My name is Hank (the tank) and sugar isn’t sweet enough to describe me. I came from a bad situation where I was crated 20+ hours a day and since I have been with my foster family, I have blossomed into a goofball and started to experience what freedom is all about. In the couple weeks I have been with my foster family I have learned how to walk on a leash like a gentleman as well as acknowledge my name. I do well with sit, down, stay, drop, and touch. I need a family that wants to keep working with me on my basic commands because I get distracted easily. I don’t beg, I don’t jump, I’m very treat motivated and have been learning super quick. I do have moderate separation anxiety because I love people, so my ideal family will hopefully continue to help me grow confident in my new environment. When you need to leave the house, I will happily settle down in my crate if you give me a snack. Unfortunately, I am too interested in my cat foster siblings and need a home without cats. I am the bestest boy in the world. We prefer Daisy to be adopted with Duke. This chill duo were abandoned by their previous owner and are estimated to be 4 years old. Desert Willow took them in and immediately fell in love with them because it's impossible not to! Daisy and Duke are the most laid-back pups at the rescue. They are marginally interested in exercise, Duke more so than Daisy, and they enjoy a nice stroll to explore and sniff around. Their ideal activity, however, is cuddling up on the couch and showering you with kisses. They are wonderful with children! As excellent students, they are picking up on their training skills very quickly. They are both described by everyone as being so sweet and gentle. Daisy adores belly rubs, and will happily present her belly to anyone who may rub it! Duke loves beds – oh so much. He is very resourceful and will carry his bed around with him so that it’s always handy for a good nap. They are the perfect pair if you're looking for chill, kissy cuddlers. Gentle Giants-Rudi is a handsome 5-year-old English Cream Golden Retriever with an old-soul personality who is part of a bonded pair. He weighs 112 lbs and is working toward an ideal weight of around 90 lbs. Calm, gentle, and sweet, Rudi is somewhat reserved but surprisingly affectionate. He seeks out cuddles without being clingy and loves to relax close to his people. He walks beautifully on leash and knows sit, stay, leave it, off, and down—his recall is selective but reliable. Rudi does well with dogs, cats, birds, and young children. He especially loves cats and happily follows them around grooming them. He’s allowed on the couch but not the bed. Rudi is a cuddly “mini polar bear” and a truly special boy. Kenna and Rudi are a bonded pair. Kenna is the alpha and they are affectionate, playful, and well-behaved together. They don’t require crating, aren’t excessive barkers, and integrate well with other animals and people. They’d make a wonderful addition to any family and have strong potential as therapy dogs.

Sonny is blossoming more each day in her foster home, and it’s been a joy to watch her confidence grow. She’s learning daily routines, approaching new situations with less fear, and showing just how loving and loyal she truly is. A classic Velcro Golden, Sonny bonds quickly and deeply with her people and is happiest when she’s close—curled up beside you on the couch or sleeping on your bed at night. Sonny gets along beautifully with her canine foster siblings and requires a home with at least one stable, confident dog to help guide her. She absolutely loves zooming around, so a fenced yard is a must for her happy bursts of play. While she shows no prey drive around kittens, she prefers that other animals respect her personal space, especially around her face—so dog-savvy, respectful cats would be the best fit. In the home, Sonny is a wonderful companion. She does well being gated or in a playpen for up to four hours with no accidents or destructive behavior, though she does not tolerate a crate. She would do best with children over the age of 12 who can understand her boundaries and gentle nature. Sonny will do best in a calm, patient home with predictable routines and realistic expectations. She needs an adopter who understands that confidence and trust take time, and who is willing to let her move at her own pace. She knows basic commands, does not counter surf, takes treats gently, and alerts when she needs to go outside. She can be strong on leash but is improving. Kenna is very people-oriented, loves to cuddle, and will happily be your shadow. She’s gentle, well-mannered in the home, and only bothered by vacuums and blowing sawdust.
