Story
Meet Sam! Sam is about 10 years old, 5 lbs, and he may have some Maltese in his mix! His owner could no longer care for him. In his foster home, he is working on his house-training, crate-training and does well with leash-walking. He could go to a home with kids 10+, dogs. No cats, please! No apartments, please! His foster says, "Sam has so much love to offer and he loves men. He will play with his toys throwing them up in the air. His favorite thing is lying next to my husband in the recliner in the evenings. He has had some accidents in the house. And we have been working really hard on potty training."He is available for adoption in Dartmouth MA on April 26th. Please fill out an application on our website at https://www.browndogcoalition.com/adoptable as a first step.-Puppies may not be given as gifts or surprises.-Please thoughtfully discuss with your entire household the physical, safety, financial and emotional responsibilities of a puppy BEFORE applying to adopt.- More information about our adoption process, application and adoption fees can be found at browndogcoalition.com

Story
Little Snowball arrived to the shelter as a stray, extremely underweight, so very hungry and with coat that was terribly matted as can be seen in his last photo. Please read his entire bio before reaching out to the shelter. Snowball was so underweight that shelter staff had to carefully feed him through his first couple weeks to make sure that he was able to safely process food after almost starvation. But this tiny 10 lb. boy has proved to have quite a determined, sassy attitude! Snowball wants to get to know people at his own pace. He is looking for an adult only home with no kids, dogs or cats. If children are going to be visitors, his new adopters should be prepared to have a spot for him to be safely kept away. This guy has lost some trust in people, but is trying awfully hard to make connections. Snowball is clear about his need for space, and will give a warning growl to people who push him too fast. Once he is comfortable, he will crawl up and cuddle.Snowball would like a quiet home, with adult adopters only who are willing to go very slow on getting to know him. If you need a dog to pick up and snuggle right away, he is not the pup for you. Snowball has been through a tough time and may do best with local adopters who are able to come to the shelter multiple times in order to gain his confidence. Although his coat was trimmed down, he will require regular professional grooming to keep him comfortable, and his new adopters' should be prepared for that cost. If you are viewing Snowball's profile on Adopt-a-Pet, please head to our official website at worcesterarl.org and click on his photo to fill out the Dog Adoption Inquiry Form to request a meet with him. All adoptions are by appointment, thank you!

Story
Latte is a 7 year old female Maltese/Yorkshire Terrier mix. She is loving towards anyone she meets. The perfect companion. She is playful, and cuddly. She is dog friendly, cat friendly and kid friendly. Latte was severely mistreated by her previous owners and developed extremely large kidney stones. Altruistic worked with an independent foster to get her treated and she now has no signs of kidney stones. Due to her previous frequent urination, she is not yet potty trained. She is a smart girl and is going outside and on pads about 60% of the time. She is good with cats, dogs and children.

Story
Meet Riley!Listen, we love Riley. We do. She's cute, she's fluffy, she's a real life muppet, she's sentient dryer lint with eyes, she's ADORABLE. She's a 10yo maltese mix that we THINK weighs around 12-15lbs but...it could just be floof. And anger. As much as we love Riley, she is the epitome of cranky old lady unless she likes you. She'll tell you off, she'll grumble, she'll give you dirty looks, she'll essentially make you feel guilty for doing something that you weren't even aware you did. She stomps her little feet and huffs impatiently and it's literally like having someone's sassy vovó following you around. If she DOES like you, though? She's in your lap, hopping all over you, making friends and giving you kisses. She's smart and curious and loves pets and walks like a dream on a leash. She's all cuddles and snuggles and sitting pretty and showing off like the good girl she CAN be...but mostly chooses NOT to be.We always say that we let the animals choose their adopters...with Riley, this will be so, painfully accurate that it's not even funny. She DOES, however, want to be your center of attention and can get a little possessive of treats and toys, so she needs to be the only animal in the home and we would prefer any children in the home be at least 12yo.
