You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs. Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families. We have many sponsorship dogs. Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :) When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :) So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue. Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding. Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :) Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us! Well I was good enough as a puppy and now I am 1 and my owner wanted a new apartment that didn't allow me so she chose the apartment over me :( Momma Lynn said that's ok since she didn't bother to get me to a vet for vaccines or to be neuter'd Momma Lynn says I deserve much better and she said don't worry she will be very picky about who gets me next YAY!!! She said she won't send me to a home without a little dog to play with cause I really like having friends here!! She says I gotta lose those "family jewels" quick though because apparently I am a little "over the top" with being "friendly" Sooooo she is going to schedule my "nap time" (thats what Mike called it. He said you take a nap and when you wake up you are missing your "family jewels" but you don't care). My sweet Linnie 💗 Linnie is a 10 year old Maltese little lady who was time stamped at ACCT Philly. Her owners surrendered her to the shelter because it was obvious by her breath that she needed a dental and they said they could not afford it. The team at Zoe’s House, with the help of our wonderful community, got her free of the euthanasia list and into a loving foster home. She was determined to have a serious heart murmur but with medication, she was cleared to undergo surgery to be spayed and to have a dental where the diseased teeth were removed. It was also determined that Linnie has some mammary masses, likely from not being spayed early in her life, which are likely cancerous. Her heart and age caution against the prolonged surgery to remove these masses. Linnie is on a daily heart medication and gabapentin for any discomfort. Linnie is unbothered. She is a lady who knows what she likes and what she wants. She enjoys her meals, long naps thereafter and loving in between. She travels fabulously in the car and walks well on a leash. She loves a pup cup 😋She is house trained and cares not for the crate. She doesn’t need it. She is a true lady who is just hoping to enjoy her golden years close by her human. She is being fostered with other small dogs and tolerates respectful interaction but she would love to be the center of your eye and heart. She is a joy❤️ Linnie is being fostered in Collegeville, Montgomery County. A home visit and meet and greet with all residents is part of the application process. She is up to date with vaccines and preventatives. She is microchipped. hi Swiftie, this pretty girl is an approx. 4 year old Maltipoo. She was surrendered to our care from a commercial breeder in Lancaster when she wasn't needed anymore. She is 16 lbs. Swiftie has been a quiet and calm lady that allows us all handling without an issue (including a full grooming). She is a timid pup that is looking for a loving family to help her gain confidence and courage - while her past was not great, she knows it is only good things from now on. She just needs a bit of time and a loving home to help her adjust to this new, wonderful life. She will come spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, 4dx tested. She also had a dental. Popcorn is about 18 lbs., 15 years old and according to Google lens, a West highland terrier. Animal Care Services thought he was a Maltese mix and foster mom thinks he could be a Schnauzer/Maltese mix but knows for sure that he is the cutest scruffy EVER! His journey hasn't been all snuggles and treats as he lived on someone's apartment patio for years, lying in poop, grass and other debris until Animal Care Services came for him and God's Dogs Rescue was able to save the little scamp. While he still loves his humans, other gentle pups his size (cats unknown) and his squishy toys and chewy, understandably he has a few emotional scars especially regarding vet visits and grooming. Slow, patient progress in these areas has helped him be more confident, but will need a patient adopter to help him adapt. Things that make Popcorn super happy are spending time with his humans after he gets to know them, car rides and walks in the park. He loves, loves his squishy toys and generally carries one around with him. His most favorite game is for his person to chase him and pretend to take his squishy away. He also like to run zooms and if there isn't a person to play with he will often throw his toys for himself. Doesn't that just make you want to throw his stuffies so he can play?? He's a healthy guy for his age with just a few old man issues (beginnings of cataracts) that he takes supplements for and should continue taking. His liver enzymes were high when tested but he is on a med to help them normalize. Can you give this boy the right lap to live in?? He needs very patient/knowledgeable adopters, no children- adult only because he will bite if afraid... It is a work in progress but he is becoming the goofy boy he was meant to be while living on the nasty hot and freezing porch for most of his 14 yrs :( GIVE HIM A CHANCE!!!
