Story
We recently adopted Buddy just over 1.5yrs ago from the Clarington shelter. He was brought in as a stray so unfortunately we have no idea what he truly went through. Buddy is a very sweet, loving and caring dog. He is extremely affectionate, loves his treats and loves to cuddle. He is also a very anxious dog which unfortunately comes off as reactivity. In the time that weve had him, he did bite once. We briefly tried behavioural training but unfortunately we did not make much progress as we weret able to devote enough time for Buddy due to our work schedules. Although he is a much different dog now than he was 1.5 years ago, its unfortunately not something we can keep up with in our family. He really has made tremendous progress these last 18 months. Is gotten to the point where we feel like weve done all we can but he just needs more. He needs a good, healthy and calm environment. He needs someone who has more experience with dogs with behavioural issues and consistency.

Story
?BEAR / 10 yrs / Male / Yellow Labrador Retriever and Golden Retriever mix? / 60 lbs (27 kgs) / Currently fostered in Roseneath, ONMajor medical concerns: gastric ulcer - he thrives best in a calm, low-stress environmentMeet Bear, a wise and wonderful 10-year-old Yellow Labrador Retriever and Golden Retriever mix from Roseneath, ON, whose golden spirit is as warm and comforting as a sunny afternoon nap. Weighing in at about 60 pounds, Bear is the kind of dog who’s mastered the art of living gently—he’s quiet, clever, and always ready for a peaceful stroll or a cozy cuddle with his favorite toy.Bear’s gentle nature and calm demeanor are perfect companions for someone who appreciates life’s quieter moments. He’s house and crate trained, walks like a dream on leash, and responds beautifully to positive reinforcement. With excellent recall and zero interest in resource guarding, Bear is the kind of trustworthy buddy you’ll never have to second-guess.Bear does have a gastric ulcer, so he thrives best in a calm, low-stress environment. His ideal day? A relaxing walk in nature, a bit of playtime with his favorite toy, a tasty meal followed by classical or country tunes (his two favorite genres), and a long, satisfying nap in a comfy bed. He enjoys meeting other dogs on walks but would prefer to be the only dog in the home so he can fully enjoy his golden years in peace. While he’s friendly with people one-on-one, Bear is not one for crowds or hustle and bustle. He’s hoping to find a home with a dog-experienced, gentle-hearted person who can offer clear rules, consistency, and lots of outdoor adventures. A rural or suburban setting with green space and a fully fenced yard would be his paradise.Bear doesn’t need chaos—just someone who values calm companionship, loves outdoor time, and believes that joy can come from the simple things: a quiet walk, a kind word, and a soft place to rest.Could your peaceful home be the one where Bear can continue to shine?Neutered / Microchipped / Vaccinations up to date**PLEASE FILL OUT OUR ADOPTION APPLICATION TO BE CONSIDERED - https://caninehaven.org/dog-application/*

Story
Lena is a gentle, affectionate female Lab mix. She is 3 - 4 years old and weighs approximately 50 pounds. Lena gets along well with other dogs, especially males, and is indifferent to cats. She is incredibly friendly with people and walks beautifully on a leash. She was found alone in a neighborhood and was never claimed. But she has a tender heart and is a gentle soul. Lena is very loving with those who cared for her in the shelter and with her foster. Once she trusts you, she is a wonderful companion who enjoys cuddles and will follow you around curious to see what you are up to. She is health, spayed and up-to-date on vaccinations. Lena would thrive in a home with friendly dogs and humans who will shower her with love and attention. If you would like to learn more about Lena and our foster to adopt program, please email our rescue at c4ptoronto@gmail.com.

Story
Harley and Shelby are twin girls. They are good with people and are well behaved on leash and off. They are healthy, spayed and up to date on shots. They weigh 27 kg and are 3 years old. They like to go for walks and adventures, and ride well in the car. They are housetrained as well. ``They are good eaters and very happy and joyful. They like to run and wrestle and it's heartwarming to watch their happiness and joy. Although they are still a bit nervous of strangers, they are affectionate to those they know. Inside the home, they are quiet, tidy, not destructive and generally calm. Shelby (her face is darker) is more outgoing, athletic and energetic. She likes car rides more and wants to be outdoors all the time. Harley, on the other hand, is more shy, barks more, and would spend much of the time curled up on the sofa if she had her way. When at the dog park they prefer to either wander around or just play with each other. While the preference is that they be adopted together, it is not essential. However, there would need to be another dog in the home. If you would like to meet these beauties and learn about our foster to adopt program, please reach out to our rescue at c4ptoronto@gmail.com.
