Meet Dutch - Your Energetic Adventure Buddy!
Dutch is a spirited young pup, just over a year old, who's brimming with youthful exuberance! He's been a part of an excellent training program that has honed his basic obedience, manners, and helped manage his energy and anxiety. Dutch's ideal family is one that loves the great outdoors and will take him on thrilling hikes and leisurely walks through the woods where he can enjoy all the sniffing he desires. As Dutch is still a young pup, consistent daily exercise will be essential.
Dutch is no stranger to group training classes and thoroughly enjoys them. Continued training will not only improve his confidence and focus but also serve as a bonding experience for his new family. He's highly motivated by treats and toys, a real "foodie" who relishes frozen Kongs and puzzle games.
Easy-going and Caring
When it comes to handling and care, Dutch is a breeze. Grooming and veterinary visits are no problem for him. He's made significant progress with crate training and is quite affectionate and snuggly with his human companions.
Health and Wellness
Dutch has been neutered and is up to date on vaccinations. He is on medication to help him focus on instruction and training and not so much on environmental stimuli, such as loud noises, unfamiliar environments etc. He has shown tremendous improvement since starting this treatment.
Swimming Prodigy in the Making
Dutch recently gave swimming a try and although he's still getting the hang of it, we are confident that he will master the art of entering and exiting the water smoothly soon.
The Right Home for Dutch
Dutch gets along well with other dogs, but older and more mature canines might find his puppy antics a tad too energetic. He has been tested with a cat and did well, but if there is a cat, it should have a demonstrated ability to hold its own with a pesky, very curious pup who will likely give chase if the cat decides to run. Dutch is comfortable with adults and may thrive in a household with older, consistent children. A securely fenced yard is ideal for his playtime and fetch sessions. He would do well in a home where someone either works from home or does not leave him alone for more than 4 hours per day.
Potential owners should ideally be experienced or dog-savvy. Dutch would not be suitable for someone's first dog experience.
A Helping Hand from the Trainer
Dutch has completed a Board and Train program, and his adoption package includes a 90-minute transfer session between the trainer and the adoptive family, along with an additional 60-minute follow-up appointment (virtual or in person). He's made remarkable progress, and now he's ready to find his forever home.
Dutch is a beautiful boy with endless potential, waiting for a family that will cherish his energy, affection, and commitment to continued growth. Are you the one to give him the loving home he deserves?
