Story
(DOB 11/20/2024) Butter Bean (BB) is heartworm positive, but please don't let that stop you from adopting him.  He is a loving boy that deserves a loving home and the rescue will cover his treatment.  For this reason, he is available for adoption within a 1 hour radius of Wake Forest, NC so he can receive the treatent at our partner veterinarian.  We will guide you through the process. If you’re looking for a fun-loving, go-go-go kind of companion, Butter Bean might just be your perfect match. Butter Bean is a young, energetic, and very athletic boy who thrives on activity and connection. He would do best in an active home with a family who enjoys long walks, hikes, or backyard play sessions. Fetch (or chase!) in a securely fenced yard is one of his favorite pastimes, and he’s happiest when he gets both physical exercise and quality time with his people. He’s dog-friendly and would be thrilled to have another playful canine friend in the home. That said, Butter Bean could also shine as an only dog in a work-from-home or stay-at-home setup, as long as he isn’t left alone for long stretches. If he’s your one and only, doggy daycare would be a fantastic outlet for his energy and social side. Butter Bean isn’t a big fan of being crated, but he does tolerate it when needed. He appears to be house-trained as long as he’s shown where to go and kept on a consistent routine. He’s also super food-motivated, which makes training a fun and rewarding experience for everyone involved. His leash skills are decent now, and he’s eager to keep learning right alongside you. Butter Bean is the kind of dog who will keep you moving, make you laugh, and fill your days with joy. If you’re ready for an active, affectionate companion who just wants to be part of your world, Butter Bean is ready to meet you. As part of Butter Bean’s $300 adoption fee, he will be neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet pup, you can email: Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org. If you wish to adopt Butter Bean, you can fill out an online application for him under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website: www.pawsforlifenc.org. ##2611059##

Story
(DOB 10/31/2022) Jazzy (aka JJ for short or Jazzy-Jazz when you’re feelin’ fun!) a stunning blue-gray beauty with soulful, show-stopping eyes and a personality to match. Weimaraner's are often referred to as the “Gray Ghost,” and you will see why; this gorgeous girl turns heads everywhere she goes and is ready to steal hearts just as easily. Jazzy is a wonderfully flexible, easy-to-love pup who would thrive in a variety of homes. While she’s past her puppy stage, don’t be fooled, she still has bursts of joyful puppy energy complete with zoomies that will make you laugh. She balances playtime and downtime beautifully, loving to romp with her humans and doggy friends in a fenced in yard (yes, Jazzy is looking for a home w/a great fenced in yard so no apartments, condos or townhomes), then happily chill on her own when it’s time to relax. A true people dog, Jazzy does great with other dogs and kiddos and would especially enjoy a home that includes fun, active children. She hasn’t met cats yet. She’s house-trained and crate-trained, though her favorite place to snooze is either on her foster’s bed or in her own cozy bed nearby. One of her cutest quirks? She has a beloved personal blankie she likes to gently suck on completely adorable. Jazzy is already working on her leash manners and is eager to keep learning. She also loves car rides and adventures, making her an excellent road-trip companion. A securely fenced yard is a must for this girl so she can run, play, and stretch her long legs. Another playful dog would be amazing, but it’s not required as long as her family is committed to daily walks/jogs, and interactive play. One important note: Jazzy prefers to enjoy her food and treats solo, so separate feeding is required to keep everyone happy and drama-free. Also, this girl is not shy about using her beautiful voice. She is definitely a bit of a talker. If you’re looking for a beautiful, unique, joyful companion who’s equal parts playful, affectionate, and adventurous, Jazzy-Jazz may be your perfect match. She’s ready to make her forever family very, very happy. As part of Jazzy’s $300 adoption fee, she will be spayed, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet girl, you can email: Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org. If you wish to adopt Jazzy, you can complete an online application for her under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website: www.pawsforlifenc.org. ##2605850##

Story
(DOB 07/13/2024) Lola is a sweet and playful girl who’s happiest when she’s wrestling with her doggy pals or chewing a bone on the couch. She's a great size at just 40 lbs and is a great combo of playful and couch potato!  Lola is a shy pup but having a confident doggy friend really brings her out of her shell. She is looking for a home with a fenced in yard for her and her future bff to romp around in. Lola was living in a Taco Bell parking lot before some good Samaritans befriended her, trapped her, and brought her to the safety of a foster home. Once she was able to relax, she quickly learned that couches are comfy, that leashes aren't the devil, made lots of doggy friends, and that being a house dog is pretty darn great. Now she is ready to take all that she's learned to her permanent home!  As part of Lola’s $300 adoption fee, she is spayed, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet little girl, you can email  Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Lola, you can fill in an online application for her under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org. ##2347484##

Story
(DOB 09/29/2024) Sydney the beautiful, joyful girl ready for her forever family! Sydney is a playful, social sweetheart who loves making the most of every day. She thrives in doggie daycare, enjoys playing with her canine friends, and is always up for a walk, a run, or a good romp with her toys. With her upbeat, energetic personality, she’s looking for a home that appreciates her active spirit. Sydney would shine in a family with another playful dog. She’s naturally gentle and non-dominant, happy to take on the role of the easygoing, submissive sister. She’s wonderfully social with both people and dogs and does great with kids, especially those who enjoy a happy, bouncy companion. So let's find her a home with a fun, 4-legged sibling (2-legged ones are great, too) and a fenced in yard for them to play together! What a beautiful sight that will be!! Her enthusiasm does sometimes lead to a bit of “escape artist” behavior—this girl loves an open door a little too much—so a family willing to keep gates and doors secure will help keep her safe. If you want a car companion, Sydney loves jumping in and going with you! She is also crate trained and working on leash manners. So make sure you have time daily for strolls and practice. At heart, Sydney is affectionate and loves being close to her people. She’s always ready for attention, petting sessions, and plenty of companionship. If you’re searching for a loving, energetic dog to add joy, play, and so much heart to your home, Sydney is your girl! As part of Sydney’s $300 adoption fee, she will be spayed, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet girl, you can email: Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org. Story
(DOB 05/24/2016) Don't you want to be Halo's angel? Halo, a dapper and mature gentleman is looking for his perfect human. My fostermom says I'm quite good on the leash & by quite she means; I do my best to not pull her and walk gently by her side. I love long, leisurely walks and sniffing around to see what';s new in the neighborhood. I am a master of both activity and relaxation. When I'm feeling frisky, a few backyard zoomies are always fun. Other times, you'll find me soaking up the sun on the deck, watching the world go by. After a good day, I love nothing more than cuddling up on the couch under my warm, super-soft blankie. It makes me feel so safe and loved. I've learned to be a good housemate, too. When my foster mom leaves, I go into my crate for a nap and just sleep until she comes back. I don't get & get "barky", but I will let you know if a stranger comes into the yard—it's the least I can do! This makes me a great candidate for an apartment or condo, as long as I get my regular potty breaks. I've met cats and they don't bother me. But, full disclosure, I do get a little excited about chasing squirrels, so my human would need to be mindful of that. I prefer to be the center of attention and would love to be your one and only fur-baby. I might be open to a chill,similarly-sized female dog after a proper introduction. (I do love my foster sister and will even curl up with her on the couch, but I’m choosy about my doggy friends.) I have not been around children so not sure how I’d react but foster mommy thinks that because Istartle with loud sounds and quick movements, it would be best if I didn’t have children around. I promise to give you my whole heart and be your most loyal and affectionate companion. If you're ready for heaven on earth, let's meet soon! As part of Halo’s $300 adoption fee, he will be neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives.
