I’m looking to find a new home for Gizmo, my 10-year-old Maltese. We’ve had him since he was a puppy, and he’s always been part of our family. Due to significant changes in family circumstances over the years, I took him in when I moved into my apartment. Unfortunately, I’ve learned that he has developed severe separation anxiety, and with my current work schedule and apartment setup, I can’t provide the stable environment he needs. Gizmo is a healthy, well-behaved boy who deserves a loving home where someone can help him work through his anxiety. He would do best in a home where his occasional barking or howling won’t disturb neighbors. He’s a little spoiled but he’s a fast learner and loves attention. I’ll also provide all of his supplies to make the transition easier, including a 6+ month supply of his kibble, his bed, toys, and grooming supplies. We’d love to stay in touch and check in from time to time, if possible as he means a lot to our family.

Hes been around a cat previously for 5 years and they got along well. He hasn’t been around a lot of toddlers. He needs a lot of attention and would do well with someone who is retired or works from home. Both of my kids are grown and moved out and I’m taking care of my mother who has Alzheimer’s by myself now. I don’t have the bandwidth to give him the attention he deserves and that’s why I’m looking for a home for him. He’s only 7 pounds and a lot of fluff so he can run in between your legs so not good for someone who can trip easily. He is a lap dog and is perfectly content just cuddling with someone. He does have a high-pitched bark and loves to talk when he’s excited. He is neutered and up to date with all shots. He did have bladder stones and he’s on a vet px diet and is due for his 4-month checkup to see if he has any left which I’m taking him to in another week. He just had a checkup, and his teeth cleaned end of last year. He’s in good health and very friendly. He doesn’t like to be on his back, so you have to hold him like a football but loves to be in someone’s arms. He is crate trained, and pee pad trained. I keep a pad in the bathroom for him in case, but he will go outside if you take him out regularly and as soon as he’s done eating. For adoption information, please email momi1600@gmail.com.

Squash has been diagnosed with Cushing’s Disease, which is a chronic disease that will likely require lifelong medication to manage it. He had his right eye removed while in our care, and is suspected to have little or no vision in his remaining left eye.
