Story
Meet Milky Way Milky Way is an estimated 1 1/2 years old (weighs 35 pounds) and came to us as a stray—found on the run, carrying quiet proof that her past wasn’t what it should have been. The small scars on her face tell a story she didn’t choose… but they don’t define who she is.What does define Milky Way?Gratitude. Gentleness. A heart that still believes in people.Since arriving at the shelter, she’s been nothing but sweet with everyone she’s met—soaking up kindness like it’s something brand new. She leans into affection, looks at you with those soft eyes, and reminds you how powerful love can be when it’s finally given freely.Milky Way deserves to know what safety feels like. She deserves consistency, warmth, and a family who shows her that love isn’t something you have to earn—it’s something you’re worthy of. If you’re ready to give a second chance to a dog who will treasure it with her whole heart, Milky Way is ready to meet you. Sometimes the most beautiful souls are the ones who’ve survived the dark—and still choose to shine.

Story
Meet Dante When Dante first came to us through the dog warden, he was in rough shape — his skin was severely irritated, and much of his fur was missing from his back. Despite how uncomfortable he must have been, Dante’s gentle spirit still shone through. With time, care, and lots of love, he’s made an incredible recovery — and now this sweet boy is ready to find a family of his own. Dante is estimated to be between 1–2 years old and has the perfect mix of youthful energy and loving affection. He’s ready for long walks, belly rubs, and the chance to finally experience what it means to be truly home. If you’d like to give Dante the fresh start he deserves, visit www.nokillarc.org to fill out a pre-approval form today!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Coaly, a 4-month-old Lab mix with a sleek, shiny black coat that makes her an absolute showstopper! This girl is full of puppy energy and spends her days zooming around and playing with the other dog in her foster home. Always ready for fun, Coaly takes her job of fetching (especially her beloved stuffies) very seriously. A true social butterfly, Coaly would thrive in a home with another friendly, playful dog—or with a family open to doggy daycare so she can keep her social calendar full. Kids: Coaly adores children! Because of her enthusiastic puppy antics, we recommend a home with older kids who can keep up with her joyful shenanigans. Cats: Coaly is neutral with cats and currently lives peacefully with dog-savvy felines in her foster home. Coaly is working hard on house training and sometimes ends the day with just one little “oops.” Leash training has been limited due to chilly central Pennsylvania weather, but with consistency and a solid routine, she’s expected to do great in her new home. This smart girl is highly motivated by treats, making training both fun and effective as she learns how to grow into a wonderful family companion. Coaly is up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and on monthly flea, tick, and heartworm preventatives. After a full day of play and puppy adventures, Coaly is more than happy to curl up with her people for some well-earned snuggles. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ Click here for the ADOPTION APPLICATION if you are interested in adopting this pet. Story
Rosey is a one year old 49 lb spayed female mix of likely Lab/Pit Bull. She came from SC kill shelter as a very young puppy in a litter. Our rescue was asked to save them, which we did. They were listed as a Catahoula mix. But when they got older they looked likely to be a Lab/Pit Bull mix. Two sisters were adopted together by an older couple. But after nearly a year they were returned to our rescue because they were not good with their other dogs as they got older. We made suggestions for training but they didn't want to because of the cost for a trainer. They were dominant occasionally with themselves. So we suggested them being adopted separately with only adults and teenagers. They are loving with people at our rescue. Especially Rosey was a hugger with a young woman here at our rescue. They are current on vaccines, microchipped and heartworm/Lyme and two other tick borne disease negative! We believe they should be adopted separately and with a person that knows how to train dogs and give commands! Their 3rd sister was also dominant but now well trained. They are house trained! They need the right owner or family! If you are interested in meeting or adopting Rosey please text Casey at 570-441-0083. We adopt to the general public but we also adopt to military veterans with adoption fee waived in order to provide our heroes with companion or emotional support dogs .
