Loki 7 yrs old almost 8, male, neutered (birth: July 15,2018) had him since he was a few months old from shelter in Texas. Black lab mix think weenie. Rabies expires 11/11/2027 and just received his annuals on 2/15/2026 and clean bill of health with seasonal allergies gets eye boogers they just have to be wiped with a wipey. Friendly good with kids honestly he ignores them. But loves snuggles. Does well with other animals but He is mainly an indoor dog and doesn’t socialize with other animals often. Jumps when excited, kennel trained, wont bolt off if he wonders a little call his name he comes back and he loves to sunbathe. Kennel, food, leash, outdoor dog house, dog bed all goes with him. Hurts to say goodbye but moving coast to coast and found out we can’t take him. Want to be able to find a great new loving home that can provide the attention and affection he needs.

And then there was one. Just Leia.Leia came to us from a home, along with Luke and Tanner. They were ravaged by fleas in a way we had not seen before. All of them had flea anemia and Luke almost needed a transfusion. They each had their own health issues as well.Tragically, we had to say goodbye to Luke because of a mass on his heart. Then Leia and Tanner were welcomed into a wonderful home, but Leia, who was now feeling a bit better, had trouble getting along with Tanner. When none of them felt well, they just coexisted and tried to survive. But now that they feel a bit better, more emotions are coming out.So Leia is back with us - 111 days since she first came to us. She has a few health issues - a heart rate that jumps up and down and an issue with her back. She is on meds for her back and is feeling better, which we are thankful for.But her fluctuating heart rate causes her to sleep, a lot. Sleep can be hard to come by at the shelter but she finds it.When she is up and about, she is delightful. Some days you can hardly believe she is 10 years old. She adores people and is so content when someone just sits next to her as she sleeps. We are seeing that she may definitely prefer to be the only dog in the house.We are looking for a permanent medical foster for Leia. All medical expenses would be covered for this amazing girl. We just want a very soft spot for her to land so she can have some amazing months or years - she so deserves that.If you have room in your heart for the sweetest girl, with the biggest heart, who has had some rough years in her life, come meet our special Leia! Meet Buddy - our 3yr old black lab who’s finally ready for adoption! Found as a stray in Portsmouth with virtually no hair and a severe skin infection, Buddy is proof just how resilient dogs are. Buddy is a big, lovable, and loyal boy who has been thriving in his foster home for a little over a month now. He’s estimated to be around 3 years old, though he may be a bit younger based on his playful, puppy-like energy. He currently weighs 68 pounds and may still have a little filling out left to do. Buddy is incredibly affectionate and loves being close to his people. He follows his foster mom around the house all day and happily curls up on the couch when it’s time to relax. He’s protective and will bark at strangers at first, but warms up once he realizes they’re friendly. He loves giving kisses and is still learning that jumping up when excited isn’t polite. He lives with four other dogs ranging from 1.5 to 7 years old and gets along wonderfully with all of them. His favorite playmate is the youngest female, and they love to play chase and roughhouse, but he’s respectful of the dogs who prefer calmer interactions. He also does well with the 5-year-old and 7-month-old children, though because he’s a big boy, supervision is important. Buddy loves to gallop around the yard and play. He’s very food motivated and is currently working on sit, leave it, and kennel, and he’s doing great. He is mostly house-trained and has started pawing at the back door to let his humans know when he needs to go out. He is kenneled at night and when they leave the house along with the other dogs and does great with a soft toy or a peanut butter filled kong to keep him busy. He does bark quite a bit when left alone and kenneled, so his future family should be prepared to continue working on that. He can also be a little mischievous, he will counter-surf and investigate anything that smells good, so structure and consistency will be important. Overall, Buddy is playful, protective, affectionate, and incredibly sweet. He would thrive with an active family, possibly another playful dog, and someone committed to continuing his training.
