Story
BARKLEY is a real sweetheart. He is a delightful Texas Blend, maybe with a small Lab mix. His two siblings and himself came to us as puppies but they both are long adopted. Somehow, Barkley got overlooked and is now past the “cute and small puppy” stage. However, he still loves to play with other puppies and run around with toys in his mouth. His home is on the ranchette with several other dog friends; a home with a dog buddy would be best to show him doggie ways and to model joy/things to be excited about – like walks are fun and for sniffing and show him how to do things . He is super smart, listens well, and loves to cuddle on you. He is food and treat motivated, so will be easily trainable; he will need weighted bowl so that he can eat in a way that is he comfortable/familiar with. He likes having a crate/den area easily accessible so he could feel secure. He will need housetraining reinforcement. It is Barkley’s turn to get out of foster care. He really belongs in a loving home, with his forever family. Can you have it in your heart to give him one soon please? Barkley spent a month of training at Bobbi Colorado’s Canine Camp. Currently, he is undergoing a month-long refresher course. We all know that this kind of training does not come cheap. We invested in this training, as we do not wish for him to grow up in a "shelter" environment forever. If you are an active family who loves walks, runs, or just the outdoors, Barkley is the one for you all. Go to our website for more pictures of Barkley. We require a home in the Austin metro area with a privacy fenced yard, and children over 8. Barkley’s adoption fee of $250.00 covers his vet exam, age appropriate vaccinations, fecal test, dewormer, heart worm preventative, neuter procedure, and microchip.

Story
My dog Shado is 10 years old but has the energy of a puppy when she warms up to you. I need someone who’s willing to let her be an inside dog. I need someone to give her all the attention in the world because she simply just deserves it. She’s as loyal as it gets when she’s warmed up to you. She’s playful, lovessss water, she does chew up certain types of toys so I recommend something thats hard to chew up like rope. She needs daily walks but minimum 3 times a week because I understand people can be busy. I’m not sure how she’ll do with other dogs but when she was a puppy we had another dog in the house with us and they loved playing with each other and long walks. She is also quite vocal. She also comes with food, toys, and a dog bed.

Story
Meet, Belle! She is a big cuddle bug who loves walks and playing fetch. She is GREAT with kids, other dogs and cats. We have decided to rehome her as circumstances in our life changed and do not allow us to provide the level of attention we feel she deserves, like daily walks. She is house and kennel trained, though we haven't had her in a kennel for several months now. We have a dog bed, XL kennel and dog food that would go with her. We have had her since she was 8 weeks old and did obedience and gun dog training at 6 months old and a refresh course around a year old. To ensure she’s going to the home we feel is best for her there would be a brief ‘interview’ so we feel comfortable with the transition. She does not require any medication or special needs. Belle has never shown signs of any kind of aggression and at times can be overly excited to meet new people by sniffing and greeting with her paw. If properly trained she would even make a great service pet because she’s that sweet.

Story
Sodie is the sweetest dog ever. AMAZING with kids. I am working and my husband plus we have 3 young children and unfortunately do not have the time for her. I got her when I was a senior in high school and she is now 11! I love her and just want her to enjoy the last years of her life. She has allergies and had surgery on both ears but she still plays like a puppy and listens well.

Story
Max is the beloved companion of my parents and particularly, my mom, who has dementia. My parents have had many changes in their health over the past year, and their assisted living does not allow pets, We are hoping to find a forever home for max where he can continue to bring sunshine and joy to another family. Max is happy to cuddle on the couch or to follow us from room to room while we work or do household chores. He cannot ever get close enough, and loves pats and treats. He barks at intruders and will defend you from any animal that comes on the t.v. Max follows basic commands and walks on a lead well. He would love to live with another doggie friend. We don’t know if he would do well with a cat, but suspect he would since he has no interest in our indoor guinea pigs. He does catch squirrels and rats, and will kill chickens if they are not enclosed in a run. (We suspect that max is part bird dog since he brought the chickens he killed to us.) Mac is kennel-trained.

Austin, TX
Size
(when grown) Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
Details
Not good with kids, Good with dogs, Not good with cats, House-trained, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
Pringle is a gentle, wanna-be lap dog. When he’s in a silly mood, he gets the most adorable zoomies with his long legs flying everywhere! He enjoys playing with his brother and loves toys. He does great with dogs of all sizes. If he is not seeking out pets and attention, he is probably walking around proudly showing off his toy. He has gorgeous eyes that stare into your soul. Born January 21, he is still a younger pup so adopters should be prepared to help with basic puppy trainings. But Pringle is very smart and he’s doing great with potty training and crate training - no accidents overnight. Pringle is currently fostered in Austin, TX. He is available for out of state adoption and transportation is available for approved adopters. If you are interested in meeting or adopting Pringle, please fill out the adoption application located on our website: www.savingsouthtexas.com/adoptables
