Story
Please allow me to introduce Windy. Adopted from a rescue 8 years ago, she is now around 10 years old. Sadly, our child has developed an intolerance to her and we are searching for her ideal forever home -- a family who adores her as much as we do. Windy is a black lab-mix weighing 72 pounds. She received a clean bill of health at her vet visit on 4/27/24. She did test positive for anaplasmosis (a tick borne illness), but is not symptomatic and was treated with doxycycline. Windy is spayed, microchipped, and current on all vaccines. Windy adores people, is endlessly tolerant of children of all ages, and is patient with her canine friends. She has trouble meeting new dogs, but does well once properly introduced. She is not compatible with cats or other pets. Windy can be anxious about separation and wants to be wherever her people are. She has so much love to give and would be a great fit for someone experienced with handling large, strong dogs. We want the best for her.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hey there, I'm Domino Dancer, your friendly, energetic, new best friend. My foster mom told me to write a little bit about myself so here we go. I am the life of the party. I love people and dogs, wholeheartedly. My foster mom says that I am a lot, and I think she means my energy level. I love running and playing and jumping. I love toys. I am crate trained and generally quiet during my down time. I am potty trained too!  I adore other dogs, but many find my energy off putting. My play style varies between wrestling and playing chase and I can play for hours without getting tired enough to stop. Thankfully my best friend Lily, also available with Ruff Start, gets that and is happy to have marathon play sessions.    I am just an earnest, loving guy with a ton of energy. I am looking for a forever home that will continue working with me and provide me outlets for my energy. I would love to try out agility, or even be your training buddy for a marathon. If you are looking for a handsome side kick, I could be your new bestie.    Here is a link to my YouTube playlist if you want to see in me in action: https://youtu.be/VvaHseuNF1s?si=oYH1v2ZkoU9ep9zF Domino Dancer is from a local shelter. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Greetings! My name is Chispita but Pita to my pals. I’m a high energy, fun loving girl with lots of love and snuggles to give!  During the day, you can catch me looking out the window at nature, wresting with my foster brothers (dogs), and chasing the resident cat (probably more than I should). I’m also a big fan of lick mats, puzzles and destroying toys. When it’s time for bed, I sleep with my human but I will reluctantly go into my crate when told to. I can come off a little bit shy but it doesn’t last too long. I also have not met any young children since being in MN, but I’m sure they are great. I mean, just look at what my foster mom dressed me in and I was a perfect girl :)    Thank you for considering me!   Love,  Pita    “Pita is honestly so sweet, super silly and an overall amazing dog! She’s come a long way in rescue and will only continue to thrive with a dedicated family.” - Current Foster Chispita is from Texas. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hoover is such a cute dog-he looks like a micro mini lab-so fun!  He is also very affectionate-once you are his person he will crawl into your lap and rest his head.  He is very cautious of strangers and barks, but when introduced with treats he quickly becomes your best friend. Hoover loves his walks and slips right into his harness so his walk can begin. He would love to find an active family for hikes and walks! Meal time for Hoover is his absolute favorite! He'll rush to his crate so he can dive into his kibble.   Hoover's ideal home would be a quiet home in a rural settling. Hoover is a good boy-let us know if you are his forever family! Hoover is an owner surrender. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Noelle, affectionately known as Mama or Ellie. At around 2 years old, she exhibits signs of prior training, evident in her housebroken manners and ability to sit on command. Noelle's enthusiasm for food makes her a quick learner, although she can be possessive about treats, even claiming closed bags of dog food as her own. Toys are Noelle's passion, with balls being her absolute favorite. She adeptly catches them and often returns them for another round of play. If she wants you to join in, she'll even toss the toy your way as a playful hint. At night, Noelle sleeps peacefully on the bed, providing warmth and companionship, although be prepared for her to claim a significant portion of your lap with her 50-pound frame. Noelle struggles with skin allergies, requiring monthly cytopoint injections, and may need a dietary adjustment to manage her condition effectively. While she may vocalize her concerns at the sight of strangers or unfamiliar noises, her barking remains within reasonable bounds. Noelle's leash manners could use a bit of improvement, and she tends to jump up in excitement when greeting you at the door. Here’s a sweet video of Noelle . Despite her quirks, Noelle is a sweetheart, having demonstrated excellent maternal instincts with her puppies. Let's work together to find her the loving forever home she deserves! You might recognize Noelle; she's a bit of a TV star! Noelle was featured on WCCO with Ruff Start Rescue!   Noelle is from one of our northern reservation partners.
