.   Duke successfully completed rehabilitation following FHO surgery on his back, right leg, and he has gleefully embraced being allowed to run at full tilt. While he is able to run and play , he must still work on exercises to continue to strengthen his leg - but those exercises are just more ways for him to play. Duke will have delayed neutering (at age 1) to give his leg a full year to build muscle. Duke enjoys people and does well with other dogs. He warms up quickly, seeks out human companionship, and prefers to stay close to his people throughout the day. He has plenty of typical puppy energy and especially enjoys toys, balls, sticks, and chew toys. He loves swimming in his foster's swimming pool.   As with any young puppy, Duke is still learning manners and boundaries. He would do best around dogs with stable temperaments and patience for normal puppy behavior while he continues training. And as is typical of a pup, Duke can be mouthy, so a family with young kids must be aware and have a plan for this.  Why he’s special:  He’s got a head start on training, a heart full of love, and a quiet, thoughtful nature that makes his affection feel earned and genuine. Add in his resilience, and you’ve got a pretty incredible companion.  Since he still needs leash training, we are requiring a secure fenced yard for him. Duke will be adopted with a delayed neuter addendum, which means he will be neutered at a later date at one of our vet partners in the Orlando area and the cost will be covered by the rescue. His adopter will be responsible for dropping him off and picking him up. If you live in the Central Florida/Orlando area and believe you would be a good match for Duke, please complete an app and let us know more about you.
