Jasper came to us in January of 2020. He’s has always been a loving and cuddly dog! With the new addition to our family we feel as though he’s lost a lot of attention and affection from us and we know he deserves better. He’s a great outdoor adventure dog. Can go off leash on hikes or at the beach! He’s never been aggressive with us, our children, or other dogs. He’s a good swimmer and could honestly spend hours swimming in the pool or the ocean. If he’s not ran out he will dig holes, and I mean big ones! So getting him out is important to his happiness. I hope you see how amazing he is the way I do because he’s genuinely a good dog, we just don’t have the time for him or his needs so it’s really been a hard decision to make but I want what’s best for him. Keeping him cooped up isn’t fair and I wish we could do more but that’s why I feel like a good active family would be the best for him.

Hi, I’m Shadow — a 7yearold, 41pound Labrador Retriever blend who lives life with curiosity, comfort, and plenty of heart. I’m clever, affectionate, and full of the goofy charm that makes humans smile without even trying. I’m hoping to find a foster or forever family who’ll appreciate my loyal nature. Favorite Things: Shadow loves exploring her environment, greeting new friends with cheerful enthusiasm, and soaking up affection from anyone willing to offer it. Toys are her absolute joy, and she brightens instantly when she has a few to choose from. She’s a snuggly, social girl who enjoys curling up close to her humans and being part of their daily rhythm. Training and Manners: Shadow is housetrained when given regular opportunities to go outside and will let her people know when she needs a break. She’s treatmotivated and picks up new expectations quickly. She’s practicing her leash skills and working on calmer greetings. At night she may bark when left alone but does settle once she understands the routine. She also loves car rides and happily joins on outings. Health and Care: Shadow is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines. She will just need monthly flea and heartworm preventatives, like any dog. She’s finishing treatment for a skin infection and takes her medications with patient cooperation. Regular baths and nail trims will keep her comfortable and feeling her best. Other Animals: Shadow has shown some resource guarding with some dogs previously (no resource guarding with people at all). For this reason, we feel it would be best for Shadow to be the only pet in her forever home. Children: Shadow’s experience with children is unknown. Her spirited nature suggests she may do well with respectful, dogsavvy kids who understand her cues and give her time to adjust. Ideal Home: Shadow feels most comfortable when her people are close and would thrive in a home where someone is around more often. She enjoys having room to explore, whether that’s a yard or regular outdoor outings. Apartment living could work if her family helps her settle during busy moments and ensures she gets enough exercise. She’s athletic, enthusiastic, and would do best with a patient family who can continue guiding her as she learns good manners. Overall: Shadow is a loving, goofy, resilient girl who brings brightness wherever she goes which is pretty impressive for someone named after darkness.
