Story
Meet Redd, a sweet, gentle 2-year-old, 65 lb mixed breed. This cuddly couch potato is fully housebroken, has excellent manners, and is wonderful with kids. He's incredibly gentle with all people, taking treats with the softest mouth and waiting patiently for permission before eating. Redd is also a playful goofball who loves entertaining himself — he'll happily toss a toy for himself and go fetch it right back! He gets along great with female dogs but can't safely coexist with cats, and his impressive fence-jumping (he can clear 4 feet!) has led to a few biting incidents with male dogs — so he needs a home with no male dogs, cats, or small pets, and secure fencing or active daily exercise. Redd comes with vet records, food, and his favorite toys to help with the transition. Redd has so much love to give — he just can't wait to meet you!

Josie is joining us in Iowa after spending the last 6 months in a kill shelter in Texas. She avoiding euthanasia due to being a staff favorite but quickly the choice was unavoidable and we decided to try to get her adopted up here in Iowa! She is a very very sweet girl and does well with other dogs and is typically scared of cats. She is quiet in her kennel and keeps it spotless and is very well house trained. Story
Willa is 11 months old, 29 pounds, and somehow still waiting for someone to realize she’s the total package. Let’s fix that. This fun-sized girl is the perfect blend of playful and affectionate. She’s got zoomies that could power a small city, followed immediately by “guess I live in your lap now” energy. Compact, cuddly, and full of personality, Willa is basically the dog version of your favorite hoodie… if your hoodie occasionally sprinted through the yard at top speed. Willa’s mom was a Lab mix, but Willa kept things efficient and landed in that just-right medium size. Big enough for adventures, small enough to scoop up for a cuddle session. As for dad… we suspect a smaller mystery guest star with a bold personality, because Willa definitely brings a little extra sparkle to the mix. She loves toys, exploring, and being wherever her people are. If there’s something going on, Willa would like to be included, preferably in the center of it. She’s smart, engaged, and thrives on connection. Bonus feature: she’s great with other dogs and would absolutely love a playful canine buddy to share zoomies, toys, and life with. Willa is still young, which means she’s learning and growing every day. She’ll need a home that can offer consistency, patience, and a sense of humor when her puppy brain kicks in. A physically fenced yard is a must so she can safely stretch her legs and show off her signature moves. Here’s the truth: Willa isn’t just a “good dog.” She’s a why-is-she-still-available dog. If you’re looking for a best friend who will make you laugh, keep you moving, and then curl up beside you like she’s been yours forever… Willa is ready. Willa is very well house trained, kennel trained, spayed, up to date on vaccinations, and microchipped. If you would like to meet Willa, please fill out the adoption application on our website: furfunrescue.org. If you have any questions about Willa you can contact Rox@furfunrescue.org or call 319-929-6657. Adopters must be within a two-hour radius of Cedar Rapids, IA.  Indoor homes only.  Adoption fee $300.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Liberty!  One of the adorable 8 week old Lab/Border Collie mix puppies. They came to us as an owner surrender and They will be available for adoption beginning July 29, 2026. They are just beginning to learn about the world, which means they are not yet house trained, don't know basic commands, and will need plenty of patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement as they grow. The ideal adoptive family will be committed to taking a puppy obedience class to get started on the right foot - they will need a family that can commit to continue proper socialization and also all the work that goes into house-training a puppy, which requires a lot of patience and persistence with working on a schedule. Puppies need to be taken outside frequently - as often as every 3 to 4 hours in the beginning. So an ideal home for these puppies will be one where they won't have long periods of time during the day spent alone during the first few months, so they can have the best chance of successful house-training and have years of wonderful love and devotion to focus on! These puppies will be adopted out on a spay/neuter contract, which means their adoptive families will sign a contract stating the puppies will be spayed/neutered by the time they are 9 months old. Families will be required to bring their puppy back to Safe Haven for us to spay/neuter when the puppy is between 6 to 9 months old, at no additional cost. The other option for each adoptive family would be to have the surgery done with their veterinarian at the family's own cost, and provide us proof of that surgery once complete.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 20, 2026, 3:06 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Spike is a senior gentleman, around 14 years young, who is ready to find the perfect quiet and comfortable retirement home. This sweet fella moves at a relaxed, easy pace. Spike adores every person he meets and his gentle nature makes him an absolute joy to be around! His favorite activities include cozying up for a nice long nap and enjoying the quiet companionship of his people. Spike is simply looking for a loving home and a soft bed to spend his remaining days, surrounded by comfort and kindness. Despite his age and slow pace, Spike still loves to venture outside for his daily strolls—he takes his time to sniff and enjoy the fresh air. These short outings, followed by a well-deserved nap, are the highlights of his day. Spike doesn't ask for much; just a consistent, loving environment where he can feel secure and cherished. He has been spending his most recent days in a loving foster home. He has learned the routine of his foster home well and has enjoyed getting to know the other resident dogs, cats, and children. He truly fits right in! If you have a quiet home and a big heart open to giving a deserving senior the absolute best final chapter he could ask for, Spike may be your boy! Give this sweet, gentle soul the comfort he deserves and watch him repay you with endless affection and quiet gratitude. Spike has been receiving daily medication for his arthritis so this is something any possible adopter should be prepared to continue to ensure the most comfortibility for this sweet fella. If you're interested in meeting Spike, please complete an online adoption application found on our website at www.wesavepets.com. Once your application has been submitted, a Safe Haven volunteer will be in touch to discuss the next steps of setting up a meet & greet. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 20, 2026, 3:06 pm
