Hello! Moose is 8 years old. We adopted him from the Durham county shelter 6 years ago. He is microchipped and neutered. Moose is a big dog, about 100 lbs. He is a pyrenees labrador mix. He is very gentle with children. He has been around since my eldest child was 2, she's 8 now. And around our youngest since she was a baby. Our toddler hugs him, leans on him and he loves it! Moose is good with other dogs but he gets very excited and barky when he first sees another dog. Once he gets close to the other dog he will sniff them and want to play. Moose is a very chill dog who likes long walks at least 2 walks -morning/evening. Unfortunately we are moving and having another child and cannot keep him. It is very sad for our family but we want the best quality of life for him and feel like he isn't getting that at the moment. We would love him to have more outdoor and park time. And to continue getting the love he deserves. If that's you, consider adopting Moose!

This sweet girl has been by my side for 11 years. I got her while I was in college, and since then, she has been with me through so many different chapters, changes, and milestones in my life. She has truly been more than just a dog — she has been family and a constant companion for a huge part of my adult life. She is a Lab/Terrier mix with a happy, loving personality. Even at 11 years old, she still has plenty of energy, is in great health, and loves being around people. She has always gotten along well with just about everyone she meets and was even once an emotional support dog at a daycare, where she was surrounded by children and lots of activity. Unfortunately, life has brought me through several transitions, and I am currently going through another major change that has made it difficult for me to continue giving her the time, attention, and stability she deserves. Making the decision to rehome her has not been easy at all, especially after having her for so many years.

Hi, I’m St Ives of Sploot (if you know you know!… and if you don’t, my foster mom will be glad to explain my name when you come to meet me!). My friends (so basically everyone I meet) call me Ivy. At 12 years young, I am living proof that age is just a number. Even though I came into the shelter as a stray in a bit of rough shape, I am improving every day and having a real glow-up moment with the help of my foster family. Foster mom says I’m literally as sweet and gentle as they come. She also says I’ve mastered the art of being the perfect dog, so people shouldn’t overlook me because of my age. I bring all the best parts of a seasoned pup: a loving heart, great manners, an easy calming presence that makes me such a joy to have around, and not to mention I'm house trained and don't chew on things I shouldn't! I do have some arthritis in my back legs, but don’t worry, I don’t let it stop me from loving life. My arthritis is super easy to manage with the daily med I love taking – because it means I get some peanut butter! I’m in great health otherwise and still love going on walks – granted I prefer short walks due to my arthritis, and love stopping to smell all the smells around me! I walk great on my leash – and will even carry it to the door for you – that’s what a good girl I am. Then, after a good sniff session, I’m happiest curled up on my bed near my people or cuddling on the couch where I can get my nap on. I’m great around kids and people of any age. I get along with dogs (with slow intros of course), love car rides, and sleep through the night! My only ask is a house without many steps (or an adopter willing to make some easy modifications for me) so I can keep living my best life. I still have so much love to give and joy to share! I hope you’ll see the number of times I’ve been around the sun as the advantage it is, and realize how worthy of a second chance I am – you won’t regret it.

This guy’s a special one. Trout won over his foster during a dog-day-out at the shelter and he has blossomed so much already out of the shelter. Trout can be shy at first, so he’ll need someone patient and understanding. But once you earn his trust, he opens up fast — and that’s when the real Trout emerges: goofy, playful, and a little awkward thanks to those long, lanky limbs. He’ll have you laughing in no time. He learns quickly and walks well on leash. He would love an active adopter that loves to play tug or go for runs. Trout is crate trained and making progress with house training. He enjoys being around other dogs and would do well with a resident dog to learn from and lean on but it’s not a requirement.
