Welcome Layla!     Sweet girl was given a much needed makeover before arriving. Who doesn’t love a spa day?!        6 years old / 7 lbs.               Maltese mix -Coexists well with dogs.  - Unknown on cats, but I bet most are bigger than her! -It’s only Day 1, but is appearing to be potty trained. (Pads & outside).  - Due to her size, she’ll be placed in a home minus small children.  - As you can see from her “before” pics, she will require regular grooming to prevent matting to reoccur.   **Layla arrived in full blown heat. This will delay her spay a couple of weeks. Although she isn’t available right away, I’d advise you to get your application in and approved **  Apply at adoptastray.com #lovinglaylaApril 27, 2026, 12:09 am

Story
Meet Taffy! Taffy is a four year old, 10 pound Morkie (a Maltese Yorkie mix). Taffy is a quiet and docile little dog that has no idea what it means to be loved and spoiled but she’s learning what it’s like to have a gentle hand scratch her behind the ears and give her a warm lap to sleep on. She enjoys being wrapped in a warm blanket and being held. Taffy feels comfortable in her crate but likes to cautiously venture out to explore her new surroundings. She gets along well with other dogs and cats, even accepting several kittens sleeping on top of her. She’s still a bit confused by what to do with toys and dog beds. Taffy will benefit from a consistent routine to learn house training and leash training. She will need someone with the patience to let her personality blossom as she gains confidence in her new environment. Taffy would also thrive in a home with another similar-sized, confident, well-adjusted dog to help guide her and build her confidence. One thing Taffy does know is what she likes to eat! She can be a bit picky and prefers canned dog food and absolutely loves chicken. If you think you’re the person who can give this sweet little dog her “happily ever after” life that she deserves, apply for Taffy today! Taffy is fostered in the Cincinnati area. Her adoption fee is $450.00. To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

Story
Meet Toeby—a teeny, adorable 8.5-month-old Maltipoo weighing just 5.5 lbs! Rescued from an Amish puppy mill, this little guy has already proven how resilient he is. Toeby is missing a couple of toes on one back foot, but don’t worry—it doesn’t slow him down at all. Because he’s also missing the pads on those toes, he can be a bit sensitive to the cold and may occasionally hop along on three legs if that foot gets uncomfortable. A typical energetic puppy, Toeby will do best with an adopter who can keep him active and engaged. He enjoys playing in the yard and having fun with stuffed toys. He is also a gentle, affectionate boy who loves cuddling up with his foster mom. Toeby is very vocal, especially when someone walks by his yard, so he may do best in a home that can help him manage his alert barking with consistent training. His hair is very fine and gets matted quickly, so his adopter will need to be committed to daily brushing and regular scheduled grooming to keep him comfortable and looking his best. Toeby will truly thrive in a home that offers structure, consistency, and lots of love. Crate training and potty training are still works in progress, though he’s already improving—especially now that the weather has warmed up. With patience, a routine, and a canine friend by his side, Toeby will be an immensely happy boy. Toeby is fostered in the Cincinnati area. His adoption fee is $450.00.
