Story
Betsy Lou is a 3 year old, 8.8 pound Lhasa Apso who is ready to leave her difficult past behind and start the life she deserves. She was found running for her life alongside Ross on the Fourth of July after a kind Samaritan stepped in to rescue them. Her long matted coat, severely overgrown nails, and infected skin told the story of heartbreaking neglect, but with love and care, Betsy Lou has made an incredible transformation. Now this sweet, affectionate girl is ready to find a forever family that will love her for the rest of her happily ever after. Adoption fee is: $400 ALL adoptions require a completed application, vet check, home check and final contract. The application to adopt can be found at www.camorescue.com. Adoption fees are variable. Up to date vaccines, microchip, spay/neuter are included in the fee. Once your application has been approved, we will put you in touch with a CAMO representative to set up a meet and greet. We select the best applicant for each dog, based on the dog's needs. For the safety of our small breed dogs and based on our past experiences, we will not place our dogs in homes with large breed dogs. EIN # 46-5486022

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Zelle, or cash only. donate@yorkierescuehouston.org or, if you prefer: our fundraising platform, Zeffy Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.   BITEY!**update** Wrigley is also known as 'The destroyer of anything fluffy' He delights in rendering all soft and fluffy items flat and unusable! no Toy or bed is safe. Also, this boy is stubborn and not responsive to kissy invites to 'go outside'. Wrigley was surrendered by his family with a small 'tumor' on his back.  He had become 'bitey'.  (I would too, if allowed to suffer the pain of being MATTED TO THE SKIN!) We took him from the shelter and he went straight to our vet. It wasn't a tumor.  THEY were cysts.  He had 5 large cysts that had been allowed to grow unchecked.  He was badly matted and required sedation grooming.  While  he was under, he also got a badly needed dental!  All 5 cysts were removed and he is healing nicely. Wrigley is a bit of a loner, preferring to chill in a quiet room.  He gets along with other dogs, but does not seem to enjoy their company, he does not engage in play or other activities.  We believe he will do best with an experienced dog owner with no other dogs in the home.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 30, 2026, 10:09 am

Story
Buttercup is a gentle, low-key senior (+10) Shih Tzu who’s all about peace, quiet, and the sedentary life. She is looking for her (chill) human with whom she can spend the remaining years of her life. She is mostly blind and deaf. She had an eye removed and mammary tumors removed. Her foster says “she’s a special Buttercup.” She is sweet and chill. She is NOT destructive or a barker. She’s independent. Her ideal day would be relaxing on the couch next to you -you’ll need to help her up as she is not a jumper either. Buttercup is easy to manage. She gets along with other dogs and cats. She is crate trained. She is also house trained as long as you stick to a consistent schedule, otherwise she’ll have an accident. She knows how to use a doggy doorbell and will nudge it with her nose to let you know she has to go out. She will also wear a diaper as long as you put it on while she is up and about. She’s great on a leash but is slow and doesn't like walks. She would rather relax by your side. She doesn’t care for toys but she loves blankets and bunching them up. She also loves to mix up where she sleeps and changes her spot every night. She is on a special diet of salmon and rice for her sensitive skin. She waits patiently for her food and even lets other dogs take their turn first. Buttercup likes treats and dental sticks. If you’re looking for a calm, affectionate friend who will fill your days with quiet joy, Buttercup is ready to give you her whole heart. Her adoption fee is $100 ALL adoptions require a completed application, vet check, home check and final contract. The application to adopt can be found at www.camorescue.com. Adoption fees are variable. Up to date vaccines, microchip, spay/neuter are included in the fee.
