Story
If sunshine were a dog, it would be Dixie. At almost 90 pounds of pure Labrador-ish magnificence, Dixie is a whole lot of girl — and she wears every ounce beautifully. Long legs, big smile, happy tail that doubles as a coffee-table clearer… she is a presence. And somehow — we truly cannot comprehend this — she is still here waiting.Dixie is four years old, which means you get the best of both worlds: past the chaotic puppy tornado phase, but still bursting with joyful, zoomy, “let’s do something fun right now” energy. She’s goofy in the most endearing way. Expect dramatic play bows, enthusiastic gallops, and the occasional moment where she forgets she is, in fact, almost 90 pounds. She’s wonderful with kids and dog-friendly too, making her the kind of big-hearted girl who just wants a pack to belong to. She’d love a yard to stretch those long legs or an active family who appreciates a daily adventure (or at least a solid game of fetch followed by a triumphant victory lap).Dixie doesn’t just enter a room — she arrives. With a grin. With a wiggle. With the kind of personality that makes ordinary Tuesdays feel like celebrations. We genuinely can’t believe she’s still here. But maybe she’s just been waiting for you — the lucky human who gets to say, “That big, beautiful goofball? She’s mine.” 💛More information? Meet Rosie 🌼Age: 4½ yearsBreed: Beagle mixVibe: Nervous sweetheart + certified little weirdoRosie spent 8 whole months living life on the streets, dodging responsibility and minding her own beagle business before the dog warden finally convinced her that couches and regular meals are, in fact, superior. Because of her rough start, Rosie can be shy and nervous with people at first—she’s the type who peeks around corners and says, “I’m not sure about you yet.”But other dogs? OBSESSED.Rosie believes dogs are perfect, magical creatures and would absolutely thrive with a confident canine friend to show her the ropes. She needs a secure fenced-in yard where she can safely zoom, sniff, and be her strange little self.Once Rosie decides you’re her person, things get… loud. She doesn’t bark. She doesn’t whine. She screams with joy. Full-volume, heartfelt, “I love you so much I must yell” screams. It’s endearing. It’s alarming. It’s Rosie. When she’s comfortable, she turns into a belly-rub connoisseur, melting into the floor and soaking up affection like she’s been waiting her whole life for it (because honestly, she kind of has).Rosie is not for everyone—but for the right patient, kind, dog-loving home, she’ll be a quirky, loyal, scream-happy treasure. If you believe the best dogs are a little odd, a little nervous, and a whole lot of special… Rosie might just be your soul dog 🐶💛More information? Story
Meet Raider! Raider came to us from a Humane case and was understandably a little unsure of the world at first. But give him some time (And maybe a few good butt scratches), and you'll see his true personality shine! Once he trusts you, he turns into a total sweetheart - complete with adorable tippy taps when he's excited to see his favorite people. He absolutely loves to get butt scratches and will even break out into a happy little dance when you hit the right spot. Raider has done well with other dogs here in the shelter, especially his brother Wolfie. When playtime rolls around, don't be surprised if he gets a bit vocal - he just has a lot to say about how much fun he's having! Raider has also shown himself to do well with cats - spending time in our lobby with our house cats without issue. While being here at the shelter Raider has learned to keep his kennel clean, having accidents at first but now keeping his kennel spotless most days. Raider is still shy when meeting new people and will need slow, gentle introductions to help him feel safe. We recommend he goes to a calm and quiet home to allow him to adjust slowly and comfortably. With patience, love and a little understanding, he will grow to become the loyal companion he's meant to be. If you are interested in fostering or adopting Raider, please feel free to fill out an application!

Story
Meet Sweet Tater! A one of a kind pup with a big personality and an even bigger heart (once you get to truly know each other)! Tater is an energetic, clever boy who we believe may be a Lab and Shiba mix- and honestly, it fits him perfectly. From his adorable curly tail that wags with enthusiasm to his intelligence, independence and touch of stubbornness, Sweet Tater keeps life interesting! He has a bright, life-filled smile that shows off his playful spirit and once he's comfortable with you his sweet side truly shines. Sweet Tater tends to bond closely with one person and may take some time to warm up to new people, so he'll do best in a quiet, adult-only home with an experienced owner. One that understands that trust is something earned and may take time, but when it happens it's incredibly rewarding for both of you! While Tater can be dog selective, usually doing best with calm, docile and submissive dogs who don't challenge him, we recommend he be the only pet in the home so he can fully relax and thrive. As for feline companions Sweet Tater has a high prey drive and would not do well in a home with a cat. Sweet Tater would love a home with a large yard to run in or a person who enjoys frequent walks and outdoor time. He has energy to burn and benefits greatly from both physical and mental enrichment. Speaking of enrichment - this boy is very smart! He loves puzzle toys like kongs and excels at scent based activities, especially when treats are hidden around the yard. Watching him carefully sniff out every last treat hidden in the yard is a true testament to his intelligence. When playtime rolls around, Sweet Tater enjoys toys and proudly shows off his talents for expertly dismantling them - durable toys are highly recommended! He's still in need of continued training and a patient, committed owner willing to work through his stubborn streak to uncover the loyal, affectionate companion underneath. If you are an experienced dog owner looking for a unique, intelligent and deeply rewarding bond, Sweet Tater may be the perfect match for you. Give him the time, structure and understanding he needs and he'll repay you with devotion, personality and plenty of tail wags!
