Story
If you are looking for a playful older dog, Max is your boy. Max is a nine year old Labrador mix looking for a home for napping, spending some time outside, or just playing with his tennis balls. Max has shown his appreciation for water even in just a doggy pool but also enjoys water in nature. Max's human cannot run out of tennis balls! He prefers to have two in his mouth with one between the paws. That is his doggy heaven. He will also play tug of war and keep away. He is a good fetcher. Sometimes he is ready for another throw and other times Max will drop it for you. Max is looking for a home where he can get some activity but a nice place to enjoy the indoor weather, too. As a black dog, Max would appreciate a back yard pool. Apartment living would also be a good choice since Mac does sleep the day away while his humans away. Max’s foster works from home and reports Max is an easy going dog who does not interrupt her day but also knows when it is time for a break and when the clock says 5:00pm.

Story
Leonard... we love his sweet and slightly salty labby spirit and you will too! He has an endearing personality, he`s older, he just `gets` things, he has a great grasp of the verbals and he`s really in tune with his people. Of course he knows everything you expect, he`s housetrained like a tank, has nice manners and is often a loose leash walker. He lost his home and his very important man who had to give him up to a life`s hardship. He then was displaced back into the same shelter he started at a few years ago. 13 years looks good on him though, and he`s not letting it hold him down but it`s not a great age to be in a shelter...Leonard loves life on both the easy and wild side - these days `wild` means chasing a tennis ball for 5 or 10 minutes or swimming a little or barking for treats (yes please & many!) and `easy` means lounging on a luxury liner bed with a smile. Leonard doesn`t like to dine alone in a noisy kennel. He waits until walk time and corrals us in his kennel to be present while he devours his dinner and makes us wait. He has us wrapped around his little paws! Leonard also has a large mass that needs to be removed from his rump and the longer he`s here the larger the risk it may erupt. We`re going to get that fixed through medical sponsorship by ClassicCaninesATX but he needs to recover in a home, not a shelter kennel. Can you help Leonard by giving him a pet free home so we can get this work completed? Leonard is on the URGENTS LIST and supported by so many fans and especially by his friends at Orange Dot Crew and Classic Canines.

Story
June was surrendered to AAC because her mom needed to get out of scary situation and couldn’t take her with her. She was not adjusting well to shelter life. She was very anxious and unable to settle. After arriving in her foster home, she started to relax and show her true personality.June is a lovable, goofy lab mix, with one ear that stands up and another ear that flops to the side. She is a total sweetheart and just wants to be near her people. She follows her foster parents around the house. She especially loves cuddling on the couch, having her ears and tummy scratched and running and playing fetch in the backyard. Her favorite toy is her treat dispenser ball. She already knows the rules of the house. She communicates when she needs to go outside to go potty. She is not destructive in the house, even when left alone. She doesn’t even seem interested in chewing shoes! She has very good tables manners too! She is great about not begging for food, in fact, she will sit quietly under the dinner table when her foster parents are eating. While in foster care, her foster parents haven’t seen her interact with children, cats, or other dogs. But her previous owner stated that she had lived with an elderly chihuahua in the past. She loves visitors who come to the house. After a couple of minutes of excitement she will settle down and give lots of attention and licks to new friends.June cannot wait to find her forever home! She is a sweet girl who has been through a lot and just wants to give all her love and affection to her family.

Pecho Blanco, `White Chest`, is a charmer with his frosted face. He came in with 2 other large male dogs, one his same age named Marenzo who recently passed away, and another quite a bit younger who has since been adopted. Pecho Blanco has been quite a hit with the volunteers, staff and their fosters. He is just so enthusiastic to greet people! He is doing quite well living amongst equally spunky small foster dog siblings. Pecho Blancho`s wellness care is being handled by his volunteer friends at ClassicCaninesATX through a local vet partner so full records of recent history are available to his adopter. Pecho Blancho is full of charisma and goofy sweet smiles and as you can see, he is so photogenic! Select the ADOPT ME button to start the process of discussing specifics with his foster.

Story
Goldie appreciates balance in life-it`s equal parts fun, easy wandering around her homestead and naps! She loves neighborly walks too. She likes to fit in where the people are, or hang out with another friendly dog resident. Sometimes she may prefer to be alone. Much like us as we age, she`s come to know exactly what she likes, choices! Her true love is having free range between indoors and outdoors and will need at least a small fenced yard to truly feel whole because she loves nature. Now and then her youthful spirit comes out and she does zoomies around her person or a dog resident to encourage play action. But when it`s her turn for the cuddles, it`s `me time`! She`s very housetrained and sleeps through the night. Goldie has been in a home with older kids and does well. She has shared a home with an older dog friend. She shares her current home with a Himalayan cat. When her people are away, Goldie can manage herself by being separated to her own space or even crated if need be. Goldie appreciates a home without flights of stairs, a few seconds patience for her to rise but know she will bust a move when she gets going. Can you appreciate the balance this sweet girl desires for her golden years? Meeting Goldie is easy, she`s in foster. Reach out on her ADOPT ME button. Her wellness care while in foster is sponsored by Classic Canines at a Pflugerville clinic and a big bonus - she`s recently had a full dental!

Story
This is Gunner, my neighbor’s dog, who are unable to care for him anymore. He’s around 8-10 years old and very, very sweet with adult humans. He was a street dog before he was found by the neighbor about 2 years ago. For an older dog, he has great energy and would do well if someone had a yard where he could run around. Ideally, he needs someone who can provide training and love to him. He doesn’t know how to be a family dog because he never got the chance. He’s submissive to me and also very loving towards me. He walks well with a leash after building trust. Doesn’t play with toys - I don’t think he knows how to. Please, is there an Angel out there who can take him in? Your rehoming fee will be transferred to the vet of your choice after the transaction is complete. I’m willing to help with meet and greets as well.

Story
Paris is a sweet, playful dog. He is very energetic and loves nothing more than a good game of fetch. He is quite smart, which I believe will translate well to "teachable" in the right hands. He is already neutered and house/crate trained and knows a couple basic commands. He is in good health and up to date on all shots/medications. He has been good with kiddos and other dogs. We have had Paris since he was less than a year old, and he has been with us for about a year and a half. We have really struggled with the decision to let him go, but unfortunately, we just don't have the time to give him the attention and stimulation he deserves. We feel like there is a better match for him out there, and we are confident that he is going to make a great dog for the right family! If approved, we are willing to pass along all of his belongings (leash, harness, crate, bed, bowls, and most importantly his favorite fetch ball ❤️). Please reach out if you have questions.

Story
I'm Duke! I am a highly energetic big boy. I love my humans and my dog sisters. Since I am so energetic, I have been to lots of training classes. I am really good at sit, stay, down, lay down, go to the side, come. I can do these on hand signals too. I also touch hands to greet, but sometimes I forget. I am getting better at heel, going to my place and waiting. I LOVE walks, but get really excited when I see another dog or a bunny. I do "leave it" so well, I often demonstrated in class. Once you tell me to leave it, it's lava! I just started learning patacake! I just love me some cuddles and snuggles. I am unsure about other dogs right now, because I got bitten in the face by a small dog. I am a little nervous now, but if you are confident and help me....I can do it! Story
I’ve had Miller since he was 6 weeks old he is 4 now as of Jan 28th which is his birthday. He has been trained in bird hunting upland/waterfowl, he may be a little rusty but quick to pick it up again he is not shock collar shy. He’s a very loving soft natured dog and has never showed any sort of aggression towards anyone or other animals. He loves all kinds of attention and is a big couch potato when it comes to movies and cuddle time, all he wants is to be there next to you and in the picture. He’s been kennel trained as well as obedience trained, you can leave him out and he’ll do nothing but walk around and wonder when youll be back. Great dog around kids, I have 2 nephews less than 4 years old and they love being around him. I’m wanting him to go to a loving household where he can play, be active, and be apart of the family and not neglected.

Lolo is a sweet, loving girl. She came to us during the long days of the pandemic and has been a wonderful pet. She is house trained, crate trained, and knows quite a few commands. She needs a family that can give her the time she deserves for exercise and play. Lolo (aka Lolli) loves snuggles, stuffed toys, squeaky toys, an occasional chew bone, and being outside with her people. Our family wants what is best for her, and right now that is a home that can give her more time. Please consider bringing this precious girl into your family.

Story
Floyd came from a terrible place. He was abandoned in a horrible feces-filled filthy house and waiting to be used as a bait dog in a highly crime-ridden area. The neighbors could hear Dino and Floyd both screaming in the night. Floyd is totally coming around and so happy to be in a safe place. He is in sanctuary and will be considered for adoption by a caring individual who is familiar with special needs animals who've survived abusive situations. Floyd is a very dignified elder gentleman. He is a deep deep auburn color we think part Chesapeake Bay Retriever mixed with Irish Setter and a little Queensland cattle dog which explains Floyd's apartment-sized weight and measurements. He's already crate-trained and settling in...very gentle and people friendly. Please give us a call if you are interested in meeting Floyd. If you would like to contribute to his well-being, check out the gofundme at https://www.gofundme.com/f/two-abandoned-seniors-in-south-texasApril 21, 2024, 12:24 pm

Story
Baylor loves to run, and play but he also loves to cuddle and snuggle. So, he is the perfect guy if you need a fun, loving companion. He’s very loyal and will want to spend time with his family and ideally another doggie friend because he loves company! He prefers smaller doggie friends and is not a cat lover. He does need a secure yard with high fences, but his long legs make Baylor a very good looking boy. Everyone comments on how handsome he is – he’s a real head turner. He was found wandering the streets and has enjoyed his foster home but is ready for a forever home that will give him time to adjust and the attention he craves. He promises to return the love!April 24, 2024, 2:28 pm
