Story
Peanut PeteMaleAge: 2-3 yearsWeight: 52lbsBreed: Lab Mix Hi, I’m Peanut Pete! I am an observant and curious boy who is house trained and crate trained (I can be left for the duration of a normal work day). I haven’t been around cats and kids to know how I would be around them yet. I am dog friendly with slow and proper introductions and time to decompress. I am great on leash for walks with my foster mom, but since I am extra curious about other dogs I might lunge at them when on my walks, so we are working on this as well as my meeting and understanding what it means to be around dogs. I absolutely love my walks and runs and love to sniff all the things. I am an observant guy and love to check out everything around me. I like to play fetch as long as you have a second ball handy. I don’t always like to bring it back. I like to curl up and take naps with you and can entertain myself with my toys if you can’t give me attention sometimes. But, I do not like to be alone when you are around, so I will entertain myself in the same room. Hard toys are best for me. I swallowed a few soft toys once. My foster mom says I am the sweetest boy who just wants to be loved. I am a quick learner and just want to please my human. I also get super excited with positive reinforcement and listen very well when I know what you want from me. I am a strong boy with lots of energy, so an active family who help me get that young energy out would be best for me. If you are looking for a dog who is sweet and smart and an extra great cuddler, I am your guy and I cannot wait to find a family all my own who will provide me all the love I deserve! If you are interested in meeting Pete, apply to adopt him at: www.causeforcanines.org. Adoption fee: $350 Must be an Ohio resident and 23 or older. Children must be 5 years old or older.  ##1912007##

Story
Stella is located in TEXAS. There are not enough homes for all the unwanted dogs down there, so she is willing to relocate for a good, loving, forever home. A family observed Stella being pushed out of a vehicle and abandoned. They took her in and were planning on keeping her since she was such a great dog - being good with their dog, cats, and chickens. But their first dog did not like Stella so she had to go. Stella is microchipped and we discovered that she was adopted from a shelter in Greenville SC. The adopter moved to Texas and told us that they had "rehomed" her. Stella is a yellow lab/chow mix (she has the purple tongue of a chow) and she weighs 80+ pounds. The microchip data tells us that she is 6 years old. Stella is a very good dog. The people who found her say that Stella is fine with cats and chickens. She has no interest in them. Stella is house-trained and very well-behaved in the house. She will whine when she needs to go outside. Stella rides well in a vehicle, sits on command, and comes when called. She likes to go on walks (but pulls on the leash sometimes). So she could use some additional gentle obedience training. Stella has not shown any interest in toys or chew bones, but she loves treats. Stella loves to lay outside and likes searching for squirrels in the trees. She is also content to relax on her bed in the house and she loves pets, scratches, belly rubs, and human attention. At first, Stella will need a few days to learn to trust new people and unfamiliar situations but treats quickly make things better. We recommend that Stella only be around older children who know how to behave respectfully with dogs. Stella must be the alpha dog. She gets along with all of our smaller dogs. But will butt heads with any large dog that challenges her. She is not food aggressive but expects a dog that is eating to surrender the food bowl when she walks up. So we just feed her separately. Stella would be okay as an only dog. Stella must be in the house as a loved member of the family. She needs to be walked on a leash and needs a securely fenced yard to sun herself and go potty. Stella is healthy. She is spayed and tattooed, fully vaccinated (DAPPvL2, Bordatella, rabies), and microchipped. Stella is heartworm-negative and on monthly heartworm and flea prevention. Stella's adoption fee includes the cost of ground transport to Columbus or Cincinnati Ohio. Stella is being fostered in Texas and cannot be transported until after she is adopted. Story
Meet Rayo he’s 5months old full-blooded Labrador Retriver. He’s very energetic, loving, and loves to cuddle, he is 65lbs now but thinks he’s a small dog and will sit on you lap. He’s very gentle with kids, not so much with cats, he knows basic commands like sit, give paw, come, and down. He is semi potty train (still have accidents) We love Rayo with all our hearts but we think he needs a family that gives him the time he deserves, we all have busy schedules at home and he’s alone most of the time at home. We really want to find a loving family for him, somewhere that has the space for him to run free, a family that has the patience and time to properly train him, and to give him all the love and attention he deserves.

Lou is a big sweet lump. She was adopted from Franklin County Animal Shelter, she is roughly 10 years old. I am hoping for a good family home for her to have lots of activity and space, she can be anxious and lonely at times. She loves to play, she doesn't chew or jump barriers. Her favorite activity is cuddling with her people.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet TJ a Doberman/Lab mix (our best guess). This boy is such a lover and just loves to be with his person. He is a total lap dog and just loves to snuggle with his human. He has done well with older children but doesn't know how big he is sometimes and would probably knock over smaller children. TJ doesn’t care much for other dogs. He does NOT do well with cats.    His hobbies are chewing on his nylabones, playing fetch with his stuffed animals, going on walks, and of course cuddling!    He is well behaved on leash using a Halti and knows sit, down, come, and shake. He is also housebroken and crate trained!     Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.February 7, 2024, 8:25 pm

Story
Hi my name is Elsa. I think it is a lovely name but you can call me Biscuit, Buffy or anything you prefer, just don’t call me late for dinner. My foster mom says I am just beautiful. I hear everyone wants to be a blonde like me. Some people have to buy it in a bottle. I came by it naturally. I just love to be held. I can sit calmly for hours if you just want to hold, kiss, pet and stare adoringly into my eyes. Once I get tired of being loved on I like to wrestle around with my foster mate or one of my foster’s bigger dogs. I am not scared of much. I get along great with everyone and everything I meet. I hope I find a family who will like to include me in as much activities as possible and once bigger I am sure I am going to make a wonderful walk/hiking companion. Once I am adopted I will travel via private transport (transport cost is $160.00) to a location closest to you. If you would like to adopt me run, don’t walk, and fill out the application below. I’m sooooo cute I am sure I will go quickly. Can’t wait to meet you!!!! https://forms.gle/APKvbgFJcaRvgKgk9
