Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Big Mac is a handsome and strong fella, estimated to be around two years old with a loving heart to match his size. Believed to likely be a Lab blend, he was found as a stray near Lake Iowa and is now ready for his forever home! This energetic boy loves attention and is a big fan of outdoor activities, particularly going for walks and spending time in a secure, fenced yard. His enthusiasm can make him a bit of a handful when he gets excited due to his strength and size, but he's making great progress with his manners and obedience training. Big Mac is looking for an active family that is comfortable with a large, powerful dog. The ideal home will be committed to continuing his training to help him blossom into the best companion he can be. With some guidance on his leash skills and general obedience, we know that Big Mac will be a loyal and loving addition to the right household.  Please complete an online adoption application for Big Mac if you're interested in meeting him! Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Spike is a senior gentleman, around 14 years young, who is ready to find the perfect quiet and comfortable retirement home. This sweet fella moves at a relaxed, easy pace. Spike adores every person he meets and his gentle nature makes him an absolute joy to be around! His favorite activities include cozying up for a nice long nap and enjoying the quiet companionship of his people. Spike is simply looking for a loving home and a soft bed to spend his remaining days, surrounded by comfort and kindness. Despite his age and slow pace, Spike still loves to venture outside for his daily strolls—he takes his time to sniff and enjoy the fresh air. These short outings, followed by a well-deserved nap, are the highlights of his day. Spike doesn't ask for much; just a consistent, loving environment where he can feel secure and cherished. He has been spending his most recent days in a loving foster home. He has learned the routine of his foster home well and has enjoyed getting to know the other resident dogs, cats, and children. He truly fits right in! If you have a quiet home and a big heart open to giving a deserving senior the absolute best final chapter he could ask for, Spike may be your boy! Give this sweet, gentle soul the comfort he deserves and watch him repay you with endless affection and quiet gratitude. Spike has been receiving daily medication for his arthritis so this is something any possible adopter should be prepared to continue to ensure the most comfortibility for this sweet fella. If you're interested in meeting Spike, please complete an online adoption application found on our website at www.wesavepets.com. Once your application has been submitted, a Safe Haven volunteer will be in touch to discuss the next steps of setting up a meet & greet. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 3, 2025, 6:01 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Nelson, a handsome and enthusiastic young boy who's ready to find his forever family! This lovely boy was found as a local stray near North English and, sadly, was never reclaimed. Estimated to be around 1.5 years old, Nelson is possibly a Labrador Retriever mix—we suspect he may have a touch of Red Heeler based on his unique, beautiful markings and the charming speckled spots on his legs. Nelson is the definition of an active boy; he is absolutely ready to 'go, go, go!' and would thrive with an owner who enjoys an energetic lifestyle, be it jogging or long hikes. What truly sets him apart is his wonderful disposition toward people: he is oh so friendly and incredibly affectionate, thriving on human interaction and attention, and he has yet to meet a stranger! We are still getting to know all of this boy's personality & quirks! We will be working on introducing him to other dogs to test his compatibility with canine companions soon, and also hope to check his reaction to felines. We know for certain that this handsome, friendly fella won't be with us long! We will be sure to update his profile and our social media postings as soon as we know more about his social skills with other pets. If you're interested in meeting Nelson, please complete an adoption application as the first step of the meet & greet process. This application can be found on our website at www.wesavepets.com. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.October 29, 2025, 7:48 am

Story
At 4½ months old and a mighty 14 pounds, Willa has officially mastered the art of being adorable while still keeping you on your toes. She’s the perfect mix of playful zooms, snuggle sessions, and puppy mischief — all wrapped up in a compact, easy-to-carry package. Willa’s mom was a Lab mix, but judging by her size and sass, we’re pretty sure her dad was a smaller mystery man with big energy (possibly the neighborhood Chihuahua, but we don’t gossip). She’ll grow to be a medium-sized dog, just the right size for couch cuddles and backyard adventures. This little lady loves to explore, play with toys, and hang out with her humans. She’s smart, affectionate, and loves being part of the action. Willa is still a puppy, so she’ll need patience, consistency, and lots of love as she continues learning. Willa will need a physically fenced yard to safely stretch her legs and show off her zoomies. If you’re looking for a fun-sized best friend who brings both laughter and love, Willa’s your girl. Willa is house trained, kennel trained, spayed, up to date on vaccinations, and microchipped. If you would like to meet Willa, please fill out the adoption application on our website: furfunrescue.org. If you have any questions about Willa you can contact Rox@furfunrescue.org or call 319-929-6657. Adopters must be within a two-hour radius of Cedar Rapids, IA. Indoor homes only. Adoption fee $300.

Story
Meet Princess, a 4-month-old, 15-pound bundle of sweetness who’s ready to be adored! Princess loves toys, chew bones, and gentle playtime, but her absolute favorite thing is snuggling. When it’s time for a nap, she’s happiest curled up next to a person or another dog. She’s affectionate, gentle, and always excited to make new friends, human or canine. Princess and her littermates were removed from their home by the Delaware County Sheriff in a neglect case when they were just a month old. Despite her rough beginning, Princess has been thriving ever since and has grown into a confident, loving puppy. As for her breed mix, Princess is a certified supermutt. Our best guess is a blend of Australian Shepherd, Border Collie, Labrador Retriever, Rottweiler, and Pit Bull—meaning she’s smart, loyal, and likely to be a medium to large adult. Princess will need a physically fenced yard where she can safely explore, play, and burn off puppy energy. If you’re looking for a sweet, snuggly, playful pup to grow up with your family, Princess just might be the perfect fit. Princess is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, and microchipped. If you would like to meet Princess, please complete the adoption application on our website: www.furfunrescue.org. If you have questions about Princess you can contact rox@furfunrescue.org or call 319-929-6657. Adopters must be within a two-hour radius of Cedar Rapids, IA.  Indoor homes only.  Adoption fee $300.
