She’s done great living with other large dogs and has shown patience and adaptability once given time to settle in. Velma would thrive in a calm home with a patient, experienced adopter—preferably without cats—and would do best with older, respectful kids. Bandit is a 10-year-old, 68 lb Lab mix with the heart and humor of a 7th-grade boy — goofy, loving, and learning every day. He’s loyal to his circle and eager to find his forever family who’ll include him in all their adventures. Bandit thrives on activity — running next to an ATV, swimming, or playing fetch are his absolute favorites — and after a good workout, he’s the happiest, most relaxed boy around. Story

Oreo was found on the streets of Detroit by my spouse co-worker. They took him in, but could not keep him long term. We met up with them in OH to transfer ownership and bring him home in Dec of 2024. We had no history for him and are unsure of breed other than black lab mix. He was just about 7 months old at that time. He is a sweet dog who was very nervous at first but learns new tricks easily (very treat motivated). We still use a slow bowl because he inhales every meal, but he loves to cuddle, play and jump. He got away from us in September and was hit by a truck which broke his jaw. We got that fixed and he healed up so well even the vet was surprised. We love him, but he does not like cats so our rescue cat pretty much just comes into the house for food now. He is great with our kids aged 9-13, he loves to play. They play chase games and fetch. He loves to play tug-o-war. We would really love to find him a good home since he has had a pretty rough life so far.

At just 10 weeks, Pepper is doing so well with crate training and potty training. She is figuring out that she needs to go to the door to tell her humans when it’s potty time, to sit when it’s treat time, and that the kennel means it’s sleepy time. Pepper loves to play in the snow and is learning to fetch. Kids are her favorite humans. She has lots of kisses for them and loves to snuggle up with them when it’s nap time. Pepper is curious but cautious with strange people and dogs but warms up to them quickly. Pepper’s ears are conspicuously adorable and she can aim them just about any direction she wants to without moving her head. When you come home, Pepper’s so happy to see you that she can’t keep her little body from wiggling. No matter how busy she is, Pepper will stop and stand still for belly rubs and butt scratches. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hi! My name is Peach, and I’m starting to settle in after spending a week with my foster family. I’m still a bit nervous when I meet new people—especially men—so I need some time to feel comfortable and safe with new faces. I might bark or growl at first, but I haven’t shown any aggression. I don’t like being left alone, so a home where someone is around most of the time would be ideal for me. I’m not a fan of the crate and tend to panic a bit when closed in. I’ve also been known to do a little “counter surfing” and believe that finders are keepers, so for everyone’s sake, it’s best to keep tempting things out of reach! I go for three to four walks every day to practice my leash manners and build my confidence around new people. That’s helped a lot—and I haven’t had any potty issues in the house! I really enjoy the company of the resident dog here. He’s teaching me to trust people, sit for treats, walk nicely on a leash, and be part of a family. We play together, which helps burn off my bursts of puppy energy—even though I’m almost three years old! When he’s not in the mood to play, I can happily entertain myself with a toy. Tennis balls are the best! Shared walls aren’t ideal for me — I tend to bark when I hear unfamiliar or unexpected noises. At night, my favorite place to sleep is near my humans—definitely in the same room, but ideally right next to you in bed. Once I feel safe and snuggled in, I’ll curl up close and snore softly beside you. Peach was found as a stray. Now 1 year old, Dottie is blossoming into a more confident, joyful girl every day—and her love for people is truly her standout trait. She absolutely adores humans and thrives in a home with lots of love and interaction. With people coming and going, she’s happiest making the rounds for pets and kisses. A big crowd arriving all at once can be a little overwhelming at first, but give her a moment and she’ll be right there, making sure no one is missed. Dottie is a total Velcro dog who wants to be as close to her person as physically possible. She loves to snuggle and is an excellent cuddle buddy—she sleeps soundly through the night, doesn’t toss or turn, and knows exactly how to settle in. While she does well in a kennel, she would truly thrive in a home where she can sleep near you or even share the bed. She enjoys spending time outdoors sniffing all the exciting smells, collecting sticks, and going for walks. She walks nicely on leash, though her curious nose can sometimes lead the way. At home, she loves chewing on bones, hard toys, squeaky toys, and yes—cardboard, which she finds especially fun to shred. After playtime, she’s happiest curled up with a soft blanket and her favorite human. With other dogs, Dottie needs very slow, proper introductions and some time to feel comfortable. Once she settles in, she can play well and coexist nicely. Her profile notes that she would do best in a cat-free home, but in her one real-life interaction with a cat, she actually did very well—arguably better than she does with dogs. With slow, thoughtful introductions, living with a cat may be a possibility. Dottie is both potty trained and kennel trained, but she’s still working on independence and manners. She’s a smart girl who would benefit greatly from continued obedience training and gentle guidance. Overall, she has all the potential to be an absolutely incredible dog—she just needs a bit of hand-holding, structure, and patience as she continues to figure things out.
