Story
We adopted Jupiter from the humane society when he was 12 weeks old, he will be 3 in January 2026. He came into our lives when our little one was just 15 months old and learned how to interact with her and become aware of a child's energy. He peacefully co-exists with cats. Jupiter has big and bright energy. He likes to run and play quite a lot, but is adaptable and can chill out when needed. The most ideal home would be one with land or a big dog yard for him to get exercise, and with an owner(s) who have spaciousness to engage him. Another dog in the home would be a plus, because he loves play so much, but he is also a great solo companion. He is very house trained, is so cuddly in the evenings and is generally just such a sweetheart. We want to find him a home that embraces him and supports his thriving.

Attention: This is a courtesy posting only! This pet is NOT available through Mountain Pet Rescue.  Please do NOT contact MPR for information about the pet or apply to adopt this pet on the MPR website.  Contact travis.picquet@gmail.com for more information or to adopt the pet. This is Buddy!!  Buddy is a super-smart, fun, loving cuddle machine.  He is around 2 years old and likes to play with his toys, but also is always down for a big snuggle & a nap. Buddy needs to be the only dog in the home, which is why we unfortunately need to find a new home for him. We adopted him about 6 weeks ago, and he has learned basic training commands quickly and listens really well!Buddy is very loyal and will love you so deeply! He is a big baby who simply just enjoys being in your company. Buddy will make you fall in love with him instantly and will be a wonderful pet to the right home. Here are important things to know about Buddy:-He is neutered.-He needs to be the only dog in the home.-He can get along with some dogs, but has been aggressive towards others. It is best to have him not interact with other dogs.-He can be protective of your home, but once introductions are done properly outside of your house, he will snuggle all your human guests and warm right up!-When we adopted him, he was extremely neglected and starved, but he is now a fed, happy boy!-Buddy is still learning and seemed to have little socialization before; he will need your help in training him further!Contact me today at travis.picquet@gmail.com to learn more about or meet sweet Buddy! All Mountain Pet Rescue (Asheville) animals are up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed/neutered and micro-chipped before adoption. Contact the foster parent or Mountain Pet Rescue at pets@mpravl.org for more information. Please note that visual breed identification of companion animals has been proven to be unreliable, so for most of our animals we provide a best guess at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our animals as an individual and do our best to describe and place pets based on personality not breed label. Mountain Pet Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit tax deductible charity (EIN 82-3039637) located in Asheville, NC. June 12, 2026, 12:31 pm

Story
Meet Kehlani 💛Kehlani’s journey hasn’t been the easiest but you’d never guess it by the sweet, loving girl she is today. When she first came to us over two months ago, she was extremely under-socialized and frightened of just about everything… leashes, people, other animals, even her food bowl being set down. On top of that, she was battling parvo.Fast forward to now, and Kehlani is nothing short of a little miracle. She has fully recovered from parvo, gained the weight she needed, and most importantly found her confidence. Watching her blossom has been so special.Today, Kehlani is a happy, gentle soul who loves treats (seriously… loves them), enjoys going on hikes, and is learning that meeting new dogs is amazing! She’s a mellow girl overall, but she definitely has her playful side especially when a squeaky toy is involved. Give her a squeaker ball and she’ll happily entertain herself, then come right back for affection. She’s incredibly submissive and affectionate, and once she trusts you, she’ll stick close by your side. Kehlani is very food motivated, which makes building that bond with her even easier snacks are absolutely the way to her heart!Kehlani would do best with a patient, loving family who understands she may still need a little reassurance as she continues to grow into her best self. In return, she’ll give you the sweetest companionship and a front-row seat to her continued glow-up.If you’re looking for a resilient, gentle, snack-loving best friend, Kehlani is your girl!! 🐾Puppies 6 months and under are typically $200 and dogs from 7 months to 6 years are typically $100.00. The adoption fee may be higher or lower than stated however, and is dependent on many factors including age, behavior, medical condition and demand. All dogs 7 years and older are free under our Saving Seniors program. We frequently run discount specials and occasionally a dog will be more than the stated fee. Most cats and kittens are $35.00, however there may be instances in which the fee is higher or lower, due to age, behavior, medical condition or demand. With felines, we always have an "Adopt one, bring another one home for free" adoption special!

Story
🐾 Meet Bebe 🐾Bebe is a 3.5-year-old Shar-Pei mix who has already lived through more than any dog ever should. She and seven other dogs were heartbreakingly dumped and arrived in our care in rough shape — but despite it all, Bebe’s gentle, forgiving spirit continues to shine through. At first, she can be a little unsure — after all, life hasn’t always been kind to her — but once she realizes you’re someone who won’t hurt her, her sweetness absolutely blossoms. She leans in for love, wags her tail shyly, and starts to let her true, tender personality show. You might notice Bebe’s skin and coat are still healing, and we want to clear up the biggest question right away:✨ Her condition is caused by Demodex mange — and it’s NOT contagious! ✨Here’s what that means:• Demodectic mange is caused by microscopic mites called Demodex.• These mites are normally present in small numbers on most dogs (and even people!) without causing any issues.• When a dog’s immune system becomes compromised — often due to neglect, stress, or poor nutrition — the mites can overgrow, leading to hair loss and irritated skin. With proper care, love, and a little time, Bebe’s skin and coat will continue to heal beautifully!Bebe is great with other dogs and finds comfort being around them — it’s like she knows they’ve been through the same things. She’s slowly learning what it means to just be a dog: playing with toys, enjoying treats, and realizing she doesn’t have to worry about survival anymore. She and her friends are all incredibly sweet, gentle, and deserving of so much more than the cards they were dealt. Bebe is ready for the next chapter — one filled with safety, kindness, and unconditional love. 💛Puppies 6 months and under are typically $200 and dogs from 7 months to 6 years are typically $100.00.
