This amazing puppy that has the beautiful golden smile and coat of a golden color as well, is called Gabriel.  Living his first 4 months of life in a 10X 10 outdoor kennel with his other 6 siblings, this boy never has had a chance to run and play and be loved on until August 15th.  The day his life changed and that of his 6 siblings, will be a special one for Critter Cavalry Rescue.   Their hard and cruel past is behind them and now a bright and shiny future is promised them as CCR starts posting all the wonderful girls and boys that are from that litter.  They are loving, some shyer than others, but all are hungry to be cuddled, played with and offered the chance to love their humans deeply and forever.   Having a yard to run and play in has been a first ever since 8/15.  Can you imagine the freedom and exhilaration that our boy Gabriel has been feeling?  He has a little foster girl to kiss and play with and other dogs and even some chickens in the backyard.  He has been neutered and shots started and dewormings under way.  The road ahead will be a breeze compared to his first 4 months.  Currently he weighs 25 pounds and is destined to be a 55 pound adult lovebug.  If you love his smile then you will love his heart even more.  Friendly and learning all the new things about this wonderful world of good food, a dog bed, chew toys and above all, humans who care about him.  What more could make a puppy happier?  Well all that is left to top these great changes is to have a family adopt him!!!!   Could that be you!?  Please email us at ccrnewengland@gmail.com  We adopt locally in Nashville, TN area where he is fostered and we also offer transportation to the northeast to families and homes that want to give our dogs and cats a better life.  Just let us know where you live!  We can get our boy there and close!   Puppy Frannie — An Ebony Beauty with a Heart of Gold Some puppies simply have that special combination of beauty, sweetness and an easygoing personality that makes you think, “Oh, she is going to be an amazing dog.” Frannie is one of those puppies.   Born May 22nd to a beautiful Redbone Hound mama, Frannie is one of 12 puppies in a litter that appears to have some Labrador mixed into the family tree. Half of her littermates are black, and Frannie is growing into an absolutely gorgeous ebony-colored girl with a sleek, shiny coat that is as soft as velvet. She has been wonderfully low-shedding so far, too!   But her beauty is only the beginning.  Frannie is a sweet, gentle, curious and playful puppy who loves being around other dogs and puppies. She has a lovely, submissive play style and seems to understand how to interact appropriately with her canine friends. She would be a wonderful addition to a family looking for a dog who can grow up alongside another playful pup.   She is also a smart little girl who catches on quickly. Frannie is doing very well with pee-pad training and is learning that outdoor potty breaks are part of the routine. She is crate trained and sleeps quietly through the entire night, which is pretty impressive for such a young puppy!   One of the things we love about Frannie is that she isn't the puppy who blindly charges into every situation. Sometimes she hangs back for just a moment, takes a look around and makes sure everything is safe before she goes bounding off to explore.   Some Dogs Ask for Your Attention. Shaya Is Quietly Hoping for Your Heart.   Every rescue group has that one dog. The one everyone agrees is wonderful, but somehow keeps getting passed over because she isn't the first to greet strangers or demand attention. The one whose eyes tell a story that words never could. The one who simply needs someone willing to see beyond the first five minutes. For us, that dog is Shaya.   Almost two years ago, Shaya was just a puppy herself there in rural Mississippi.  At a very young age of about 9 months, she gave birth to a litter of puppies out in the woods of Mississippi and a rescue lady found them.  The puppies were accepted at the shelter but the momma dog was rejected.  They said to put her down.  The lady who rescued the family contacted Critter Cavalry Rescue and begged us to take her and her sister who also had puppies born at such a young age.  We did.  Shaya was the most shutdown and scared at the time.  Thankfully, our rescue had a different plan.   Since that day, Shaya has spent the past year learning something many dogs take for granted—that people can be gentle, hands can offer comfort instead of fear, and home can actually be a safe place.  Has she blossomed? Absolutely. Is she still a little shy? Yes.And honestly...after the life she's lived, who wouldn't be?   When Shaya meets someone new, she takes a moment to watch. She's simply trying to answer one question: 'Are you going to be kind to me?'   Once she realizes the answer is yes, something beautiful begins to happen. Her soft eyes brighten. Her tail starts to wag. She leans in for affection and quietly asks for the snuggles she's come to love. There isn't a demanding bone in her body. She simply wants to belong.   Shaya is happiest when life is peaceful. She loves long walks, where her confidence grows with every step beside someone she trusts. She adores other dogs and truly flourishes around them, which is why we know another friendly, confident dog in her forever home would help her continue to blossom. She is wonderful with cats, has never shown any aggression, and happily relaxes in her crate, which has always been her little place of comfort. She uses a doggie door, is about 95% house-trained, and even understands that pee pads are there if her family has to be away for longer periods.   She isn't difficult.  She isn't broken. She's simply a dog whose heart learned to be careful.  There is a special kind of person who reads biographies like this one. The person who doesn't ask, 'What can this dog do for me?' but instead wonders, 'What happened to her?' The person who understands that love isn't always loud. Sometimes it's quiet. Sometimes it's earned. Sometimes it arrives wrapped in patience, tiny victories, and the trust of a dog who finally believes she's safe.   Those are the people we're hoping will find Shaya.   She may never be the dog who rushes to greet every stranger, but she will become the dog who watches you with complete devotion, follows you from room to room, curls up beside you after a long day, and reminds you that the greatest relationships in life are often the ones worth waiting for.   Shaya is only about 40 pounds, but the heart she's looking for needs to be much bigger than that. Chloe is 4 years old. She is the sweetest, most loving dog I’ve ever had. She’s always happy and absolutely loves people, sometimes a bit too much. She loves playing with other animals and enjoys playing in the water. She definitely deserves a yard or someone who can match her same golden energy. I would love to keep her, but I think she deserves a lot more than what I can give her at the moment. She is such a sweetheart and to be honest - giving her up breaks my heart.   Momma Honey - This Golden Retriever mix girl is about 2 years old and 50 pounds and has the most amazing foster mom and this is what she says about Honey.    'What  can I say, she is the most incredible dog I’ve ever met. This young, beautiful, golden mix momma dog was walking by my house one night in early July. It was raining, dark, and she was thin, tired, starving, and thirsty. This momma had the drive and will to survive for her puppies. All eight of them. All I knew was that she was nursing and there were puppies somewhere near. She stopped by home long enough for me to feed her and the she was on her way. After her third visit, she trusted me. We walked down a two lane country road about a half a mile until she pulled me in the direction of what might be her home. A home that was no home to her. A home that didn’t love her, didn’t want her, didn’t feed her, and didn’t know she had 8 beautiful puppies behind a trailer on the back field. I took her and all her babies the next day, loaded them up in my CRV, and they came home. To a real home, a home with love, and silly songs about dogs and cats and kitties and baths. Honey had to share the spotlight, which she didn’t mind. My love was shared amongst her, her 8 pups, my three labs, and my indoor kitty, all rescues. She immediately took to my girls. She wanted a friend, she got three. Honey is a brave soul for standing nose to nose with my one year old black and white kitten, Biggie. She’s small, fierce, and runs this household, but Honey wanted to spend time with her too. I’ve not met a dog, a mother, a warrior like her. She protects her babies, protects me, and is currently my best lookout dog.  With her shiny golden coat that flips out at the bottoms, shiny white teeth, and DROP DEAD stunning golden eyes, she stole my heart, but her personality touched my soul. It’s been a privilege to love on this medium size, 50 lb dog, that holds my hand with her paw and sits on the front porch with me in the mornings. Honey is great with new people. A sweet neighbor comes over each morning with chicken baked just for her. We call him the chicken man and he is always welcome, just like she will welcome the family that gets to take her home. Honey is loyal, loving, and a traveler. This girl is ready to settle in for the long haul.
