Story
FROM SHELTER DOG TO SOMEONE’S SOUL DOG Meet Duke This handsome young black Lab mix sat in a shelter for far too long — not because there was anything wrong with him, but simply because he was in a location where hardly anyone comes to adopt. His time was running out, and he was placed on the euthanasia list through absolutely no fault of his own. So we stepped in and saved his life. And honestly? Duke has turned out to be one of the BEST dogs imaginable. ✔️ Housebroken ✔️ Never had a single accident in foster care ✔️ Playful and fun ✔️ Sweet and loving ✔️ Great personality ✔️ Typical happy-go-lucky Lab energy ✔️ Loves people and just wants to be part of a family Duke is the kind of dog people are always searching for — friendly, easygoing, affectionate, and ready for adventure or couch cuddles. He’s young, healthy, and truly has so much love to give. Black dogs are so often overlooked in shelters, and Duke almost lost his life because of it. We know his perfect family is out there somewhere. Duke's application cam be found at www.mysaltydog.com. Come meet him today!

Story
Sammy is a smart, energetic, and loving dog who is looking for a new home where she can thrive. She loves long walks, running in the backyard, and chasing squirrels. She is house-trained, knows many commands, has good recall, and is generally quiet, only barking when someone comes to the door. Sammy has lived with a family and has done well with routine and exercise. She enjoys belly rubs and attention from people she knows, but is also very independent. She has also done well at doggie daycare and gets along with some dogs, though she can be selective and may do best as the only pet or with a calm, compatible dog. Sammy does need a home without small children. She can be reactive toward dogs that approach her aggressively. She is up to date on all vaccinations and in good health, with only a sensitivity to dairy worth noting. She may need some time to decompress in a new home, but she has shown time and again that she's capable of trust and growth. Sammy's family loves her deeply and is making this decision with her best interests at heart. She deserves a calm, stable environment where she can feel safe — and with the right fit, she'll thrive. Story
Meet Angel! Angel came into a rescue with a weeping gunshot wound and heavily pregnant. Despite everything she had been through, she gave birth to 15 healthy babies. All of her babies have been adopted - now it's Angel’s turn to be someone’s baby. 🤍 Angel is a shy, gentle soul who takes a little time to trust - but once she does, her love is soft, loyal, and incredibly special. She isn’t the kind of dog who demands attention… she’s the kind who quietly chooses you. She would do best in a calm, patient home that will let her open up at her own pace. Angel can coexist with other mellow, respectful dogs, but she truly thrives in a peaceful environment where she feels safe.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.updated 4/11: Meet Jackson – Your Perfect “Old Soul with a Young Heart” Companion  Looking for a dog who’s the best of both worlds? Meet Jackson, a 10-year-young, 50-pound sweetheart who still has plenty of pep in his step—but knows how to truly relax and enjoy the good life. Jackson is the kind of dog who just gets it. He’s equal parts walking buddy, couch companion, and loyal shadow. He loves long strolls, gets excited to play, and then happily settles in right beside you—whether that’s curled up in his dog bed or leaning into you for some well-earned pets (his signature move!). Why you’ll love Jackson: Gentle, affectionate, and easy-going Great with other dogs Housebroken and doggie-door trained Champion cuddler and professional lounger Secret beach bum—he loves water! Jackson may be a senior, but you’d never know it. He still enjoys adventure and would make an excellent walking partner (he’s enthusiastic on leash and could use a little polishing—but that just means more bonding time!). He’s a “go with the flow” kind of guy—happy in a home with other dogs or soaking up all the attention as your one-and-only. While he’s not a fan of cats, he’s been a total gentleman with every adult human and dog he’s met. The perfect home for Jackson: Someone who appreciates a dog with a calm spirit but a playful spark. He doesn’t need fancy tricks—just love, companionship, and maybe a cozy spot on the couch. If you’re looking for a loyal best friend who will walk by your side, lean in for affection, and remind you to enjoy life’s simple pleasures… Jackson is your guy.  Adoption Fee: $ **Included:** - Neutered - Up to date on all vaccines - Microchipped - Heartworm negative Adoption Requirements: Home visits required and non-negotiable Adoptable through: The London Sanctuary Fostered in: Jacksonville, FL       -----------------------   Meet Action Jackson – The Chill Companion You’ve Been Waiting For  Despite his action-packed name, Action Jackson is more of a laid-back homebody than a thrill-seeker. This 9.5-year-old hound/lab/mutt mix is all about the simple pleasures—quiet afternoons, leisurely walks, and lounging with his people. Personality & Lifestyle Jackson is calm, polite, and dog-friendly. He enjoys meeting people and is great with older kids, though cats are still an unknown. He’s not the type to chase tennis balls for hours, but he will happily keep you company while you sip coffee or work in the garden. Training & Habits He’s crate trained, house-trained, and while he doesn’t know formal commands, his eagerness to please makes him a quick learner. He’s not overly treat-motivated but will happily accept the occasional canned food snack. The Perfect Match If you’re looking for a relaxed, loyal friend who values companionship over constant activity, Jackson could be your guy. He’s healthy, neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and heartworm negative.  Adoption Details Jackson is adoptable through The London Sanctuary. His adoption fee is fully sponsored Home visits are required (non-negotiable). Fostered in: Baker County, FL Ready to give this gentle soul his happily-ever-after?
