Midas is a 2 yr old Black Labrador/Hound mix.  He is around 90 lbs and will require a handler that has large breed experience.  He is good on leash BUT very strong.  Midas is currently enrolled in our prison training program and will remain at the prison until we find an approved adopter.  Midas can be dog selective although he does get along with most dogs.  He WILL need to meet all new housemates before adoption will considered and approved. His handler states: As long as his lab mind is in place he typically heals properly on lead and focuses on his handler....however if his hound mind takes over he is vocal, playful, not always good on lead and very exuberant. For years, she had litter after litter of puppies. When a neighbor reported that she, as a stray, was running around their neighborhood, Rico Pet Recovery stepped in to humanely trap her. She went to live with one of our wonderful fosters who found out that she was pregnant and helped her deliver her final litter of puppies. Fast forward to now and this sweet 4-5 year old black lab mix is still looking for a family. She wants to learn how to live a life with lots of toys and naps in the sunshine, or snuggled up next to you. She lived briefly with a foster who had a 2-year old and she was great with him. She's curious about cats, but will listen to the word 'no' when she's around them. This sweet girl wants to please, but will need patience as she learns how to fit into your family.Her life on the run still leaves her itching for adventure though. Mona Lisa MUST go to an adopter who has a fenced in yard and who will ensure that she wears a harness she can't slip out of on walks. She learned how to be quite the escape artist while she was a stray and we want to ensure that once this sweet girl joins your family, she is secure.Mona Lisa is about 50-60 pounds of wonderful softness.
