Scooby is about as easy as dogs come. He's smart, gentle, and has beautiful manners — he adores other dogs and people equally and greets everyone like they're his favorite person. He walks nicely on leash, settles happily loose in the house while his foster is at work, and lights up the moment he sees the car keys because he knows an adventure is coming. A backyard sniff around or a good toy session is plenty to tire him out, and he's just as content curled up on a patio as he is out exploring. A little extra help Scooby had an injury before coming into rescue. The fracture healed completely, but the nerves involved in bladder and bowel control didn't come back all the way — so he needs a bit of hands-on help with both. It sounds like more than it is in practice: Bladder care Expressed 3–4 times a day with a gentle massage near his hind legs. Quick and easy once you get the hang of it. Potty schedule: A special diet keeps him regular, and he poops like clockwork twice a day. He gives clear signals, so it's easy to know when to take him out. Scooby has full sensation and knows exactly when he's going — he just can't hold it voluntarily. He's aware and cooperative through the whole routine.

Hello, This is Jasper Epic, he is a lab-pit mix and he is genuinely the sweetest peach. I adopted Jasper from a friend a few years ago because she was experiencing a bit of postpartum depression and could not take care of him. We have lived near Austin, Waco and Houston. Oddly enough, I had become allergic to him within the last year, so my grandparents (who live closer to downtown Houston) adopted him from me and have kept him to help keep robbers away. He is not an aggressive dog, but because he looks like a pit it kept them safe. Now, they are physically unable to keep him as both my grandmother and grandfather have a hard time moving around their property without being in pain. Jasper is an amazing dog, he is almost 5 years old and he has experience around very young children, cats (although the cat was not friendly with him), and dogs (he works best with friendly ones.) He also loves learning new tricks, trying new treats, and being emotionally present (he was my ESA before)

Kanga is looking for a squirrel-hunting fur-ever partner! Kanga is a gentle giant who wants nothing more than to cuddle up and go on long walks looking for squirrels. His favorite pastime is rolling in the grass and trying to befriend every passerby, furry or not. When no one is around, Kanga enjoys hanging out with his cat BFF or chills out in his crate with his favorite blankets and toys. Kanga first came to APA in 2021 to receive care after having been shot in the spine. He needed to have one of his hind legs amputated, but he quickly adapted to life on 3 legs. The injuries to his spine left him incontinent, but all that means is he requires a few extra potty breaks a day, and he wears fashionable diapers when he's inside the house. He isn't aware of his differences, and they certainly don't get him down! He can climb stairs, jump out of the car, and will snuggle on the couch with you when you're feeling down.
