Story
(DOB 05/24/2016) Don't you want to be Halo's angel? Halo, a dapper and mature gentleman is looking for his perfect human. My fostermom says I'm quite good on the leash & by quite she means; I do my best to not pull her and walk gently by her side. I love long, leisurely walks and sniffing around to see what';s new in the neighborhood. I am a master of both activity and relaxation. When I'm feeling frisky, a few backyard zoomies are always fun. Other times, you'll find me soaking up the sun on the deck, watching the world go by. After a good day, I love nothing more than cuddling up on the couch under my warm, super-soft blankie. It makes me feel so safe and loved. I've learned to be a good housemate, too. When my foster mom leaves, I go into my crate for a nap and just sleep until she comes back. I don't get & get "barky", but I will let you know if a stranger comes into the yard—it's the least I can do! This makes me a great candidate for an apartment or condo, as long as I get my regular potty breaks. I've met cats and they don't bother me. But, full disclosure, I do get a little excited about chasing squirrels, so my human would need to be mindful of that. I prefer to be the center of attention and would love to be your one and only fur-baby. I might be open to a chill,similarly-sized female dog after a proper introduction. (I do love my foster sister and will even curl up with her on the couch, but I’m choosy about my doggy friends.) I have not been around children so not sure how I’d react but foster mommy thinks that because Istartle with loud sounds and quick movements, it would be best if I didn’t have children around. I promise to give you my whole heart and be your most loyal and affectionate companion. If you're ready for heaven on earth, let's meet soon! As part of Halo’s $300 adoption fee, he will be neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet little boy, you can email  Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Halo, you can fill in an online application for him under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org. ##2131279##

Story
(DOB 04/17/2025)   This beautiful boy is a high-energy pup with a zest for life and a heart full of love. He's at a perfect age and is bursting with playful energy and needs plenty of space and active human to thrive. A fenced-in yard (4–5 feet high, please!) is a must so he can run, romp, and zoom to his heart’s content. He’s not an apartment dog — he’s got a bit of a voice and isn’t afraid to use it when he's excited or trying to communicate. This smart boy is curious, treat-motivated, and eager to learn. Orion loves being outside, going on long walks (still working on nice walking on leash), and coming home ready for more playtime. He does best when he's mentally and physically engaged, so puzzle toys, training games, and active play are right up his alley.  Orion is crate trained and already showing signs of being a great communicator. He’ll let you know when he needs a potty break, but like most puppies his age, he’s still working on full house training and does best with supervision. He’d love a home full of toys, tasty chew bones, and people who enjoy the silly side of puppy life. While Orion may still want to play with the resident kitty, he could coexist with a confident, dog-savvy cat who doesn’t mind a little puppy curiosity. Orion needs another playful dog in the home — he truly shines when he has a buddy to wrestle with, chase around the yard, and help burn off his extra energy. If you already have a dog who could use a fun-loving sibling, Orion could be the perfect match! He would also do well with kids who are ready for puppy energy and enjoy outdoor play, or with active adults who can give him the structure and activity he craves. As part of Orion’s $325 adoption fee, he will be neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives.   If you have questions about this sweet little boy, you can email  Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Orion, you can fill in an online application for him under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org.   ##2425512##

Story
(DOB 02/13/2023) With his silly antics, playful energy, and heart of gold, Myers is the kind of dog who will keep you laughing and smiling every single day. Whether he's romping around with his dog friends, trying to chew on your feet, or tossing a toy around on his own, this guy knows how to have a good time. Myers adores other dogs and would thrive with a playful companion—but he’d also be happy as your one and only pup, as long as he gets plenty of love and activity. He’s crate trained, house trained, and always ready to share his joy with the world. He loves being outside so a home with a fenced in yard would be ideal!  While we don’t know much about his past, x-rays revealed several old BB pellets in his backside, which have made him a bit sensitive to touch in that area, especially with new people. Because of this, Myers would do best in a home with no children or older children who understand and respect his needs. Even with that, Myers is the epitome, the perfect example, of not letting bad things bring you down...he is the exact opposite; joy, love, and happiness! Now, Myers is ready to bring all his goofball charm to a family who will love him for the happy, resilient sweetheart he is! As part of Myers’s $300 adoption fee, he will be neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet little boy, you can email  Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt DOG, you can fill in an online application for him under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org. ##2335804##

Story
(DOB 07/13/2024) Lola is a sweet and playful girl who’s happiest when she’s wrestling with her doggy pals or chewing a bone on the couch. She's a great size at just 40 lbs and is a great combo of playful and couch potato!  Lola is a shy pup but having a confident doggy friend really brings her out of her shell. She is looking for a home with a fenced in yard for her and her future bff to romp around in. Lola was living in a Taco Bell parking lot before some good Samaritans befriended her, trapped her, and brought her to the safety of a foster home. Once she was able to relax, she quickly learned that couches are comfy, that leashes aren't the devil, made lots of doggy friends, and that being a house dog is pretty darn great. Now she is ready to take all that she's learned to her permanent home!  As part of Lola’s $300 adoption fee, she is spayed, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet little girl, you can email  Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Lola, you can fill in an online application for her under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org. ##2347484##
