Story
owner surrender,This baby cried for months for his owner, it was the saddest dog ever....He orig lived indoors, reports say he kills birds. Wont share food sources. Nice dog, likes other little dogs but is food agressive when other animals are around. He came in very thin.....He is leash trained but should be only dog when food is out to be safe although he does best with the smaller dogs here and is only reactive with food available or if another dog comes to fence line. Most he is ok with, two of the other males here he is not friendly with thru the fencing.( He really is a sweet dog )who was loved very much by the young person who had him his first 4 years or so. then he was abducted for several months with someone who starved him and kept him on an apt balcony....We rescued him from the balcony. Please consider this boy! He is also crate trained now, prefers outside but will come in to play and be crated to eat.

Story
Hazel came to me as a foster but I fell in love. She is extremely sweet, goofy, and loving. But given her very abusive past, Hazel is very nervous around new people. Food is the key to her heart and quickly trust with lots of treats and affection. Hazel weighs about 40 lbs She's lived with random foster dogs and cats and always has done very well. She is extremely easy to redirect and has a strong desire to people-please. She's a gorgeous pup!

Story
Hickory is a sweet small statured 6-7 month old pup recently rescued along with his sister Myrtle in Nashville. Hickory is a cautious boy at first, but very quickly warms up and is so lovable. He loves to gaze lovingly at us while we pet his soft ears and head. He will also be easy to train as he is eager to please and sits for his meals and all the treats. Hickory has plenty of puppy energy but is a bit more laid back than Myrtle. He will often stay right next to foster mama when the other pups go to explore. At night, he goes straight into his crate and sleeps peacefully through the night. He is also potty trained. Hickory could be adopted along with his sister or thrive in a home with dedicated hooomans! Hickory has received his shots and will be neutered very soon. Please let us know if you’d like to meet this snuggle bug! Please email info@eastcan.org if you’re interested in meeting our sweet Hickory boy!

Story
Meet Myrtle! This precious boo boo was found recently in Nashville along with her brother Hickory. She has already received her vaccinations and will be spayed very soon. Myrtle is curious and playful and loves to give all the kisses! She is eager to please and eager to play! She gets along well with her foster siblings and has easily settled into couch snuggles and puppy play routines. Myrtle will be an easy dog to train! She already sits and waits patiently for her food and for any treat we give her. At night, she walks straight into her crate for bedtime and sleeps all through the night and is potty trained. Vet says she is between 6-7 months of age but we think she and her brother will be “low riders”… that’s our term for short leg/ mid sized pups once they’re full grown. Please email info@eastcan.org if you’d like to meet Myrtle! (we are willing to separate the pair for the right forever home!)

Story
Hey, Carlotta here! What can I say other than, I’m so excited to meet you, and any dog that I encounter. I live in a foster home with other dogs and I love to play with them as well as snuggle. I have mastered leash skills and love going for car rides. I have had the pleasure of meeting a handful of cool children and loved being in their presence. I also have met a few felines and was happy to co-exist with them. If you are looking for a sweet loyal dog to take on adventures and to snuggle with on cloudy days, I’m your girl!

Story
Hey there- I'm Piper! I can be best described as a dog who is always smiling. I LOVE everyone I meet and I'm a people pleaser. My foster parent's biggest complaint is that I think I'm a lap dog and I love being as close to my humans as possible when it's time to snuggle. My foster home consists of two other canine friends with very different personalities and playstyles. My foster parents boast that I'm great at getting along with each of them. I have also been around feline friends and passed the cat friend test with flying colors. At 4 years old I'm the perfect mix of fun and cuddling. My perfect day would start with a walk around the park or chilling at a dog-friendly brewery. It would end with a night of movies on the couch and you sharing your pizza crust. I cannot wait to find my forever family, and I hope that is you!
