Story
BARKLEY is a real sweetheart. He is a delightful Texas Blend, maybe with a small Lab mix. His two siblings and himself came to us as puppies but they both are long adopted. Somehow, Barkley got overlooked and is now past the “cute and small puppy” stage. However, he still loves to play with other puppies and run around with toys in his mouth. His home is on the ranchette with several other dog friends; a home with a dog buddy would be best to show him doggie ways and to model joy/things to be excited about – like walks are fun and for sniffing and show him how to do things . He is super smart, listens well, and loves to cuddle on you. He is food and treat motivated, so will be easily trainable; he will need weighted bowl so that he can eat in a way that is he comfortable/familiar with. He likes having a crate/den area easily accessible so he could feel secure. He will need housetraining reinforcement. It is Barkley’s turn to get out of foster care. He really belongs in a loving home, with his forever family. Can you have it in your heart to give him one soon please? Barkley spent a month of training at Bobbi Colorado’s Canine Camp. Currently, he is undergoing a month-long refresher course. We all know that this kind of training does not come cheap. We invested in this training, as we do not wish for him to grow up in a "shelter" environment forever. If you are an active family who loves walks, runs, or just the outdoors, Barkley is the one for you all. Go to our website for more pictures of Barkley. We require a home in the Austin metro area with a privacy fenced yard, and children over 8. Barkley’s adoption fee of $250.00 covers his vet exam, age appropriate vaccinations, fecal test, dewormer, heart worm preventative, neuter procedure, and microchip.

Story
Hi, I am Luke! I am in foster in Wimberley. I’m smart, alert, and always smiling! I’m quick to learn and love having a job to do, whether that’s waiting patiently for dinner or keeping an eye on the yard. I’m affectionate, love attention, and am happiest when I get to hang out with my humans. I’m about 8 months old and fully vaccinated/neutered and about 50 lbs. I use the doggy door like a champ and I get along great with other dogs. If you’re looking for a happy, confident pup who’s ready to learn, love, and grow with you — I’m your guy! We are looking for a foster, foster to adopt for Luke. Are you his person? He is currently in foster near Austin and would love to meet his furever very soon! Please contact us ASAP to meet this boy. fureverfriendsandrescue@gmail.com

Story
•Potty-trained •Crate-trained •Good with dogs •Medium energy Logan is the sweetest and most loyal boy looking for a family to love him forever. He has an adorable silly side. He is about 4 years old and 45 lbs. Logan loves other dogs! He especially enjoys to play with dogs that are similar size to him (medium & large) but he does great with smaller dogs too. Dogs help Logan feel safer and more confident in a home setting, so he is hoping for a home that has another dog to be his buddy and companion. Because of Logan's past life before rescue, he can be a bit shy when first meeting new humans. But he adjusts quickly with a little love and patience (and treats!) He does great on car rides and enjoys going to work with his foster mom (he's a very hard worker) His favorite activity is fetch and he will gently return his squeaky toy for you to throw. He could play fetch literally all day long. He also LOVES water and enjoys swimming in his foster's pool. He confidently jumps in the pool to fetch his toys. Logan shows his gratitude and will quite literally love you forever if you give him a chance. If you are interested in learning more or meeting Logan, please fill out the adoption application listed on our website: www.savingsouthtexas.com/adoptables

Story
Whiskey is a sweet, seven year old energetic Lab mix who came to me after a family member passed away. She is crate trained, house trained, and does well with routine and clear expectations. She has lived with other dogs before and currently gets along with our calm male dog, so she could do well with another steady, low-conflict dog. She cannot live with cats—she fixates on them and does not give them space, which is stressful for everyone. Whiskey is friendly with people and older kids, but she is best suited for a home without young children since she doesn’t always like sudden grabbing or rough handling. She bonds closely with her person and thrives in a calm home with structure, daily walks, and predictable routines. She has a sensitive personality and will do best with someone who has experience and can offer gentle boundaries. I will provide her crate, leash, food, and vet information to help her settle into her new home.

Story
Up for adoption in Texas: Young Sheldon. Sheldon is a gorgeous, stunning, three-(or so)-year-old boy who weighs about 55lbs, and could use a few more. When we saved him, all the ladies who volunteered to help drive him to his foster home gushed at what a looker he is! This handsome boy loves playing with the other dogs in his foster home, including wrestling and chewing on chew toys. He has a medium energy level. Sheldon will roll on his back and offer you his belly anytime you're willing to rub it! He's so sweet. The shelter we saved Sheldon from gave him his name, although he doesn't seem to love it; he will "come to you" if you make a kissing sound. :) He walks well on a leash and has done well at the veterinarian's office; however, Sheldon appears to have some car sickness, so he hasn't traveled too far. He's currently in the Austin area — so if you're local, it might help him on his journey to his forever home. Sheldon is crate-trained and housebroken, vaccinated, microchipped, and neutered.
