Story
Mustang is a male Labrador Retriever mixed doggy who is about 4.5 years old. Sadly, he was surrendered to us after his owner passed away. Mustang is a free-spirited, independent boy with a lot of heart. He is dog-selective, so he would do best as the only dog or with careful introductions. Mustang would be a good fit for a home with older children who can respect his space and energy. He has a loyal nature and will do best with someone who understands dogs and appreciates his independent personality. He is described as a 'Free Spirit'. Intelligent, independent, confident and clever, I prefer making my own decisions but will listen to you if you make a good case. We’re partners in this adventure. Treat me like one and we’ll both live happily ever after. (Internally motivated). It is recommended that whenever you add a new animal to your household, it is done with a slow and monitored introduction. All our animals have been spayed/neutered (or will be arranged if currently too young). Dogs will be tested for heart worms, vaccinated against distemper/parvo and rabies. . Cats will be vaccinated against feline distemper and feline parvo, and have been wormed. . All animals will be bathed and treated for fleas/ear mites. Microchipping will take place at the time of adoption. Adoption fees: Cats - $105 for one or only $150 for two! Story
Lucky is a male Labrador Retriever mixed doggy who is about 4.5 years old. Sadly, he was surrendered to us after his owner passed away. Lucky is sweet and sensitive and has been through a lot recently. He came in with his companion, Mustang, after their owner sadly passed away. Because of this big change, Lucky can be a bit nervous at first and needs time to feel safe and comfortable—he was even unsure about having his picture taken, which shows how much reassurance he needs right now. Once he has a chance to settle in, Lucky shows his gentle nature. He does best with patient, understanding people who will let him warm up at his own pace. He is dog selective, so careful introductions are important, and he would likely thrive as the only dog or with a well-matched canine friend. Older children who can respect his boundaries should be okay for him. Lucky is looking for a calm, loving home where he can rebuild his confidence and feel secure again. With kindness, consistency, and a little time, this loyal boy has the potential to become a devoted and loving companion. He is described as a 'Wallflower'. Shy yet charming canine searching for a patient owner with a relaxed lifestyle. Looking for gentle guidance to help me come out of my shell. Treat me sweet and kind and I’ll blossom. (Internally motivated). It is recommended that whenever you add a new animal to your household, it is done with a slow and monitored introduction. Story
Hercules is a Retriever and Laab mixed pup who is just under 1 year old. He is described as a 'Busy Bee'. I’m a naturally playful, curious, and trusting canine. Take me for a big walk every day; give me something to do. After my job’s done, I’ll curl up in front of the fire with you in the evenings. (Externally motivated). Per his previous foster mom: Herky is a very happy boy that loves people, playing with his toys, and prancing around, holding his head up proudly. He loves greeting people and everyone says what a good and happy boy he is. When he is greeting people he can get a little up close and personal, but is always so sweet. He is an excellent guard dog with just the right amount of bark to be protective when someone is near the house, and doesn't bark without good reason. He loves snagging up tissues and napkins, so be warned not to leave those laying within his reach, unless you don't mind picking up the pieces later. He is good at entertaining himself. He loves going out on walks, running around freely, and plays really well with other dogs. He is learning sit, come, and stay. Since Hercules is still a puppy, it's best not to leave him unattended inside the house. He can't seem to help himself and probably get into something that he shouldn't. It is recommended that whenever you add a new animal to your household, it is done with a slow and monitored introduction. All our animals have been spayed/neutered (or will be arranged if currently too young). Dogs will be tested for heart worms, vaccinated against distemper/parvo and rabies. . Story
Carl is one big lovable goofball looking for a family who can appreciate all his quirks and charm. With his long legs, soulful eyes, and silly expressions, he’s got that “big puppy energy” in the best way. We suspect there’s a bit of Great Dane in his genes — not just because of his size, but also his gentle demeanor and goofy personality.Carl is sweet as can be and has a heart of gold, but don’t expect him to be in a rush to do things your way. He’s definitely got a stubborn streak — the kind that makes you laugh more than anything else. He might look at you like, “Are you sure we’re doing that?” before eventually deciding it’s a good idea (especially if treats are involved).Despite his size, Carl is incredibly gentle. He plays nicely, loves a good belly rub, and can often be found sprawled out in hilarious positions, legs everywhere, just living his best life. He`s still learning the ropes when it comes to manners, but he’s eager to please (in his own Carl way), and would thrive with someone who can keep training fun and consistent.Carl would do best in a home that has the space — and heart — for a big, playful, slightly clumsy guy who just wants to be loved. He’d enjoy a yard to romp in, maybe a canine sibling to play with, and a person or family who will embrace all the silliness he brings into the room.If you’re looking for a dog who will keep you laughing, snuggle up like he’s a lap dog, and love you with all his goofy heart — Carl might just be your perfect match. Our dog adoption fee is $150 and that includes up-to-date vaccinations and preventatives, spay/neuter, heart worm testing, and their microchip.Meet our adoptable pets Tuesday-Saturday from 1pm-4pm or get a head start on adoption by filling out our questionnaire at agcshelter.org/adopt-1

Story
Kiba is a young dog bursting with puppy energy and enthusiasm for life. He’s sweet, eager, and full of potential, but he’s still very much a puppy who is learning the ropes. Kiba will do best in a structured home that can provide consistent routines, regular exercise, and plenty of mental enrichment to help him thrive.Kiba is currently a bit on the skinny side and will need continued high-calorie meals (plus some extra goodies) to help him safely gain weight. With proper nutrition and care, he’s expected to fill out nicely. He’s a friendly, loving boy who just has a lot of puppy in him and will benefit from basic training to learn good manners and channel his energy in positive ways. The good news? Kiba does appear to be potty trained, which gives him a great head start.Kiba is looking for an adopter who understands young dogs, is ready to invest time and patience, and is excited to help a playful pup grow into a well-balanced companion. Our dog adoption fee is $150 and includes their neuter, microchip, heartworm testing, age appropriate vaccinations, and preventatives. You can find our adoption questionnaire at agcshelter.org/adopt-1 or stop in Tuesday-Saturday from 1pm-4pm to meet all of our adoptable pets!
