Story
Say hello to Dakota! This beautiful girl loves running in our play yards, lounging in the dog pools, and belly rubs. She was adopted out but has come back to BAHS by no fault of her or the adopters. We have now learned the type of home that will be the best fit for Dakota. She needs to be in a very calm environment with only 1-2 people and no cats. Dakota also needs plenty of time to learn to trust, so she will need everyone in her future family to visit her for a few months before going home. Once this gorgeous girl gets to know you, she has plenty of love to give. Dakota is a Lab mix and was born on 11/7/2015. She is spayed, microchipped, current on all vaccinations, and takes preventive flea/tick/heartworm medicine. As with all of our dogs, Dakota must be an indoor dog. If you are interested in meeting Dakota, please email bahshelter@yahoo.com. If there are other dogs in your home, we require a meet and greet, which you can schedule via email at bahshelter@yahoo.com. If you cannot attend your scheduled visit, kindly text or call the volunteer you are meeting with before your scheduled visit. They are taking time out of their day to meet with you. Thank you!

Story
Tito is a 3-year-old, 37-pound pup who has endured more than most. Rescued from the streets and brought to the Weslaco shelter with a severely embedded collar that was put on as a puppy and never removed as he grew. Tito spent his life on the streets after fleeing his home, before finally finding safety. Now, he’s ready for the love and stability of a forever home. Though he needs a brief warm-up period to feel secure, Tito quickly shows his affectionate side. He loves other dogs and is especially nurturing toward puppies, making him a wonderful companion for a household with another dog. Until he feels fully safe, he’ll do best with a harness and leash to help him build trust. Tito is playful, gentle, and longing for a family to call his own. After surviving so much, he deserves a home where he can finally relax, be loved, and share his loyal heart. Tito is located in our shelter in Hondo, Texas. If you would like to add this cutie to your family, please review our process and complete an application here - https://www.tracyspawsrescue.org/adopt Learn more about our rescue here: https://www.facebook.com/TracysPawsRescue Services our dogs receive prior to adoption: Chagas Testing Heartworm and Tick Testing (age appropriate) All age-appropriate vaccines Heartworm and flea/tick preventatives Spay/neuter surgery Microchip *The breed(s) listed are guessed and based on the dog's physical appearance* He is heartworm and Chagas negative.

Story
Meet Mia — our quiet miracle who has waited three long years for her forever. Please watch her video... Mia came to us from a severe neglect and cruelty case, and she endured things no dog ever should. But somehow, despite everything humans took from her, she never lost her gentle spirit. Every time I look at her, all I feel is love...because Mia is love. Pure, grateful, resilient love. She’s about 4 years old now, weighs 53 pounds, heartworm negative and Chagas negative, and she has blossomed into the most wonderful dog. Mia is grateful for every act of kindness, every soft word, every moment she gets to simply be safe. She has been nothing but a good girl since the day she arrived. Mia gets along with other dogs and enjoys being part of the group, though she prefers friends who give her a little space and don’t rush into her face...she’s a laid-back girl at heart. But if she finds the right playmate, she absolutely can romp, run, and play with joy. She is also an excellent little watchdog here...alert, loyal, and always paying attention. But what Mia wants more than anything is something she’s never truly had: a kind person of her own to spend her life with. After three years of waiting, she deserves to finally go home. If you think that might be you, you can apply for Mia online. She’s been patient for so long… maybe today is the day someone finally sees her. Every dog adopted through Tracy’s Paws receives: • Chagas, heartworm, and tick testing (when age-appropriate) • All core vaccines (age-appropriate) • Heartworm and flea/tick preventatives • Regular Deworming • Spay/neuter surgery • Microchip

Prospective adopters must be able to travel to San Antonio to complete the adoption process.  Please apply online at http://texasgreatdane.org/adoption-application/ ** Meet Baxter, a handsome black Poodle/Lab (F1 NOT Hypoallergenic) cross puppy with a heart as big as his paws! Baxter was born on 10/11/2025 and currently weighs 18 pounds. His mom is a black Standard Poodle, and while dad is unknown, he was clearly a Labrador Retriever—giving Baxter that classic doodle look and loving personality. Baxter is very sweet, playful, and affectionate, and he truly thrives around people. He gets along great with everyone he meets and would make a wonderful addition to a family home. Baxter would love having kids to play with, a yard to explore, and plenty of time for cuddles after a fun day. He has the easygoing, social nature that makes him a great fit for both active households and calmer family settings. As a young puppy, Baxter is still working on house training and will need a family willing to provide patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement as he continues learning. With guidance and love, he’s sure to grow into a well-mannered and devoted companion. If you’re looking for a playful, loving puppy to grow up alongside your family, Baxter could be the perfect match! Please understand you are committing to providing a good home for his entire life (up to 15+ years or more) - not just until his puppy cuteness wears off. You must be committed to housebreaking, age-appropriate enrichment and exercise, leash training, grooming needs, and positive socialization. Like most puppies, he may chew on anything within his reach to include but not limited to baseboards, shoes, socks, children's toys, electrical cords, plants, etc. His adoption fee is $250. This includes his neuter surgery, rabies vaccination, Nobivac® Canine 1-DAPP vaccinations, Bravecto®, Drontal® Plus, Tri-Heart® Plus Chewable Tablet, 24PetWatch® microchip, and leash and collar. Please be aware that puppies and small breed dogs do get adopted quickly so interested parties are encouraged to apply online at www.saspca.org. Story
Hi there, I`m Sterling! I`m a very athletic dog with a stunning black coat that`s sure to catch your eye. But what really makes me stand out is my tongue – it`s a mile long! I love using it to give kisses and show my affection to my favorite humans. One of my favorite things in the world is playing with toys, and I`m always up for a game of fetch or tug-of-war. But my absolute favorite time of the day is when I get my kong at night – it`s the best treat ever!Once I warm up to people, I`m very sweet and friendly. I love nothing more than socializing with humans and showing off my playful side. I`m also the official babysitter of all the puppies at the shelter – I love showing them the ropes and making sure they`re having fun.But even though I enjoy taking care of others, I`m ready to find a home of my own where I can relax and have a little less responsibility. If you`re looking for a playful and social companion who will always keep you entertained, then I`m the dog for you!
