Story
Amelie is a wonderful girl, but I've recently developed some pretty severe allergies, and we're unable to have two dogs in our home. Her coat is striking and lovely, but the dander from two is just two much for my immune system. While she's an anxious girl who doesn't love thunderstorms, she's extremely loving with children and other in-home pets. She's anxious around other dogs, but she will settle into the dog park with repeat exposure. (We've done this many a time.) Amelie is for someone who has a lot of space for her to run and loves to have a dog at their feet at all times. She will follow you everywhere you go! She doesn't take well to car rides (the vet is it), but this problem is completely eradicated when she's in the open bed of a truck. Otherwise, she's happy to run around at home! You won't find a better cuddle bug!! She'll be anxious at first, but she'll love you harder than you've ever been loved!

Story
Rhodie is an absolute gem! He’s the sweetest boy who loves children & other dogs. He’s shy at first, but will slowly warm up as he gets to know you. Rhodie is house trained & does not have any bad chewing or related habits. After Hurricane Helene in Asheville, our family moved into a duplex style, split-level home. The increased noises throughout the day really stress him out. We’ve tried everything, but the poor guy feels anxious and stressed at all times. He needs to be in a traditional home, he will not do well in an apartment or duplex. He currently lives with a large dog (as shown in photos) and a 4 year old. We are heartbroken to say goodbye, but he is miserable in his current situation and needs relief.

Story
Our little pup that was dumped in our driveway at 10PM one night, Cinder, is now ready for some adoption applications to start rolling in - he is estimated to be 10-11 weeks old now and he is a mutt without a doubt but has a lot of lab in him - he is a very social little guy , he does great with other dogs, doing well with housebreaking but of course if you have had a puppy before you know patience and consistency is the key - at his last vet visit on 4/15 he was 10 pounds - we do think he will be close to 50 pounds full grown. Those soulful eyes will melt your heart without a doubt - summer time is here and the perfect time to add a puppy to your family and Cinder says he would love to check off "forever home found" on his to do list. Interested in adopting Cinder - go to our website www.boxerbuttsandothermutts.org and fill out our adoption application His adoption fee is $250.00 - this includes the rescue paying for his remaining puppy vaccines and Rabies vaccine and his neuter and pre-surgical bloodwork - he is currently up to date on age appropriate vaccines but will need 2 more boosters that the rescue will cover , he has been dewormed and microchipped. This was without a doubt not a planned rescue as nobody expects a puppy in a basket in your driveway late at night but it happened and it is up to us to show him that the rest of his life will be nothing but the best. As a reminder - we do not have a facility - all of our dogs are in private foster homes throughout Western North Carolina and Upstate South Carolina Don't wait - head on over to our website and fill out that adoption application and give Cinder a new last name - he is ready We do require vet references and a home visit as well

Story
Hi, my name is Ruckus, I was dumped at the Highland Armory/Highland Recreation Center during really bad storms and rain for 4 days. The sweet family who rescued me was told I’m a pitbull/lab mix. I am just over a year old, and they were told my birthday is 04/26/2023! At my previous home, I used to live with three other dogs, but they would beat me up and bully me, so I’m a little timid about new dogs. Though I do love people, big or small, I love them all. I love to give kisses and cuddle up with you every chance I get, I’m not the best in a kennel as I get lonely and have separation anxiety. My rescue family tried introducing me to their dogs, but I’m still scared and growl when I see them, so it’s best I’m the only pet in your home! I have shown that I’m teachable and love to do tricks for treats! I am house trained and have not had an accident at all with my rescue family. I’ve shown my rescue dad that I can sit, give paw, lay down, tug on toys, and even play fetch. (though I’m still figuring out that I need to give it back) I have been to the vet and have had all of my shots, I just need a couple of boosters! I have been tested and do not have any intestinal parasites or heart worms. I have started taking Simparica Trio to keep me from getting heartworm, fleas, ticks, or other intestinal parasites. I’d love to find my foster or furever home. Especially if my rescue family can stay in contact with me! Adoption fee $175 Adoption Application: mercyrescue.org

Story
We adopted Jupiter from the humane society when he was just 12 weeks old. He was there with his brother, who was adopted by our dear friends a day later. He came into our lives when our little one was just 15 months old and learned how to interact with her and become aware of her energy, which has allowed for a harmonious co-existence between them. He also can peacefully co-exist with another cat, given the occasional urge to want to play. The great thing is that cats have a voice and when they express, Jupiter learns to listen. Jupiter has big energy. He likes to run like a bolt of lightning through deep woods and needs lots of exercise and play time. He also knows how to relax when the time calls for it and has learned how to honor our toddler's naptimes. He is mindful in the mornings with allowing for as much space as possible for us to rise when we are ready so he can be let outside. He is VERY house trained and does not get on beds but does like the luxury of laying on couches.
