He is house trained, walks well on leash and learns quickly (especially when there are yummy treats around). He was lucky enough to find his way into care where it was discovered that he was born with an abnormal heart valve. Thanks to the awesome folks at Auburn University Vet School (War Eagle!) he is doing great, playing fetch and chasing his foster brother all around the yard. Hello! My name is Tansy! I am a fun-loving pup who LIVES for a good wrestle with other doggy pals, to be fully stretched out on the couch for a nap, and finding great sticks while on walks. I enjoy taking my time sniffing while out for a stroll and am continuing to learn good leash manners; I really like to wrestle, so sometimes I forget I’m on a walk and try to tussle with my foster sister. When I walk by myself, I do a really great job! I don’t really understand fetch, but I love to play tug. I mostly carry toys around in my mouth instead of chewing or destroying them. I have a lot of dog friends I get to see on a regular basis, and my foster mom even takes me out to the farm. You know what that means? That means I don’t try to run after the chickens or ducks when they are roaming around in the yard! I’ve had a lot of fun with my foster mom, and I’m ready to find my forever home. I would thrive in an adults-only home that either has another playful dog and/or are committed to make sure I stay well socialized with other pets.
