Reesey-female-spayed-2 1/2 years. Meet Reesey! If you're fond of large dogs, she's the one for you, weighing in at 100 pounds of pure sweetness. Reesey was given up to a local humane society and then came to us because she was too much for the previous owner's wife to handle. She was housetrained in her former home and is known to be calm yet playful, gentle yet excitable, and both social and affectionate. Reesey enjoys car rides and responds to commands such as sit, stay, down, and shake. She is learning how to walk politely on leash. Reesey does get excited when she sees squirrels! Her former owners described her as a good dog who needs space to run and is full of energy. After a brief stay with us, Reesey was adopted but was recently returned due to incompatibility with other dogs in the household, as she prefers not to share her belongings. Reesey is a wonderful dog! She been here awhile but is comfortable in her kennel and waits for staff or volunteers to come, take her out and spend time with her. She's a people dog for sure! Story

Cash-male-neutered- 3 1/2 years Cash was surrendered to us in March 2024 to find a new home. He is one of the happiest, and most loveable dogs! Cash loves cuddle time, and he really enjoys belly rubs. He melts when you pet his chest, and he would stay there all day for attention. He's a dog who is eager to please, and knows a few commands such as sit, come, down and here but he can be a tad stubborn if he's distracted. He also heels well on leash which is wonderful! Cash is housetrained and rarely has an accident which is a bonus! He is fond of exercise and can keep up if you like to be active. If you like going for walks or hiking, he would love to join you! He also loves playing in our fence with toys and he likes to carry them around. Another great trait of Cash is that he likes lounging around and hanging out. If you love a dog that likes car rides, Cash is a great choice. He loves to hang out and nap in the car. He's rather an adaptable dog. Cash is currently around 70 pounds so he's not gigantic but he's not a small dog either. Cash is not particularly fond of other dogs after being adopted and returned for being reactive towards them with his new owner, however, he is doing really well with our onsite trainer in learning coping skills and avoidance skills. He walks politely on leash and can be walked with other dogs and co-exist with other dogs in his presence if you are diligent and remind him not to be reactive. He bonds with someone with leadership skills very quickly and likes to heel and focus on his tasks. We are requiring his new adopter to take a minimum of two classes (costs reduced for his new adopters) with our onsite trainer to make sure you have the skills you need to continue and follow through with his training.
