Story
Meet Redd, a spirited little guy who’s ready to find his forever home! At 14 years young, Redd was surrendered by his former family but was fortunate enough to be welcomed into a loving foster home with COALDR just an hour later. This delightful pup has more spunk and energy than many dogs half his age! Each morning, he bounds outside with enthusiasm, eager to explore his yard and greet his doggy friends. Weighing in at just 11 pounds, Redd is a charming Poodle/Maltese mix and is currently fostered in Smithfield, VA. Redd has a cataract in one eye and is likely blind in that eye. His other eye has age-related vision loss, but he can see shadows and navigates his environment quite well. Redd is house-trained but prefers to use pads overnight. He’s had a thorough medical check-up and is in excellent health. This lovable boy gets along great with everyone, so a home with older, respectful children would be ideal. Because of his limited sight, he may not be comfortable around very young kids. Redd loves mealtime and isn’t shy about expressing his impatience if he has to wait. Aside from that, he’s quite a calm pup who would do well in an apartment setting. Redd enjoys leisurely walks and loves spending time outside, exploring his yard. He’s great with other dogs and adores every person he meets. If you’re ready to give this fun-loving little fellow a cozy retirement home, please complete an application to adopt him!

Story
Is there anyone looking for a tiny pair of senior Maltese sisters? Moxy and Lily are very sweet and friendly and are looking for a home that wants both dogs. They are approximately 10 years old and have had all their vet care and a recent grooming, but their coats were a mess so we will continue to clean them up. If they are adopted by a senior there will be no adoption fee. Their teeth were so rotten that the few they had left had to be extracted so they will always need to eat canned food. They love to go for walks and play in our fenced area. Both pups are great about handling and enjoy human attention. They are very sweet and affectionate. If you are interested in adopting this pair, please fill out our dog adoption application here: http://medfieldshelter.com/adopt. The adoption fee for this pair is $250, or it is free if the adopter is a senior. Every dog we place is vaccinated, wormed, treated for ticks/fleas, and spayed/neutered prior to adoption. We send each dog home with a collar and leash. With very few exceptions, dogs are happiest and the most well-behaved when they receive daily exercise and ongoing training, so we always prefer to place our dogs with families who are willing to make a commitment to both. All adoption meetings are by appointment only as we only have two employees. Our manager or one of our volunteers will be happy to set up an appointment for you to come meet the pets, but please fill out the adoption application first.
We'll also keep you updated on Moxy's adoption status with email updates.

Story
DOB 5-25-2024 Amir is a sweetheart! This little boy is social, loves toys and friends to play with and gets along good with others. He is neutered, heartworm negatiive and received his ProHeart 6 injection. His adoption fee is 750.00 and his transport fee is 165.00 The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an online adoption application. You can find a copy of that application here. We sometimes receive a lot of interest on an animal and can't always reply to each email in a timely manner. An application does not obligate you to adopt from us, but it does show that you are serious about the adoption process. Please remember we are all volunteers. After you submit your application please allow a few days for a volunteer to review your application. During this time your vet reference will be checked and a volunteer with determine if it is the best match for you and the animal. Applications are not approved on a first come, first serve basis. We match up the best home for the animal, so even if the pet has other applications, this does not mean he/she will be adopted to that home. Once your application has been approved a volunteer with contact you to set up a phone interview. This is the perfect time for you to ask any questions you have about the adoption process and the animal you are interested in.

Story
Sweet Will found himself on the streets of Memphis where he was apparently hit by a car and was brought as a stray into the local emergency center. The team there fell in love and typically after the dog is well they send them to Memphis Animal Services but they just couldn't with this guy so we got a call. Will is approximately 5 years old and is blind - we don't know if he can see at all but it seems he cannot. He's absolutely adorable and settling in at his new foster home - he's a little nervous of course but they will work with him on "inside" living!! We will be learning more about him in the next week or so but wanted to get him out there for adoption!!We think this little man will make someone an amazing friend.Name: WillBreed: Bichon/Shih Tzu Mix (guess)Sex: MaleAge: 5 years  (estimated)Weight: 12 lbsSpayed/Neutered: YesVaccinations: Up to dateHeartworm: Negative on recent testingMicrochipped: YesBASED ON OUR OBSERVATIONS:Good with Children: Unknown - still learningGood with Dogs: Has met one other dog his size and did greatGood with Cats: Unknown - still learning Adoption Fee: $400.00  (includes transport fee when applicable)Location of dog currently:    Tennessee  IMPORTANT INFORMATION - Paws New England is a foster-based rescue; our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south & New England.  Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher.
