Story
"Dogs bring love and joy to our lives." This reminds us of Drogo and Slay! Why we love them: These brothers are so friendly, smart and fun! Drogo and Slay are striking black Lab mixes with strong names, big hearts, and a touch of Game of Thrones flair. Named after fierce warriors from the series, these boys are every bit as strong, loyal, and full of noble character as their names suggest. They are 18 months old. Drogo weighs 73 pounds and Slay weighs 78 pounds. While Drogo and Slay get along great with each other, they don’t do well with other dogs. They've lived side-by-side for some time and enjoy each other’s company, but they don’t need to stay together. Each is more than ready to find his own loyal human and settle into a home where he can shine. Drogo is the strong, silent type. He’s got a regal presence and a deep, soulful gaze that says he’s seen it all — but he’s always happy to lean into a good ear scratch or bound after a ball. Slay is clever, curious, and full of personality. He lives up to his name with his confident energy, but he’s also incredibly sweet once he knows he can trust you. Both dogs are: • Smart, loyal, and friendly with people • Not compatible with other dogs or small animals • Best suited for adult-only homes or homes with older children • Looking for strong (they’re big boys!), experienced adopters who can give them structure, love, and plenty of time outdoors. If you’d like to adopt both of these magnificent boys, we will waive one adoption fee. If you’re looking for a devoted, one-and-only canine companion — Drogo or Slay could be your perfect match. Come meet them and see which one speaks to your heart. E-mail ccacangels@yahoo.com for more information! Please come visit! We are open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday from from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Story
"Dogs are the truest of friends." This makes us think of Slay. Why we love him: Slay is an active, friendly dog who will be a fun companion! He has a zest for life and we enjoy spending time with him. Slay is so handsome with his shiny black and white coat and happy brown eyes. Slay really looks forward to his daily walks and is ready to help you get your daily exercise. He is a very strong dog who will go for as long as you want and would be a good hiking or running buddy, too. Slay enjoys being in the fenced yard, where he bounds about happily and has a great time playing. He is a friendly, good natured dog who enjoys being petted while enjoying your company. Slay is a smart dog who should master any commands you want to teach him. Slay needs to be the only dog in his new home. He could also be adopted with his brother, Drogo, who is also at our shelter. E-mail ccacangels@yahoo.com for more information! Please come visit! We are open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday from from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Story
“Dogs are angels - they love unconditionally and are the truest of friends." This makes us think of our Jenga! Why we love her: Jenga is truly one of the sweetest dogs you will ever meet. Our staff and volunteers are totally devoted to her. She is a wonderful choice if you want to adopt a medium sized dog. Jenga is one year old and weighs 50 pounds. Jenga has one of those wonderfully expressive doggy faces that looks like she is smiling at you, and her cute grin is adorable! She is such a well mannered companion on daily walks and loves to be close to your side. Jenga also enjoys outings in the fenced yard, where she has such a good time playing. Jenga is one of our favorite cuddle buddies! She has a heart full of love she gladly shares. She is a bright, eager to please dog who should master any commands you wish to teach her. Jenga was a wonderful mother to her puppies, and now it's her turn for a family to love and care for her. Jenga is spending some time in a foster home and the family reports: "Jenga is housetrained. She is also crate trained and sleeps quietly in the crate all night. Jenga has a low energy level and a laid back personality. She loves to nap and snuggle." Jenga will be the BEST companion! The love, devotion and loyalty are guaranteed! E-mail ccacangels@yahoo.com for more information! Please come visit! Story
Gilda Radner observed: “I think dogs are the most amazing creatures. They give unconditional love. For me they are the role model for being alive.” This reminds us of Butter, who will be such a fun and devoted companion. He is an absolute delight to be around! Why we love him: He is such a sweetheart and is truly our golden boy! Butter's happy-go-lucky, effervescent personality has made him a shelter favorite. Each day is an adventure he is eager to share with you! He is such a joyful presence! His happy doggy face looks like he is smiling at you. Butter is one year old and weighs 28 pounds. Butter loves his outings in the fenced yard, where he bounds about in total joy and has so much fun! He really enjoys playing with the toys and we love seeing have so much fun. Once he is done, he will hang out with you to enjoy the day. Butter is so affectionate and good natured, loves to be petted and is a great snuggle buddy Butter is an enthusiastic companion on daily walks and has great potential to be a fine hiking or running buddy, too. Butter has really enjoyed play time with his fellow shelter companions. If you have another dog, we do require a meet and greet to ensure compatibility. Lucky Butter spent some time in a foster home and his foster Mom reports: "Butter was sweet and loving with all of us. He loved playing with our dog and we enjoyed watching them play together. Butter slept well in the kennel. He loved to explore the house. We all adored him." Another volunteer also hosted Butter and she says: "Butter has been such a great house guest. Respectful of our two dogs; very playful with our playful one and leaving the grumpy one alone. Butter had a blast with the squeaky toy and tennis balls my husband gave him. He did great in his crate overnight, and after we got up, we had couch cuddles and went back to sleep for awhile with him snuggled up next to me. Butter is very curious and has been checking out the house and finding interesting things, such as a pair of my sandals, but of course we were keeping an eye on him and he was happy to trade my sandal for his toy. I’d definitely crate train when not at home for awhile until he learns which things are his toys and which are not, but he’s been an absolutely lovely house guest." He recently attended an offsite event and was a wonderful representative of our shelter. Butter enjoyed the company of the dogs and people he met. Butter wants to please and should master any commands you wish to teach him. He already knows how to sit and is housebroken. This sweet dog is truly sunshine on a cloudy day - or any day! You could not ask for a more fun, loyal and loving dog. Butter will be the best family dog! Special thanks to Joel Alexander for his beautiful photos of our dogs.
