Story
Meet Zuri! Our beautiful 4 year old  girl that is mixed with all sorts of gorgeous dog elements that include Husky mix  (55%) and a touch of Lab and Pit mix.  This crystal blue eyed girl has waited a long time to have her chance to be offered for adoption.  You see she was part of a cruelty case back in the past and was severely malnourished and was pregnant with babies.  All her pretty babies have been adopted but poor Zuri is still looking for the right and confident owner.  She is in foster care and is totally crate trained and housebroken. She is ready now for a wonderful new family to call her own .  This girl is a mature and settled 4years old, 58 pound spayed, UTD on vaccinations, HW- and ready for the good life with a family that will love and cherish her forever. Her beautiful blue eyes and open personality will make you love her instantly.  This girl loves to run and play in the yard and absolutely loves the water! She does good as your passenger in the car for pup cup runs and would do good in a home with older, dog savvy children that are 8 years and above. She has good leash manners and doing well with housebreaking.  Zuri just wants her chance to prove that she’s a great family member and cuddle up with you at night!  If you are interested in this housebroken, crate trained, pretty girl that deserves the best life from her on out…please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com     PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comFebruary 19, 2025, 1:48 pm

Story
Meet Isaac – A Loyal, Lovable Lab Mix Looking for His Forever Adventure!   If you're looking for a best friend with a heart of gold, a playful spirit, and soulful eyes that say 'I’m ready to love you forever', then say hello to Isaac – the sweet and handsome black Lab mix who’s ready to start the next chapter of his life with YOU.   Isaac’s story began in a small-town litter of five puppies, where resources were few and adoption opportunities even fewer. Lucky for him, a kind senior gentleman saw something special in young Isaac and brought him home. But as Isaac grew into his playful, energetic self, it became clear that raising a rambunctious puppy wasn’t the right fit. With love and honesty, his adopter returned him—still believing Isaac deserved the best life possible.   Now 7 months old and 40 pounds of happy energy, Isaac has been given a fresh start through a dedicated rescue network—and he’s thriving! He’s already neutered, fully vetted, and well on his way to being housebroken (no more tiny puppy chaos!). Best of all, he’s past the intense chewing phase and settling into his more mature, eager-to-please self.   Friendly, affectionate, and people-focused Great older puppy energy—playful but manageable Would thrive with a fenced yard or active lifestyle‍&#226&#153&#130&#239&#184&#143 Loves to run, play, and stay active with his people Smart, alert, and ready to learn House training head start - doing great! Fully vetted, neutered, and healthy   Isaac greets everyone with a tail wag and a joyful presence. His kind face is full of hope, his spirit is loyal and loving, and his mission is simple: find a forever family who will treasure him just as much as he treasures them.   Whether you’re an active single looking for a trail buddy or a family searching for a loving companion to grow up alongside your kids, Isaac is ready to give you his heart—and maybe a few goofy zoomies, too.    To adopt this wonderful boy, email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com and give Isaac the home he’s been waiting for.   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comJuly 5, 2025, 1:19 pm

Story
Meet Puppy Coco!!  She is as sweet as Hershey's chocolate and as nutty as a Mounds bar!!!  If you're looking for a wonderful 5-month-old puppy to join your family, then you've found her!  Coco will not let you down.  She is full of energy and loves to play.  Coco has two speeds: all out and running around, or neutral, asleep, refueling to go again.  She gets along great with other dogs, and she loves people.  Coco would be a great family dog, but might be too much for toddlers.  She is working on DOWN, but does still jump on you.  We would not want anyone to get knocked over!  However, if that did happen, lots of kisses would let you know that Coco was sorry.  She is just 100% puppy.  Coco needs an active family.  A family that will teach her to walk like a lady, take her on hikes, or even run.    She would be in heaven with all this activity.  Coco would be an excellent companion for another active puppy or young dog.  She currently has playmates but could probably adjust to life as an only dog.  Humans are good playmates, too!  Coco is ready to find her forever family.  We hope it will be with you.  Coco is spayed, current on all shots, on monthly preventative and microchipped.  To be considered for Coco's forever family and to request an application, please contact Vivienne at vivienneajames@gmail.com.  APPROVED APPLICATION AND ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED.  (Coco is currently in Tennessee and can be transported north upon adoption.)July 9, 2025, 8:05 pm

Story
When Trace wandered out of the Natchez Trace, his tail gave the first hint of who he really is—gentle, hopeful, and longing for connection. This 2–3-year-old black and white Lab mix, possibly with some Great Pyrenees in his lineage, carries a sweetness that is impossible to miss. His 68-pound frame may look imposing at first, especially with his intense amber eyes, but anyone who meets him quickly discovers a soft-hearted boy who wants nothing more than to be loved.   Trace is wonderful with other dogs and has shown himself to be friendly and patient with cats as well. He enjoys staying close during walks and does well on a leash, making him a great match for someone who wants a loyal companion by their side. Despite his size, he carries himself with a gentle, easygoing nature that puts other animals—and people—at ease.   Because of whatever life he had before rescue, Trace is still learning about everyday things many dogs take for granted. Doorways, car rides, and new spaces can make him hesitate, but with patience and encouragement, he moves forward and gains confidence. Once he trusts someone, his playful side emerges, revealing a sweet, goofy boy who simply wants to be someone’s beloved family member.   Trace is ready for a home where he’s allowed to live indoors, relax at his person’s feet, and discover all the comforts of a life filled with security and affection. If this wonderful boy sounds like the gentle companion you’ve been searching for, please reach out to Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com. Trace is waiting for the chance to finally feel safe—and to give his whole heart to the person who chooses him.       PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comDecember 16, 2025, 10:26 pm

Story
Meet South, a handsome Great Pyrenees mix boy born on October 18th, who is already preparing for the most important journey of his life — traveling to the forever family he will love and grow old with.   South comes from a litter of ten adaptable, go-with-the-flow puppies who were exposed early to different environments and people. That early experience has shaped him into a confident, easygoing young dog who handles new situations with calm curiosity. He greets new people comfortably and does wonderfully with the other dogs in his foster home.   His Great Pyrenees mama’s influence shines brightly in South’s personality. He has a naturally calm, laid-back demeanor and a thoughtful presence that feels steady and reassuring. He takes treats gently, shares food from the same bowl with his brother without a hint of possessiveness, and moves through life without urgency or chaos.   While South enjoys playtime, he’s perfectly happy embracing his inner Pyr and being just a little bit lazy. One of his favorite pastimes is relaxing in his bed, quietly observing everything around him — very much like the guardian breeds who once watched over sheep and goats for hours on end. He also loves ear scratches, belly rubs, and the occasional chase of his own tail.   South is expected to be a large boy, likely 80–90 pounds, and because of his guardian instincts, apartment living would not be suitable. He will need a home with a yard where he can patrol, watch over his space, and feel fulfilled.   His calm, steady nature makes him an excellent candidate for someone seeking a deeply loyal companion — possibly even an emotional support dog for the right person. South is not a high-energy dynamo and won’t be your marathon partner, but if you’re looking for a peaceful, devoted presence by your side, he may be exactly who you’ve been waiting for.   South has already made a great start with potty training, showing a clear preference for going outside. He simply needs continued guidance to learn how to “ask” to go out.   This special boy is a true gem, ready to settle into the home where he belongs and bless his people with years of love and quiet companionship.    Please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at newengland@gmail.com if you are interested in making South your very own.       PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comDecember 26, 2025, 7:01 pm

Story
Velvet's special story with a happy ending yet to come.  When Velvet first arrived, her name felt almost too beautiful for the dog standing before us. She was thin, exhausted, and clearly had spent far too long scavenging for food and surviving on whatever scraps she could find. But even then, beneath the rough edges and the dull coat, there was something unmistakably special about her — a softness waiting to bloom, a gentleness that had survived everything she’d been through. Today, Velvet has become the dog her name promised she would be. At two years old and around 50 pounds, this Chocolate Lab has transformed into a joyful, affectionate, toy-toting sweetheart who simply radiates gratitude. Her foster family says she wakes up each day with a smiling face and a constantly wagging tail, happy for things most dogs take for granted: regular meals, a warm bed, the freedom to roam the house, and people who treat her with kindness. She loves carrying toys and balls around, proudly offering them to you as her way of saying, “Let’s play. I trust you.” Velvet is a gentle, easygoing girl who is fully housebroken, crate trained, and wonderfully well-mannered, though being crated for long hours is something she hopes to leave in her past. She came from a life where she was confined far too much, and she blossoms when she’s given space, companionship, and the simple joy of being part of a home. She is not destructive when left loose — in fact, give her a toy or two and she is content and peaceful. This sweet girl was also a devoted mom to a July 4th litter — Blair, Boone, and Brewster — all of whom we rescued alongside her. With her puppies safe and growing, Velvet is finally getting the chance to live her own life. Her foster mom lights up when she talks about her and says Velvet is the kind of dog who gets into your heart quietly but deeply, simply by being her gentle, grateful self. Velvet is ready for a home that will let her sleep on a soft dog bed, enjoy companionship throughout the day, and experience comfort instead of confinement. If you work long hours, she would benefit from doggie daycare a couple of days a week if you work out of the house.  There she can enjoy playtime and routine with fewer days being crated. What she wants more than anything is a family who sees the beauty in her soul — a family who understands how far she’s come and is excited to give her the wonderful life she deserves. If you’re searching for a tender-hearted, loyal companion who will fill your home with warmth and joy, Velvet may be the perfect addition to your family.
